Re: Marvel Tokon Making Refinements Based on Player Feedback in the Run Up to Launch

PuppetMaster

@MrPeanutbutterz Lol Capcom smoked some weird stuff when they created SF 2010 🤣

Ikr. I doubt people who cries incomplete played more than 2 characters or even managed to reach Master rank. I bet most of them only played a bit of Arcade, World Tour, or Combo Trial and then call it a day.

Heck, we can still try DLC characters with rental fighters tickets which is free for an hour or control them in replay mode.

I already unlocked every stage and most BGM with drive tickets. Personally i prefer Capcom working on new stages over new costumes.

Re: Resident Evil Requiem Records Strong Japanese Sales, But Still Dwarfed by Resident Evil 5 and 6

PuppetMaster

"the PS5 version selling 155,373 units and the Nintendo Switch 2 version selling 38,793 units"

I'm pretty sure i've seen someone in this site who claimed RE9 Switch 2 version will outsold PS5 version in Japan.

But kinda funny to see Switch 2 hardware sold more than PS5 but RE9 sold a lot more on PS5. Like what are Switch 2 owners playing, just Pokemon, DQ, or Nintendo games?

Re: Nothing Was Ever Going to Catch Resident Evil Requiem in PS Store's February Chart

PuppetMaster

@TheArt If you really really want a bang for your bucks with tons of hours of playing time then i reccomend buying a fighting game.

With fighting games, you can replay it as many times as you want until you sick of it, became a top player, or the devs completely stop the suppport. SF 6 for example, i bought it on day 1 at $60 and these past 3 years i've poured more than 1500 hours with the game either enjoying single player contents, compete in tourney, or just grinding and playing online matches.

Heck, with SF 6 or Fatal Fury: CotW, you could compete and win a $1-1.5 Million prize money at Capcom Cup or SNK World Championship. With those money, you don't need to feel worry if your €65 is justify or not hehe 😁

Re: Guilty Gear Strive 2.00 Will Get Its Big Reveal Later This Month

PuppetMaster

@MrPeanutbutterz It's okay to have preferences. X2 is still my fav GG. But i never feel Strive like a bad game or even close to the worst in the series. Strive graphics and music alone are pretty top notch and i also enjoyed the cinematic story that ended Sol Badguy arc as well give conclusion to some characters like Axl, I-No, and Sol 'wife'.

The other commenter probably doesn't like SF 6 with the way he feels about modern fighting games...

Re: Guilty Gear Strive 2.00 Will Get Its Big Reveal Later This Month

PuppetMaster

@MrPeanutbutterz In the last 5 years, i've seen some GG fans keeps labelling Strive as the worst game in the series just because it doesn't play exactly like Accent Core or Xrd.

I personally enjoyed it (my main are Chip and Axl) and accept it for what it is despite it has some flaws. Although, i'm not yet played the game again for 4 years. I'm missing out a lot of updates that probably fixed those flaws.

Re: Marvel Tokon Making Refinements Based on Player Feedback in the Run Up to Launch

PuppetMaster

@MrPeanutbutterz Ikr. It's a brilliant idea!

I never played Mighty Final Fight, Mega Man: Power Battle, and SF 2010 until Capcom added these games for SF 6 Battle Hub / Gallery and they're quite a blast to play especially Mighty Final Fight.

SF 6 has soo many contents to enjoy. But some people keeps complaining the game is incomplete just because it still receives support with DLC characters that they probably never gonna touch. I bought the game on day 1 and i only bought 2 DLC characters Ed and Elena. But i never feel the game is incomplete or i'm missing something big.

Re: Sony Apparently Pulls the Plug on PC Ports of Saros, Ghost of Yotei

PuppetMaster

@Northern_munkey "Porting to the PC must be a logistical nightmare because of the infinite number of possible configurations that are bound to cause conflicts and just BSOD you"

Pretty much this. Why wasting money and resources to deal with these headaches when the revenue isn't worth it as well adding more headaches with PC gamers review bombed the game and ask for refund.

Re: Opinion: Sony's PC Pullback Is the Right Move for PS5

PuppetMaster

@Dogbreath "Hundreds of pounds just to play awful looking Intergalactic on a 6 year old piece of hardware? Nah you’re alright mate thanks. Pass!"

That's a bold claim when the game only have one short teaser and it doesn't look awful at all.

But you can just go full PC, Xbox, or Nintendo if you feel PS console & games aren't appealing to you anymore. Not sure why are you still here though...

Re: Sony Apparently Pulls the Plug on PC Ports of Saros, Ghost of Yotei

PuppetMaster

"It means if you want to play Saros, Ghost of Yotei, or any other upcoming single player games – like Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet or Marvel’s Wolverine – you’re probably going to need a PS5 to do so"

Not just upcoming games, i think there's very small to zero chance for PC port for GoW: Sons of Sparta, Astro Bot, GT 7, Demon's Souls remake, Bloodborne, Infamous, Gravity Rush, Medievil remake, The Last Guardian, SotC remake, Shadow of the Beast remake, Tearaway, Killzone Shadow Fall, etc etc 😁

Re: Opinion: Sony's PC Pullback Is the Right Move for PS5

PuppetMaster

"One reason for the change in approach is attributed to a "faction" within PlayStation expressing "concern that releasing their games on PC risks damaging the console’s brand and will hurt sales of the PlayStation 5 and its successors"

I wonder which faction who voiced about PC port is damaging PS brand and sales, was it the Japanese side like Totoki or Nishino? They definitely have the power to quickly scrapt the PC strategy once they started talking about it.

But i bet Hermen was the one who suggested more PC ports. The guy bought Nixxes and started porting more and more PS games for PC. I hope he will get kicked out before this year end.

@UltimateOtaku91 Yeah they will slowly dissapear after this news for sure 😁

Re: 'There's Potential for Sales Growth': Capcom Aiming to Juice Street Fighter 6 with Movie Release

PuppetMaster

Is it really possible for SF to even reach a wider audience? I mean, since SF II, Ryu and Chun li has became super iconic character to the point i'm sure most grandpas / grandmas knows either Ryu, Chun li, or hadouken 😆

But as a longtime SF fans i'm not complaining because the more the merrier 🍻. I hope the new SF movie end up as a success and attract more people to play SF.

Re: Resident Evil Requiem Surpasses an Astonishing 5 Million Sales in Its First Week

PuppetMaster

@Dogbreath "who comes across as a terrified schoolgirl instead of an FBI agent"

She's an intelligent analyst agent aka desk jockey, not a field agent, and she also dealing with her trauma as well something she never see or deal in her entire life. Her reaction is normal. I would scream and piss myself if i'm on her situation.

Heck, even Jill in RE1 remake just standing there while unloading an entire clip like an amateur when she watched Joseph got mauled by a pack of cerberus.

Re: Resident Evil Requiem Surpasses an Astonishing 5 Million Sales in Its First Week

PuppetMaster

@Shinnok789 20-30 hours? Bruh, this is a survival horror game, not RPG or open world games. So 10-12 hours (i heard some people needs 15 hours to finish) campaign is quite long and comparable to previous main RE games.

Beside, the game have pretty good replayability with higher difficulty and unlocked contents like concept arts, costumes, and weapons.

I got the feeling Capcom will add free Mercenaries mode too.

Re: Highguard Permanently Shuts Down on 12th March

PuppetMaster

@LogicStrikesAgain Yeah it's sad that people only want negativity.

I personally don't hate this game and the devs nor i want them to failed. I'm just baffled with their lacked of preparation that they didn't hold a single beta test to check players feedback and add it to the game before release.

I'm sure there are space big enough in gaming industry for both live service and single player games to co-exist.

Re: Bungie Confirms First Two Marathon Seasons, Both Adding Free Content

PuppetMaster

@Americansamurai1 Ranked reset doesn't erased whatever item rewards that you've earned from playing the game. Your skill wouldn't be erased either but get check if you have improved, stuck, or falling behind. If your skill have improved, you wouldn't have problem ranked up again and even reach new rank than last season.

Imagine if you reach the highest ranked, you will only get match against players around your ranked & skills which means you only played around 1-5% of the playerbase since you're at the top of the mountain. If there's no ranked reset, you will be stuck with the same player pool over and over and that would be a problem for the competitive scene. People will get bored cause the meta didn't change.

The concept is quite similar with basketball or soccer league season. When the new season started, every team including the champion start with 0 point again and their position from last season also got reset. It gives fairness and the sense of you shouldn't feel complacent if you want to keep competing to the top.

But if you don't care about playing competitively then you shouldn't care about your rank get reset every new season. You can just play for fun or casually.

Re: Highguard Permanently Shuts Down on 12th March

PuppetMaster

Well, the game doesn't have beta test and the only marketing was from TGA which received quite negative. So i'm not surprised if this happen.

My condolences to the devs though. I hope they get a new job asap 🙏

@ButterySmooth30FPS You forgot GT 7, SF 6, and Tekken 8 which also a successful live service games 😁

Re: Bungie Confirms First Two Marathon Seasons, Both Adding Free Content

PuppetMaster

@Boxmonkey Not just extraction shooter, fighting games like SF 6 also have ranked reset for every 3 months and Tekken 8 for every new season.

@Americansamurai1 The point for ranked reset is to recalibrate player skills, ensuring more balanced matchmaking in case some players leveled up their skills, and to keep the competitive scene actives.

Re: Physical Game Sales Hit All-Time Low in the US

PuppetMaster

Last year has plenty of games that was digital only. Heck, when some of these digital only games received physical copy, they're either only released in certain region like Japan/US/EU, have very limited quantity, or they release months or a year away from their digital release. So no wonder physical sales took a hit when publishers created these unnecessary obstacles 🤷‍♂️

But even with those obstacles, $1.5 billion revenue /year is still a lot and it's US only. If we're also counting sales from Japan which still heavy on physical games, EU, Asia, and around the world where the internet are not as fast as big countries, the numbers for physical would be a lot bigger.

I will always prioritized physical copy first and if the medium is dead then i'm done with video games.

Re: 'What the F*ck Is This?': God of War Creator Hates First TV Show Image

PuppetMaster

@naruball Yep. Henry Cavill Witcher is a good example of how people did an 180.

Or do you remember when the late Heath Ledger Joker picture shown for the 1st time? Man, people initial reaction was brutal, calling him awful and all names. Majorly the reaction was super negative until TDK released.

I personally feel this show will end up well as long as they hired creative talents who can write good scripts and direct badass / epic action scenes.

Re: Marvel Tokon Making Refinements Based on Player Feedback in the Run Up to Launch

PuppetMaster

@Voltan Yes GG Strive is 5 years old and it still going strong. And DBFZ, which is another ArcSys game, still have support after 7 years in.

Or another example we can look at Virtua Fighter 5. That game almost reach two decades old and Sega still support it with new version and tourney.

With Marvel selling power, i think Tokon have a good chance to stay for 10 years. But my guess for the plan is 5-7 years of DLC and balance updates and after that they focus on competitive circuit until Tokon 2 release.

Re: Opinion: If Sony's Doubling Down on Its Most Popular Franchises, Where's Uncharted?

PuppetMaster

@RoomWithaMoose And Golden Abyss, which still a pretty good Uncharted game imho, is the lowest selling (and rating) game in the series, outside the mobile games. It's the same as Sly Cooper 4 which not handle by Sucker Punch.

I'm personally okay with the idea of smaller devs working with an established IP. It's a neat idea but it also comes with a risk where these smaller devs messed up the quality standard already established by the original devs. I mean, just look at how people complaint about the recent Sons of Sparta got 69 at metacritic. Sony probably wouldn't let anyone outside Santa Monica work with GoW anymore after the complaints and 'low' rating...
