Re: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 (PS5) - MGS 4 Is Finally Free from PS3, and It's the Best It's Ever Been

PuppetMaster

Personally, as a big Metal Gear Solid fan, I've always been of the opinion that the post-MGS 4 games feel like an unnecessary addendum to a franchise that was utterly, demonstrably, sometimes exhaustively finished with 4. Still, Peace Walker gives you more if you want it.

Outside the garbage Survive, I never feel Metal Gear games post MGS 4 as unnecessary. I think Rising, Peace Walker, Ground Zero, and Phantom Pain still offers substantial story and gameplay changes.

But i understand that feeling when a franchise feels like it's finished after a sequel told the final chapter for the main character. I feel that for Yakuza and Uncharted after Yakuza 6 and Uncharted 4.

Re: 'Great Games Belong in Your Collection, Not Just Your Library': Retailer Promotes Physical Revival with Reprinted PS4 Lineup

PuppetMaster

Bought my PS4 Rival City Girls copy a couple of years ago for $35, brand new. Luckily the second game copy isn't rare.
Untitled

And i should buy Kunio-Kun World years ago when it was quite cheap. But nice to see PlayAsia doing a reprint.

Also, i would love a reprint for Capcom Beat Em Up Collection. But if not, i guess i'll get Switch version.

@ShadowRJ My marketplace has plenty of NG 2 Black copy either brand new or second hand.

Re: Sony Accused of Blocking Marvel's Wolverine Discounts in Brazil

PuppetMaster

@Northern_munkey

maybe Brazil should actively boycott Sony then and cease to buy all Sony products

Maybe they should. But you should ask Brazillian gamers what they feel or what they gonna do about this case.

If the figures you quote are real then that sudden loss of revenue would surely make Sony pay attention yes?

I don't know if the numbers are real or not. You should ask the journalist who did that research but i say the numbers looks convincing.
https://en.clickpetroleoegas.com.br/brazils-gaming-market-reaches-25-billion-but-country-plays-more-than-it-produces-btl96/

But it won't because gamers (not just brazilians) will shout and stamp their feet and then purchase the game anyway if they want it that much and Sony know this and just won't care either way

Some gamers might stick with their principle after they complaint and stomp their feet. They can move on to other game companies since Sony isn't the only one who produce video games.

And if Sony stay ignorant and arrogant as if no backlash or protest will affect their bottom line then i hope next gen they learn the lesson again, just like they experienced back in PS3 era. Although this time there's no Kaz Hirai, Shuhei Yoshida, and Andrew House to save their ass. I don't see current Sony management like Nishino, Hermen, and Totoki have the skill to turn the table from worst to amazing.

Re: 'We Don't Need to Aggressively Sell the Console': Sony CEO Says Timing of Memory Crisis Is 'Lucky' for PS5

PuppetMaster

@Rich33 It's not poor communication. What Totoki said in this interview is pretty much the same with what their CFO Lin Tao said back in February about monetizing PS userbase.
https://www.techpowerup.com/346519/sony-prioritizing-monetization-of-current-ps5-user-base-in-fight-to-counter-rising-memory-costs?type=Games

They are trying to milk PS userbase really hard and dry:

  • PS5 price increase back in April
  • PS+ price increase back in May
  • PS store dynamic pricing also in May
  • No more customers loyalty program

Sony next move is possibly to increase 1st party games price from $70 to $80. But they probably not gonna do it this year since they already received a lot of heat from stopping disc production and PS3+Vita store shutdown announcement.

Re: 'We Don't Need to Aggressively Sell the Console': Sony CEO Says Timing of Memory Crisis Is 'Lucky' for PS5

PuppetMaster

Dang, Hermen big boss is so messed up 😵‍💫

I can only say good luck to 80% Playstation userbase who rejoice with Sony decision to kill physical games and fully embraced digital only era. Prepare yourself as a healthy cow cause Sony will milk you like crazy 🤣

Also, with Totoki at the throne, good luck asking Sony for better PS store, better refund process, and ultimately better digital ownership lol.

Re: PS5 Fighting Game 2XKO Throws in the Towel, Just Can't Get Enough Players

PuppetMaster

Bad title, the game is barebone af, and there's no story mode that explain who the heck are these characters. I mean, not everyone plays League of Legends or watch Arcane.

But I think overall F2P is just not working when comes to fighting games. The FGC prefer to pay $50-60 and get good contents on the base game rather than a free version where you can only play 2 or 3 characters and the rest of the contents are locked behind paywall.

  • Bamco tried with Tekken Revolution and Soul Calibur: Lost Sword and both doesn't last long.
  • KT tried with DOA 5 and 6 and it doesn't give significant effect that boost the series popularity or player count.
  • Fantasy Strike online match is pretty much dead.
  • Multiversus also dead.

I don't know about GranBlue Fantasy Versus: Rising F2P version though. Last time i played it was last year and it had decent player numbers despite no crossplay feature.

Re: I Didn't Have a Golden Axe Cartoon on My 2026 Bingo Card

PuppetMaster

It looks...fun. Although my dream of Golden Axe animation would be serious full of blood and gore and with 90's artstyle similar to Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Wicked City or any anime directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri.

Btw there's still no news for the new Golden Axe. But somehow this cartoon will air next month. Hmmm....

Re: PS6's Purported $1,000 Price Point Could Lead to a 40% Slump in Sales

PuppetMaster

A gaming console is physical product. But with the majority of PS userbase wants digital only because they can't get up from their ass to insert / swap disc and also to save the mother earth from plastic, i say Sony should just go full streaming only. No need for PS6, PS7, PS8 etc 😃

I'm sure the majority of PS fans will loves the idea of streaming PS games from anywhere and anytime they want. Heck, they don't need to download games as well spend $500-1000 for a bulky looking machine that clutter their room anymore! 😃

Re: Opinion: Hermen Hulst Has Failed and PS Studios Needs a Change

PuppetMaster

@Art_Vandelay Making one or two live service game is okay. But forcing all 1st party studios to make live service game was wrong, especially when most of them doesn't even have the experience and resource for live service game.

Rather than forced all their 1st party to do it, what Sony should do from the start is hired 3rd party. They did the right decision with Helldivers 2, Marvel Tokon, and Horizon Steel Frontiers.

Re: Majority of Naughty Dog Was Working on The Last of Us Online Before It Was Cancelled

PuppetMaster

This is the only live service game that shouldn't be cancelled and have better chances for success since ND has great record when comes to multiplayer.

  • CTR, one of the best kart racing that can rival Mario Kart
  • Uncharted 2-4 has very solid and fun MP mode
  • Tlou 1 Faction was great with the slow & tactical pace 4 v 4 while implementing social media aspect where your friends names appear as part of your faction.

TloU Online or i say Faction 2 would be so much fun since TloU 2 gameplay offered so much improvement than TloU 1. Like using Clickers to attack the opposite team will be really fun to watch. Or hiding under the car or bus to ambush your opponent.

sigh...

Re: Opinion: Hermen Hulst Has Failed and PS Studios Needs a Change

PuppetMaster

Hermen the clown is a bean counter without any creative experiences as game devs and Sony big mistake was put him as SIE president who supervised all project.

He deserved to get fired after Concord failed miserably. Like seriously, at any company if you have a $400+ million project burn to crisp then you should be fired. But somehow he survive while people under him got sacrificed 🙄

Re: 6 Ways PS5's Tides of Annihilation Blew Me Away After 2 Hours of Play

PuppetMaster

A big contrast between this and Phantom Blade Zero setting. One with western modern setting and inspired by Arthurian legends. While the other is classic Wuxia mixed with steampunk setting.

And i feel Chinese devs became more and more experiences with their games. This, Phantom Blade Zero, and Blood Message are some of the proof that they are in the right trajectory to become top tier gaming devs.

Btw nice preview Sammy 👍

Re: 'I Don't Understand If It's Such a Big Issue': Shuhei Yoshida Isn't Too Bothered About No More Discs

PuppetMaster

@naruball

The music and movie industry gets it. I don't see why the gaming (PC, Sony, MS) doesn't.

This 🤝

Movies has been releasing physical copy, usually bluray + DVD or UHD + bluray, that also includes digital copy and no one complaint about this.

So there's no reason why games, which is price more expensive than movies, can't do the same. A Spiderman Brand New Day physical copy include UHD/bluray + digital copy + steelbook case is $45. Now GTA 6 at $80 can't even include a bluray disc and a fking map? Ridiculous 🙄

Re: After Online Storm, Here's the Truth About Wolverine PS5

PuppetMaster

@cragis0001 6 QTE in the span of 2.5 hours sounds okay to me. Last week i finished Metal Gear Rising and there was plenty of QTE in the cutscenes, QTE for every Zandatsu, and QTE in every boss fights.

But i'm not sure why people hate QTE. I didn't hear any backlash back when og RE 4 and Shenmue popularized QTE. Then more games used QTE like God of War, Quantic Dreams games, Telltale games, Yakuza, Bayonetta, MGS etc etc. And now Wolverine have 6 QTE in the span of 2.5 hours and suddenly it deserves a backlash?

Re: Irate Physical Game Fans Prepare for Their Big PS5 Blackout

PuppetMaster

This boycott might not put a tiny bit dent at Sony's revenue. But at least it's not spamming or trolling indies or devs social media account that has nothing to do with Sony decision to kill physical games. The boycott is aiming straight at Sony and somehow some people in here have a problem and take it personal like the boycott aimed at them. Some of you weirdos really needs to stay away from physical games article if you are tired and fed up with physical fans who fight for their right.

Anyway. I'll join the boycott. 1 week is short and i can used my 3DS for Luigi's Mansion 2.

Re: These 2 PS5 Classics Look Like They Could Be Delisted Soon

PuppetMaster

I'm always baffled with publishers decision to delisted original games from the store so they can forced people towards the collection or remaster that possibly missing some contents or plays worst than the original, like what happened to Yakuza 0 & 3 or GTA Trilogy.

Heck, some just delisted their games without any replacement at all, like what happened to Sega Mega Drive Classic (luckily i bought the physical copy) or completely unavailable to purchase and became lost media.

Re: After Online Storm, Here's the Truth About Wolverine PS5

PuppetMaster

Well that's the confirmation for people who thinks the combat is just mashing one button over and over. Although, i personally don't mind a simple combat as long as the enemies are smart and have good variations.

@LiamCroft Can you confirmed if Wolverine have dodge and parry mechanic? Btw nice preview 👍

Re: Sony's New 'It Happens on PS5' Ad Has Gone Down Exactly as You'd Expect

PuppetMaster

@RoomWithaMoose No, i never get the chance to try Metroid Prime. It's the one with 1st person view right? I might give it a try after Dread.

As for Xenoblade 2, I'm familiar with Tetsuya Takahashi works since i've played Xenogears and all Xenosaga. But i'll check the characters and gameplay first and if i like what i see then i'll try it.

But thanks for the reccomendation. I already wrote them on my note 🤝

Re: Sony's New 'It Happens on PS5' Ad Has Gone Down Exactly as You'd Expect

PuppetMaster

@RoomWithaMoose From all Nintendo catalogue, Metroid is the one i'm interested the most since i like sci-fi, aliens, and action side scrolling. I probably will get Metroid Dread and also Bayonetta 2 for my first Switch games.

I've already tried Fire Emblem through FE Awakening on 3DS and quite enjoyed it. But these days i have less interest for JRPG. It's not the genre fault and more of my own mistakes for playing tons of JRPG in the last 3 decades. A lot of them became my backlog so i feel kinda scared to try a new one that required 40-80 hours to finish and ended up as my backlog.
