Re: Yakuza 3 Remake Backlash Blows Up Again as Actor Guilty of Sexual Harassment Stars in New Trailer

PuppetMaster

If an actor or company behaviour bothers you that much and not in line with your politics or moral code then just don't buy their games and moved on.

Either Sega will or not remove the actor from the game is not your business, especially if you're not gonna buy their games.

So i'm not sure why some people are so obsessed and keeps lingering on the matter as if Sega must listen to their demands. But i guess playing the moral high ground and as "fans" who thinks they can dictate what a company must or musn't do is so much fun for these people.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 605

PuppetMaster

@Rich33 Yeah RE3R was still a good RE, much better than RE 6 imho. I'm not sure why Capcom didn't include a lot ot important stuff like boss, locations, and mercenaries mode from the original game. iirc their excuses was they had strict deadline but then why wasted the time & resources for Resistance mode that no one asked for? 🙄

I don't have problem with the scripted Nemesis and one ending though.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 605

PuppetMaster

Finished:

  • Parasite Eve II / Vita
Finally i can cross this game from my backlog. I got the best ending after done all the requirement and i quite satisfied with the ending. Sadly The 3rd Birthday kinda ruined this ending with time travel shenanigans.
  • RE 3: Nemesis / PS4/5
Beat this game again for like the 4th time? After all these years, it still a great game.

Playing:

  • Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge / Hard diff / PS3
  • Soul Sacrifice / Vita
  • Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? / Vita

Have a great weekend everyone 🍻

Re: Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection (PS5) - An Almost Flawless Victory for Fighting Game Fans

PuppetMaster

I have my worries since this collection handle by Digital Eclipse and i was right. I watched Max played and oh boy this collection doesn't deserves a "9 out of 10" score, especially with bad input delay offline & online, bad netcode, audio glitch, constant stuttering, no crossplay, etc.

This is 2025 and Digital Eclipse still doing a bad job for basic features. SMH 🙄

@Knave21 I believes Maxmillian Dood played on PC and the input delay are also bad. So my guess all version are the same.

@Tobimune Yeah. It's the usual lazy job from Digital Eclipse. SF 30th Anniversary Collection also has sh*tty netcode.

Re: As Sony's PS Plus Premium Expands Slowly, Another Dev Announces PS1 Emulation Plans

PuppetMaster

I believe "One" was released for PS3/PSP store and last time i check the game still there at $5 bucks. I personally think it's a pretty decent action platformer but with short playthrough, paper thin story plot and weird ending. There's a strong comparison between "One" and Bruce Wilis "Apocalypse". I like both but i think Apocalypse is a better game.

Also. Fear Effect 2 is schedule for next year

Re: Sony Bend's PS5 Game Cancellation Could Be Seen Coming, Says Ex Dev

PuppetMaster

@Oram77 Yes old Jimbo made mistakes. But to be fair, i think Bend Studio also made mistakes and they needs a big restructure.

I mean, they worked on Days Gone for 6 years and the game was came out with a lot of performances issues and mixed receptions. Fun fact; Days Gone was Bend Studio first and only game for PS4.

After Days Gone, another 6 years has passed and they didn't produced any new games beside Days Gone remastered for PS5 and the project was assisted by Climax Studios. With PS5 generation left at least 2-3 years, i don't see Bend will release a brand new game for PS5.

Compare to other Sony 1st party studios like Sucker Punch who managed to released Tsushima Legend mode + DLC expansion + PS5 version and Ghost of Yotei in the same time frame and both studios also has the same numbers of employee. I'm not gonna compare Bend with ND, Insomniac, Guerilla, or Santa Monica cause that would be unfair.

With how slow Bend Studio works, I'm surprised they didn't get closed down by Sony. But maybe they will if they can't even release one good game that sold well...

Re: Monster Hunter Wilds Doing So Badly That's It's Been Outsold by MH Rise, Devil May Cry 5

PuppetMaster

No news at all for Onimusha 2 HD. I guess it didn't sold well which makes me worried for Way of the Sword performance. Not sure why Capcom never put a physical release either 🙄

But nice to see SF 6 is still selling well. Although i wonder if Capcom tone deaf decision to hide Capcom Cup behind paywall gonna affect the sales...

Don't care for MH Wilds sales. It already sold 10 million copies = Capcom are making $$$$$ from that game.

Re: Sony's Brave Bet on Anime Is Looking Like a Masterstroke

PuppetMaster

@UltimateOtaku91 "people who don't even like anime join in on the conversation like they're experts on the subject"

Yeah i believe these people called as anime tourist? They're acting as if they've been watching anime for decades and they said a lot of nonsense. I guess that's the side effect of anime became more popular...

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Ninja Gaiden 4?

PuppetMaster

I'm not yet played it so i'm not gonna vote. But from some playthrough videos, i feel it could be an 8-8.5 / 10, much better than og NG 3.

@Meowmixes98 To fresh up the franchise?
And at this point in the timeline, Ryu Hayabusha already became a super-legendary ninja that known and feared by everyone. So a new character could shake up the power balance as well introduced some new gameplay.

Re: Sony's Brave Bet on Anime Is Looking Like a Masterstroke

PuppetMaster

@nessisonett It was a gamble for Sony and a fair one too since back then there's no big company who interested on acquiring anime-only streaming service like Funimation and Crunchyroll. That means Sony investment are 50-50 because the sucess is depends solely on anime popularity in the west.

So it's weird to see people like you crying about "Sony's buying the competition" after their investment got paid off.

Funny thing is what Sony did with Funimation and Crunchyroll inspired Nintendo to build their own Anime studio. They bought Dynamo Pictures in 2022 and changed it as Nintendo Pictures.

Re: Sony's Brave Bet on Anime Is Looking Like a Masterstroke

PuppetMaster

I read the manga for some chapters. It was okay but i get it why it's popular.

Sony decision to stick with anime are paying off. But i wish they make more anime adaptation based on their 1st party games. Ghost of Tsushima alone is not enough.

@Moonvalley2006 Japan has a very long history of censorship in their media. Heck, even their porn got censored 🙄

Re: That Promising PS5 Console Exclusive Has Ex-Sony Santa Monica and FromSoftware Talent Behind It

PuppetMaster

Ex PG / FromSoft / Santa Monica aside, i'm fascinated by the setting. This is the first time i heard about Loulan kingdom and the kingdom was actually existed and it used to be an important oasis city for people usually traders / merchants who used Silk Road.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loulan_Kingdom

I wish more Chinese devs used their not well known history / culture in video games.

Re: Sony's Social Media Tribute to the PS2 Borders on Insulting

PuppetMaster

@ItsAlwaysSunnyyy "it's Sony's job to make it happen"

You have the right to complaint for the missing 1st party games since Sony owned them. But it's not Sony's job to make it happen for 3rd party games that they doesn't have any control whatsoever. The final decision would be at the hand on Capcom, Konami, Bamco, SE etc.

And if you think £120 /year is too expensives or not worth the value then you should just unsub and buy the copy from retro stores / ebay. A CIB copy of Xenosaga episode 1 alone could cost $60-70. Or a copy of Shadow Hearts could cost more than $100. It would be worth the value compare to spend £120 /year for PS+ Premium and you don't even owned the games.

Re: Sony's Social Media Tribute to the PS2 Borders on Insulting

PuppetMaster

@ItsAlwaysSunnyyy I think the problem isn't as simple as licensing. There's also lost original source code and 3rd party who doesn't give the permission to Sony, or they think those old games doesn't deserves rerelease.

Capcom for example. At first they doesn't want to release og RE 1-3 for GoG because they think they didn't see the value and believes the remakes offers superior experiences. CDPR did a lot of convincing until Capcom caved in.
https://www.gamesradar.com/games/resident-evil/capcom-didnt-want-to-re-release-the-classic-resident-evil-games-because-we-have-all-of-those-remakes-which-provide-the-superior-experience/

Or Bamco for example. Harada tried to convince Bamco higher ups to do Xenosaga 1-3 HD collection. But they declined Harada proposal because they think the series didn't bring profits.
https://www.gematsu.com/2019/12/xenosaga-collection-progressed-to-the-remasters-plan-but-failed-in-a-profitable-market-analysis

I'm not surprise if Capcom and Bamco aren't the first or last company who doesn't want to port / remaster their old PS1-PS2 games for PS4/5 or current hardware.

And iirc Sony emulator team isn't big. I believes Sony only hired one guy who used to make PCSX2 emulation and he worked together with Implicit Conversion. Since we only got one or two PS1/PS2 games /month, their budget probably very limited.

Re: Loulan: The Cursed Sand Looks Like Another Must Play PS5 Console Exclusive

PuppetMaster

@ED_209 From the blog
"Our core team is made up of veteran gamers born in the ’80s and ’90s. We grew up playing action games and were deeply inspired by classics like the original God of War and arcade action games. Many of us have worked on action titles at studios in the U.S. and Japan, including Santa Monica Studio, FromSoftware, and PlatinumGames. We’re truly passionate about this genre and dedicated to pushing its boundaries."

The team while small only 16 people are ex PG, FromSoft, and Santa Monica devs. No wonder it looks really good.

Re: Sony's Social Media Tribute to the PS2 Borders on Insulting

PuppetMaster

It would be an insult if Sony lies about the classic catalogue has GoW 1 & 2, ICO, TM Black etc. So at least they're honest about the games availability.

PS2 itself has 4344 games, PS1 has 4074 games, PS3 has 2408 games, and PSP has 1974 games. I believe Sony emulator team isn't big so it'll be a long wait to see these retro games for PS4/5.

Re: The Trophies in PS5's Virtua Fighter 5 Look Truly Thankless

PuppetMaster

@MrStark I also got SF V platinum for my Asia and US account. I got 1 mill FM trophy early when Capcom didn't cut the money from completing story, arcade, and survival mode. The hardest trophy for me would be completing survival mode at Hard difficulty before Capcom made it much easier. That trophy was hard but i love it lol.

Re: The Trophies in PS5's Virtua Fighter 5 Look Truly Thankless

PuppetMaster

"You’ll need to play 1,200 matches in total to earn what will likely be the rarest Gold gong"

1200 matches wouldn't be a problem if you really enjoy the game. I mean, i got more than 18K matches in SF 6 with 17K for ranked match 😁

But I got this trophy in VF 5: Ultimate Showdown. I put a good amount of hours in ranked match with all characters pass Defender rank or level 24. I would played more if only the netcode as good as SF 6...

And this version is pretty much VF 5: Ultimate Showdown. The trophies are similar and it also doesn't have Platinum trophy.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Halo: Campaign Evolved on PS5?

PuppetMaster

The answer is No.

I rather put my money towards Terminator 2D, Marvel Cosmic Invasion, Onimusha, RE 9, Pragmata, or Phantom Blade 0. Heck, i'm not yet buy Ghost of Yotei, DS 2, NG 4, Space Marine 2, SH 2 remake and a lot of games in my wishlist. So many games, so little time and money.

I did finished Halo Combat Evolved on PC like eons ago and it's an okay game. I don't know why people so hype for it though. But hey good for them if they love the game.

Re: Capcom Refuses to Back Down on Crazy Street Fighter 6 Pay-Per-View Plan

PuppetMaster

A very tone deaf decision from Capcom esport team which will hurt SF 6 performance outside Japan. I swear, Japanese corporate feels like they're still living in prehistoric era.

I just don't get why they must separate the esport and devs team which only leads to different decisions that will confused / anger the fans.

@Jrs1 Just like the reason why you watch MLB, NBA, NFL / Super Bowl, UEFA Champhionship, Premier League, Serie-A, La Liga, World Cup, or Olympics. Capcom Cup is the SF World Cup at the end of the season.

Professional players can played the game much better than average players. Their matches are really fun to watch where they shows hidden tech and the highest mastery of the game.

Re: Cult PS1 Fighting Trilogy Battle Arena Toshinden Coming to PS5

PuppetMaster

@Rich33 Yeah Bloody Roar is really fun. I only played 1 & 2 though and they are quite unique.

This is actually a good time for a Bloody Roar revival. For 3D fighting games, there's only Tekken and VF right now so the competition isn't as crazy as PS1-PS3 era with Tekken, VF, DOA, Soul Calibur, Def Jam, Tobal, Power Stone etc. If Konami do it right, Bloody Roar could be big.
