Re: Sony Strikes Back at Tencent's Horizon Rip-Off, Says Light of Motiram 'Jeopardises' Future Success

PuppetMaster

"Sony says Light of Motiram ultimately “jeopardises Horizon’s continued success"

I don't think this ripoff would affect Horizon sales in the future. The franchise already sold 38 million copies, build a pretty solid fanbase, and became one of PS most recognizeable IP since its debut in 2017. I'm sure a lot of Horizon fans will still buy Horizon 3 over this ripoff nor they will mistake Aloy with her Chinese counterpart.

But i get it why Sony still wants to delete this copycat...

Re: We're Lovin' This McDonald's x Street Fighter Collaboration

PuppetMaster

It's a cool collab but sadly only exist in Japan.

But I believe this isn't the only SF collab that exclusives to Japan. There's also a collab with onsen / bathhouse chain.
https://www.yokogaomag.com/editorial/steam-meets-pixels-when-street-fighter-ii-takes-over-a-sento

A collab with karaoke chain

A collab with train company

A collab with sushi resto

Possibly one of the biggest reason why SF brand and SF 6 is very very popular in Japan because the collab and marketing are massives. And why Capcom esport division thinks it's a good idea for pay-per-view Capcom Cup :/

Re: Ghost of Yotei Is Sony's Biggest PS5 Launch Since Spider-Man 2 in Europe

PuppetMaster

@DadJKP "No actual real concrete sales numbers are out"

Famitsu 1st week showed Yotei at no 1 with 120K copies sold, physical copy only. UK chart showed Yotei at no 1 and EU chart showed at no 2 in the 1st week.

It's not a far fetch to say it sold really well despite Sony not yet show worldwide numbers.

"Sony has already started winding down online adverts for the game"

That's what the grifters said lol

"So no, sorry, no one is wailing or gnashing their teeth at being "owned" by this article"

Clearly you did gnashing your teeth if not you wouldn't go this far lol. Keep seething buddy.

Re: Ghost of Yotei Is Sony's Biggest PS5 Launch Since Spider-Man 2 in Europe

PuppetMaster

@UltimateOtaku91 Yeah I don't get this either.

These people keeps saying PS5 is the worst PS generation because it lack of exclusives and single player 1st party games. They claim they sold their PS5 and doesn't want to buy any PS games / console anymore.

But in the same time, they are grinding their teeths and doesn't look happy when exclusive 1st party single player game like Ghost of Yotei sold well.

What are these haters wants exactly??? It's really confusing 🤷‍♂️

Re: Battlefield 6 Is a Smash Hit in First Sales Report, Selling Best on PS5

PuppetMaster

@AverageGamer "You mean that they can continue to be lazy and not optimize?"

Ah yes because Zelda BotW and TotK for Switch looks very smooth and optimized right? They doesn't have performance issues like frame drop from 30 to 20 right? That's why Nintendo didn't port both games for Switch 2 right? Lmao. Nintendo themself can't even optimized their own games for Switch.

Even games that doesn't require a lot of optimization doesn't played well on Switch. Old shmup games for example has more input lag and slow down on Switch compare to PS4.

Sorry to say but this "3rd party devs needs to scaled down their games to cater to the lowest common denominator" idea is just dumb af. Period.

Re: As Fans Demand inFAMOUS Remasters, Sucker Punch Says It Can Only Work on One Game at a Time

PuppetMaster

@CRASH64 Yes not every games needs remakes. But it's a fair game to remasters old games that still stuck with old hardware, especially when those old games are fricking expensives nowadays. I would love a remaster of Haunting Ground, Rule of Rose, Galerians, Koudelka, Shadow Hearts, and Tales of Destiny since these games are quite rare and can cost hundreds of bucks.

Re: As Fans Demand inFAMOUS Remasters, Sucker Punch Says It Can Only Work on One Game at a Time

PuppetMaster

@wildcat_kickz "but I don't understand why Sucker Punch is acting like they need to remaster games themselves"

This is just my guess. But after Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time doesn't sold that well / received less positives than Sly Cooper 1-3 and Sly Cooper 1-3 port for PS4/PS5 has some performance issues, possibly SP feels more comfortable if they're handling their own games including remasters and ports.

Re: Sony's Bluepoint Studio Recruiting for Third-Person Melee Action Game

PuppetMaster

3rd person melee action and puzzles could be anything though. If we're looking at Sony's catalogue only, i believe Alundra, Primal, Mark of Kri, Medievil, Shadow of the Beast, Genji, Heavenly Sword, and Folklore are focus on 3rd person melee action and some puzzles here and there.

I would be really happy if it's a new Alundra Shadow of the Beast, Medievil, Genji, or Folklore. These IP's deserves another chance.

Re: Complete Your Physical Copy of Ghost of Yotei with a Fan-Made Manual

PuppetMaster

Yeah i really miss manual booklet 😔

The sad thing is games are more expensives, $70-80+. But most publishers not just didn't include manual booklet anymore but physical games are less physical this days with DRM / must online authentication and lazy AF* artcover.

Gone are the days where physical games feels as if you owned something special like a piece of art that will stay in your collection for years...sigh 😔

@Oram77 MGS 2 manual booklet is better than MGS 1 imho. It has Shinkawa artworks and characters bio but it also has a cool short manga that shows Snake infiltrate the tanker while explaining some basic gameplay mechanics.
https://metalgear.konami.net/manual/mc1/mgs2/pc/en/page03.html

And Puppeteer on PS3 also has cool manual booklet that looks like picture books for kids. It's just awesome and i'm glad i still owned it.

Re: Battlefield 6 Is a Smash Hit in First Sales Report, Selling Best on PS5

PuppetMaster

@AhmadSumadi I see. At least Yotei is selling well which is the opposite of what the grifters said.

@AverageGamer I'm sure most devs are doing just fine with only PS and PC userbase. Many games doesn't has Switch version and they still manage to sold well. In fact, without Switch version, many devs are avoiding the headache of scalling down their games and can focus more on the best optimization.

I'm sure Rockstar doesn't need Switch 2 for GTA 6 to sell more than 100 million copies.

Re: Control Dev Remedy Issues 'Profit Warning' Over Live Service Spin-Off FBC: Firebreak

PuppetMaster

@SeaDaVie "The problem with this is it would mean companies basically never change lane or try new things"

Capcom says halo. They pulled out a survey and asked the fans what they want from the company. And lo and behold they still tried new things like Exoprimal, Kunitsu Gami, and Pragmata while in the same time they're still making sequels / remake / remaster from their established franchise. Asking what the fans wants doesn't mean devs can't try new things.

With FBC, Remedy not just didn't satisfy any of their fans but they also go far beyond their specialty; from making a single player game to a multiplayer only game.

It's a very big gamble and Remedy could lessen the risk if FBC has a single player story campaign that doesn't require playing online. If the fans like the campaign then they could try the multiplayer.

And From Soft already did hard dark fantasy RPG's with King's Field series which was their first IP and one of their longest running franchise before they made Souls series. Demon's / Dark Souls is pretty much King's Field spiritual successor. Beside King's Field, From also did Shadow Tower and Eternal Ring that has the same vibe as King's Field and Souls series.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 602

PuppetMaster

Put FF VIII Remastered on hold. I just lost interest with this game again. VIII and XIII are probably the only FF games i ever played where i lost interest multiple times. But last year i managed to finished XIII so maybe someday i can finish VIII...

Anyway. I just ordered a second hand copy of Deus Ex: Human Revolution for PS3. I spent around $3.5 for the game. So i'm gonna played it when the copy arrived.

I'm also playing:

  • Super Double Dragon. Bought it for $1 from PS store sale and i had fun with the game. Although the enemy variety is kinda weak and the hold & counter as well the charge mechanic feels kinda OP.
  • Double Dragon IV. Playing the tower mode and i can only reach 20th floor haha.
  • Yakuza 6. I'm replaying this awesome game again, my 2nd playthrough. Currently on Chapters 6, tracking Haruto's "father" in Kamurocho. It's just funny cause Kiryu already meet the real father and punched him in previous chapter.

Have a great weekend everyone 👍🍻
