@Oram77 I'd say they will finally release a patch for Silent Hill 2 after the new PSSR is released somehow making it more unplayable. Classic Konami.

Ignorant question: what will it offer over a regular Pc that doesn’t force the ugly Xbox logo on us? Backwards compatibility? Access to the Xbox store? (that’s hilarious if Steam runs on this)

The game is really nice and it has bonus value in its storytelling if you are attached to the series. I hope they don’t give into the stupid backlash it got from internet Joe

@Deadlyblack there is definitely something in what you are saying but I also think that on top of that:

• the average pc isn't built around these tech-intense kind of single player gaming experiences and the games will run kind of meh compared to the console experience, so less "wow factor". Yes, elite hardcore pc gaming bla bla but ...let's be real.
• games were not released day and date, missing that "new hot thing" factor.
• pricing and rampant piracy - Xbox games are successful on PS because PS players are actually used to buy games.

I was raised on consoles and I was definitely considering moving to PC only next gen, since they were publishing everything on it after a year or two...I guess this decision makes sense.

Ah, Starfield...I did find it dreadfully slugghish and clunky but also very Bethesda-ish in good ways. Would recommend only to true Bethesda lovers.

They definitely benefited of Sony's publishing and I think it's a good fit for PS's portfolio but hey, good for them! As long as we can play a great sequel, I am on board

It makes total sense, tbh. Push the multiplayer stuff and don’t dilute the console appeal with ports. I’ve read a lot of commenters wishing for this style of approach.

@Propaperpusher I am interested in talking about videogames. The fact that this, a well made single player game, is somehow worse than Link’s crossbow training, a glorified mini-game, is just factually wrong. Even a child with zero knowledge about the videogame industry could tell you that more care, time and resources went into this project. So please don’t engage in conversation with me just because you are obsessed by a company and/or want to bash another especially when you have clearly no idea of what you are talking about.

This is a cool side project - if anything, Sony should do more of these. If there is a place for Link’s crossbow training and Mario Paint, I am sure we can see there is no harm in these lesser titles.

Square releasing this kind of side-project titles anywhere has significantly reduced my need for a Nintendo console.

I swear I don’t understand some of the commenters…you may not like the style but nothing about this is “abhorrent” or “atrocious”. Personally I think the art style is very cool!
People called Wind Waker ugly at the time anyway, so I guess I should not be surprised.

I managed to get 3 of my friends very engaged with the game and we have nice play sessions - the game is really well made and supported but still in the shadow of the inferior MK World.

Love, love Okami - easily one of my favorite games ever. I am thrilled it is getting a sequel and would love to conjure up the time to celebrate the 20th anniversary with a replay of the PS4 remaster.

I have the game and the physical guidebook - I recommend the book to everyone, it’s easily one of the best game guides I ever got, and I have been playing RPGs for a little while 👵🏻

I hate the practice but I do feel Metaphor would greatly benefit from an enhanced version - fingers crossed we will get an expansion of some sorts

For all the fuss that was made about it, it has one of the best battle systems of the series, if not the best, and an awesome battle theme. A lot of elements from 13 are present in the FF7 remake project but I’d still be up for it on PS5.

I also hope we get OD on PlayStation too. As Microsoft is now publishing anywhere and Kojima’s fanbase is strong on PS, it would be strange if we don’t get a PS version, though.

It’s really strikingly similar on a visual level. E33 has taken a lot of “inspiration” but at least it shuffled things around a bit

@rockodoodle I am so sad Sonic didn’t take the award thing but it’s doing good. I get what you are saying, I just think Crossworlds is an all around better kart game overall, but esthetics and vibe do a lot for me in games so... Enjoy the Nights event

@Weez How is it not different, though ? You are bringing generative ai into a creative process that did not rely on it. Would you say that spinning ideas for a movie script “by combing and transforming existing ideas, repeatedly refining them to fit the vision” would not different with AI thrown in the mix? Those ideas come from the real world and fiction - films, books, and yes, other artists work, yes, but they are processed in meaningful, surprising and unpredictable ways by human thought and creativity. I am fully onboard to let AI do menial tasks nobody really wishes to be doing but concept art or writing are entirely another area.

I can’t stand any kind of bashing bandwagon but I have to say that the “use of AI to develop concept art” does not sound any good. It could be very different but leads one to imagine concept artists riffing on or giving their own spin to images churned out by generative AI.

Yes, I do remember 18 months ago they were telling us it would be just 4 games: they clearly don’t know what they are doing and, particularly for such an enormous company, it’s wild.

I am glad I could theoretically play some of their most hyped games on PS but I still haven’t bought a single one due to crazy release schedules

@ShogunRok I mean when you have to play part one in order to enjoy part two, it could only sell less than the first one no matter how good it is. And third will sell less than second
