Sony promised a hefty State of Play for the 2nd June and I think it mostly delivered in terms of overall quality. The majority of you would agree with me, going by the results of our post-show poll.
But what was the standout PS5 game from this latest event? That's what everyone's here to find out.
It goes without saying that there are two obvious frontrunners here: Marvel's Wolverine and God of War Laufey.
Both of these first-party titles were handed lengthy gameplay demonstrations. The former was billed as the showcase's headline act, while the latter was meant to be the big surprise right at the end — except its existence was, rather annoyingly, leaked weeks ago.
I think it's going to take some seriously unexpected support to beat out either of those games — but you never know!
Indeed, plenty of other upcoming PS5 releases looked great during this State of Play. Rayman Legends Retold was simply picturesque in its reveal trailer, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis looked like a proper Tomb Raider revival.
Strong stuff from Sony's third-party partners, then, and that trend continued with Onimusha: Way of the Sword from Capcom; another top trailer, a release date — finally! — and the launch of a playable demo made it a highlight.
On top of that, you've got the likes of Silent Hill: Townfall and Control Resonant to consider, while for some viewers, I reckon 'smaller' surprises like ILL and The Lost Wild will have struck a chord.
And hell, I almost forgot about Until Dawn 2. Yep, it's actually happening, and we even got to see a decent chunk of it.
