Well, if you wanted full blood and gore in your Wolverine game, Insomniac is clearly ready and willing to give it to you.
We already knew Marvel's Wolverine would be a mature title with plenty of blood spilled over the course of the action adventure PS5 title, but the volume of claret splashed about here is off the charts.
Anyway, if bloodshed doesn't put you off, it seems like Logan's upcoming game is shaping up very nicely indeed.
As expected, this is a single player, linear action adventure game, but we have some new story details. Our main man Logan is on the trail of some fellow mutants who have been kidnapped by a militia group called the Reavers.

On his journey, he'll run into some other well-known X-Men faces, like Jean Gray and Sabretooth.
Perhaps the most impressive thing about the gameplay footage is the animation; there's a crazy amount of stuff going on at all times, and there are lots of contextual takedowns amid all the chaos.
It looks great, as expected from Insomniac Games. The game is still on track for its 15th September release date, and you can pre-order the game now on PS Store.

I loved that gameplay, was fantastic. but that was way too many cutscenes. Hope the gameplay will be more like the actions scenes they showed, not all the time interrupted by cutscenes. If they deliver that, it will be a GotY candidate. I hope what they showed was something like the prologue, that would make sense to have that many cuts.
Hmm could Arkham finally have worthy competition?? Yeah ok, Spidey was decent enough, but this is seriously next level s**t 🙂
Looks a bit meh. "Cinematic combat" is getting old imo. Will probably try it out when it goes on sale.
Looks fantastic and they clearly have taking inspiration from the X-Men Origins game with the lunge and real time healing stuff. Very hyped.
Yeah, ok. This looks amazing. And they got Jean Gray on here? I’m sold.
@DennisReynolds I really like that mechanic, looked really good and hopefully it will be fun. Also curious about the abilities on CD and how many/upgrades.
Gameplay looks solid. The story looks intriguing with a lot of stellar set pieces. Nice cast of villains too.
But no collector’s edition on the PlayStation Blog?
Only standard physical and a digital deluxe.
This just looked amazing to me. Insomniac have been incredible this generation already, and it looks like another can't miss game from them.
I want this to be good, but all combat and nothing really else was shown. Is it level based? Open world? If all I am doing is smashing the Square button the whole game then I am going to pass.
Insomniac can't miss I smell goty incoming sorry GTA
It was bloody, gory, and violent...I loved it!
As much as I really like Wolverine I do hope we get to play a little bit as a couple of the others. I was hoping for Collosus to smash some people in the face and run through some walls but Sabretooth might be good for some of that.
Maybe Juggernaut will be in there. Nice change of pace for Wolverine to fight someone he can't slice and dice.
snikt
Looks awesome, but the one thing that kept bugging me….
Why was Wolverine able to heal himself when he was shot when standing next to Leech?
I loved the gore, it just feels right for Wolverine. Might play it!
I already sold and this trailer just scream take my money!
@SKMonkyDeathCar They already said this isn't open world.
God Bless you Insomniac for making Logan looks so chodey
3 Insomniac games in 1 generation. Well done!
@ShadowRJ If you know the character Leech, how are you not aware of Wolverine's healing factor? He's always been able to heal from damage almost instantly unless his powers are being dampened or some such.
Oh man that looks deliciously crunchy!!
