State of Play June 2026 Poll Results 1

In the aftermath of Sony's latest State of Play showcase, a general consensus appears to have formed: that was a very strong presentation, even if leaks robbed the show of its biggest moment.

God of War Laufey would have made an even bigger splash if it had been a complete surprise, and there has even been murmurs and speculation surrounding an Until Dawn 2 for some time now. However, I do think Santa Monica Studio did manage to claim back ownership of its reveal by making it 23 minutes of gameplay, cutscenes, and set pieces.

That was a smart move.

Right after the livestream finished, we gathered your immediate reactions in a Poll. Of over 6,500 votes — our biggest sample size to date — 70% of readers responded positively to the State of Play. That percentage breaks down into the following picks:

Down in the comments section, Mattock1987 called it "one of the best [showcases] in a while", and Andykara2003 went one step further as "one of the best showcases" they've ever seen.

Afroducc was satisfied with the Rayman reveals (complete with a Rayman profile picture), and UltimateOtaku91 named their highlights from the show: God of War Laufey, Marvel's Wolverine, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.

Ainu20 found themselves in the 30% that didn't love the livestream, writing: "I wasn't too impressed to be honest. God of War did a lot of heavy lifting, but as good as it looks, I'm concerned about how MCU-era Marvel it felt. The continuing radio silence from Naughty Dog has me worried, I have to admit."

I've taken a look back through our archives at the responses to past State of Play livestreams, and here on Push Square, at least, this week's showcase is the second-highest rated one to date. The only one to be received even better than it was the previous show, February 2026, which had an 82% approval rating.
