These games leaked like nobody's business, but Ubisoft has now officially announced a duo of new Rayman projects for PS5.
The first and most prominent is Rayman Legends Retold, a reimagining of the beloved side-scrolling platformer with new, 3D visuals.
It seems to be largely still a 2D game, albeit with three-dimensional models and environments, but there are clearly some segments in this remake that veer behind the characters as well.
There's also voice acting and proper cutscenes this time, so there's a greater emphasis on storytelling too.
I guess one nice thing about this is that the original Legends is still there and still great, but this new interpretation looks really cool too. It's obviously pretty different from the original game but, I dunno, I don't mind it. More Rayman is always good in my book.
Not to be forgotten, there's also Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, a more straightforward remaster of the predecessor to Legends — and an excellent 2D platformer in its own right.
Nothing's really been shown of that, but we do know it'll render the game at 4K and 60 frames per second, and will include haptic feedback and various quality-of-life improvements.
It'll be available standalone, or if you get the deluxe edition of Rayman Legends Retold, it comes packaged with that too. Both games are out on 1st October, 2026.

Being honest i forget this was a remake as it looked like a completely new game. The new visuals are stunning.
Looks way better than I expected. I didn't like Origins at all and quit it after a while but want to try this.
I would have preferred a proper new game, but in fairness it does look very different for a remake.
@Scottyy If it helps, I enjoyed Legends quite a bit more than Origins.
As I said in the comments of another article, I really don’t see the point in this.
Ubi took away the fantastic esthetic of the original game, and is going to sell the exact same levels for a hefty price, with adjustments here and there. While the PS4 version of Legends is still playable for everyone and hasn’t aged a bit.
After so many years waiting for a new Rayman project, I’m beyond disapointed to see what Ubi is offering us right now.
Of all the Rayman games they could have remade, 2 and 3 were the obvious ones and their choice went to Legends. Poor and unimaginative.
@ThroughTheIris56
It definetely helps. I will give it chance. Thanks.
They nailed the art-style. It instantly cleared all my “why was this remade?” doubts.
Not really my thing but the Rayman fans are eating good 👌
This one pleasantly surprised me as I really enjoyed Legends, but was unsure what to make of a remake (and the 3D rumours), but it seemed to work well.
Looking forwards to seeing more of this closer to launch.
I just hope it gets delayed to avoid the September/ October bloodbath...
I’ll take whatever new Rayman game I can get.
While this does look good, I’m still confused by it. The hand drawn Ubi Art of the original was beautiful. It didn’t need replacing. I would have much preferred this to be a brand new Rayman game where this new style and creativity could be fully realised.
This looks legitimately great! Happy to see it's not a 1-to-1 remake. Love the switch to 3D.
I think the game looks fantastic and I'm all for more Rayman. The original game is still available in case anyone doesn't want the remake.
Graphic looks pretty for sure but the original game with the 2D hand painted art style looks a lot more gorgeous to look at.
Also, it feels kinda weird to hear Rayman and his friends talking in human language. They usually talk gibberish.
I’m in the camp not quite understanding the reason for this particular remake, and yet at $40 for this with the Origins remaster included, that feels like one helluva steal.
