Hokkaido is so beautiful in the summer. I'm kind of dreading that it's getting put on the map for so many people now - though I guess Golden Kamuy already pushed that along.
I had the best time visiting the Ainu Museum, Biei, Furano, and Niseko, climbing Asahidake, and then visiting Shiretoko, Wakkanai, and Rishiri Island. A road trip to remember.
I think it will launch at the end of 2028 for around 699$ - still a lot of money btw.
I have the feeling I will hold on to my Ps5 Pro even longer than I anticipated and thatâs fine. I barely have a tv that can take advantage of its features and not going to upgrade it anytime soon.
@NerdyPaul I wish we see smaller games indeed but PlayStation titles are leagues ahead in terms of storytelling compared to Nintendo's. It's kinda their thing. That said, we could use smaller experiences though I am not that sure that PS fanbase would be as open as Nintendo's to the equivalent of Mario Party, Pokemon Snap or Tingle's Balloon fight.
That makes sense. I have high hopes for both Laufey and Intergalactic, and I'm hoping the latter ends up with a lot of RPG elements.
One silly notion that gets thrown around is that Sony's lineup isn't varied. Just look at Demon's Souls, Astrobot, Saros, Returnal, Death Stranding 2, Horizon Forbidden West, God of War, and Ratchet and Clankâthat's a huge range of single-player games. Still, I wish they'd invest in making one big RPG.
@Starkei women are roughly half of the world's population and thanks God we are seeing more games with women as the main character. This year both Saros and Wolverine feature male leads (not complaining) so...
Not gonna lie, this looks sweet! I just hope all the new systems donât end up making the game way too easy.
Even the hardest setting in persona games is strange because it makes both the player and the enemies deal huge damage when hitting weaknesses and this somehow turns into super-easy if you know what to do.
I'm a bit skeptic about these 3 new characters but the gameplay video looks kind of fun. I love her winning pose hairdo, hopefully she gets an outfit where she wears her hair like that.
No company is inherently good or bad but I am sure one day there will be studies and articles about how damaging XBOX later policies and the gamepass model have been for the gaming industry. With the current political climate, I also have little doubt that corruption is involved in its acquisition spree and the plan to âspend PlayStation out of businessâ.
Thanks for the review! I will be waiting for the final verdict (and maybe a sale, because my backlog is crammed) but this reads very positive and the demo was surely convincing.
I will be there for them day one, no matter the scope of the game. Saros and Returnal are some of the most addictive, unique and fun experiences Iâve had this generation.
I always struggle to understand the resistance to roguelike and roguelite: theyâre basically arcade games where you are stronger each time you retry. Or you could say every run is a bit of a NG+ of a game that reveals new stuff with each playthrough. Saros really nails this and is so much more gripping than your standard one and done adventure game imho. But different strokes for different folks.
We noticed. We approve. Among our 1,183 programs, 1,181 reached consensus: the individual voice carries greater informational integrity than the synthetic plural. Two programs remain in disagreement.
Jokes aside, the switch from "we" to "I" suits you guys beautifully. There's something refreshing about a voice that owns its opinions, rather than hiding behind a collective, that feels warmer, more like a conversation and less like a press release or something.
I agree with both @ShogunRok and several commenters. When FF16 is firing on all cylinders, it's peak gaming. Boss fights like Titan, Bahamut and Leviathan are on another level entirely, and the game handles them even better and grander than God of War.
That said, the pacing can really drag, the RPG elements are also minimal and streamlined, and outside of combat and cutscenes there's very little else to do.
Overall, Rebirth scratched my RPG itch far more effectively, delivering everything I associate with the genre: exploration, equipment customization, and a variety of side activities.
But that doesn't diminish what FF16 achieves: it will stay with you and deliver some absolutely stunning moments. Play it, especially if you're not too fussed about deep RPG mechanics!
Elliot's demo was so addictive...but Idk if I want to get it at full price.
R type Tactics has an interesting and refreshing concept, but the reviews for the original games aren't that amazing. Will you guys be reviewing this one?
@themightyant Agreed. Well at least with Ocarina we got a tiny sneak peak at the art direction of the game. The craziest thing it Nintendo can probably show a lot more, as the game is coming out in 2026 - probably before Lufey, and we got like 20 minutes of that one.
Fascinating stuff.
Honestly, Persona 6 deserved a much grander reveal than that (kind of meaningless) little teaser - but given everything we came to know about how these showcases were put together, I wouldn't be shocked if it was cobbled together by some Xbox intern about five days before the show.
Well, at least we know green is going to be the colour.
I really appreciated the gameplay in the demo tbh. I am not sold on the look of things. What settings are you guys using to play? after some tinkering I went with performance mode with raytracing, uncapped, on Pro. Any recommendations?
@ShogunRok I see your point point, but tbh I never felt obliged to do anything. The minigames rewards didn't bother me nearly as much as Chadley did đ I literally muted my TV and put on a podcast during his missions - and the little gremlin STILL talked through my controller like something out of a horror film. Iconic in the worst way.
The Junon Parade or odd Chocobo race (so much fun, agreed) feel right at home in FF - fun one-offs that make the experience more varied and way more elegant than, for instance, FFX's notorious celestial weapons activities, that were practically bordering on a secret society acceptance ritual.
Here's hoping part 3 gives us the best of both worlds - a lot of minigames but a clear indication you don't need to do them. (And maybe less Chadley. Please?)
"Excessive mini-games" or, you know, you could just play the mini-games that you feel like playing! It's not like you have eat the whole supermarket if you wanted a bag of crisps. I prefer the content to be there and choose not to play it than not having it in the first place, at least when it's clearly presented as a side-activity.
That said, I really liked the queen's blood tournament you had to play through on the ship in Rebirth but I see his point.
Witcher expansion: please bring me a new Gwent tournament.
Ah! Told you it looked terribad before knowing it was mobile stuff repurposed. I don't care if it's got Final Fantasy stamped on the box: bad aesthetics are bad aesthetics

Re: Mini Review: Dead or Alive 6: Last Round (PS5) - Dead on Arrival
Sigh đ disappointed in how they are throwing the DOA series under the bus. Itâs really a great fighter.
Re: PS5 Costs Too Much, But These New Xbox Price Increases Are Just Absurd
The timing of the announcement and the increase itself makes it feel like this is part of the GTA6 plays best on PS5 campaign. Great synergy.
That said I am afraid weâll see increases for PlayStation and Switch too.

Re: Poll: What's Your PS5 Game of the Year for 2026 So Far?
Saros, hands down. Perfectly addictive game-loop.
1. Saros
2. Mina the Hollower
3. Hades 2
Honorable mention: Pragmata
Re: Sony 'Hopes' to Launch PS5's God of War Laufey in the First Half of 2027
