@get2sammyb
Just received an email from the Housemarque CEO, mentions PlayStation, facing new challenges and taking on vastly different genres.
Not had an email from them in ages, so interesting timing?
I think the Konami - Kojima bridge is well and truly burned, but hey, stranger things have happened! Would be nice to see a MGS remake, assuming they stick with the original story and voice actors.
@ApostateMage
I did prefer the characters and narrative for P4 Golden overall. P5 has made some obvious improvements for the fighting system, I think.
But story is king for this sort of game so I agree with you. Would definitely be tempted to replay it.
Needs Jim Ross (WWF) commentary every time there's a foul and someone hits the grass. "OMG, he killed him!!" "AS GOD AS MY WITNESS, HE IS BROKEN IN HALF!"
How well does the game lend itself to those who are spectating? I often play these big story focused games with my wife. But sometimes it's just endless combat for some games between occasional cut scenes which really isn't ideal.
@get2sammyb Looks pretty amazing. I don't uppose Ellie can pick up that Vita and start playing on it? If you don't answer, I'm definitely going to assume that's top secret info and she can, lol.
I wonder if Sony will ever give trophy support to some of these classics like their patent suggested. I like that you mentioned Vandal Hearts, always been one of my favourites, I still have the disc. Has a great story.
@LiamCroft Make sure to play the expansions, matey, they are absolutely brilliant. So many get distracted and don't come back to play them but they're better than most full games, the story telling is truly excellent.
@RogerRoger Nice write up, thanks. I used to be quite into Star Wars, (read a few of the novels, there are some really fun ones) but got SW fatigue when they churned out film after film and the reactions that came with them. I'll definitely try to give this a go. The first game as bare bones as it was, was quite entertaining.
@Futureshark Interesting to know thanks, I might be tempted to give it a go. I think it will always be known as the game that made much of the world say enough is enough on microtransactions.
@themcnoisy Yes, definitely more popular. I think you're right, they seem to compliment each other pretty well by catering to such different audiences. Maybe we'll get something even better though for the other game.
It's all subjective, I suspect it will be a more popular choice than Farming Simulator was. Unusual that they've only revealed one game, I guess they're still deciding on the other one.
Crimes and Punishments was really good fun so fingers crossed, hoping this will be as well. I gave TDD a pass, let's hope that wasn't a sign of things to come.
I don't see why people want to know all the details so urgently. It won't make the console come out any more quickly. Timing is important, I think they know what they're doing better than we do.
@TheArt True, I think the focus was definitely on the machines as you say. I think some of the characters you mention have potential. Would be interesting to see them fleshed out a bit more.
I wonder how well this game will lend itself to a comic book narrative. There's a lot of things HZD does really well, but I felt it didn't have many characters that were particularly interesting. By the game's end, outside of Aloy and mysterious / suspicious man, there's no one living who's all that memorable. But hey, maybe this is a good opportunity to create those characters.
@get2sammyb I thought it was great, nice to see someone offering an opinion on this sort of news unlike a lot of large sites where there's little to no personality to the pieces.
I actually joined this website just on the run up to E3 2015, you guys must have been pretty good at building the hype for it, seems too much of a coincidence. Although I do recall you running a rumours article, I think the night before? Which was pretty much bang on but essentially saying, "There's no way this is true! Someone's on the wind up!" Was all very entertaining I have to say.
Easily one of the best games ever made, very few games come anywhere near the story telling in this game. Great interview! Fingers crossed Cyberpunk 2077 is just as amazing.
I preferred it when we got lots of indie games on ps+ but everyone has different tastes. I might give Cities: Skylines a go but honestly I've still got quite a backlog so I don't mind that it's not a game that I'd be jumping up and down to play. The farming game seems an odd choice but it's something a bit different I suppose.
@Wesker Yes, fingers crossed for a big overhaul, they admitted themselves that they're too formulaic and were looking to change so you never know. Going by that cutscene, they're definitely not going for realistic.
Did that guy just casually remove a sword that was completely embedded in his leg and then carry on fighting like it was nothing!? He'd be lucky to not be dead within seconds from a catastrophic bleed, let alone carry on.

Re: Rumour: Resogun Dev Housemarque Targeting PS5 Launch
Fingers crossed, I do love the Housemarque games. Resogun was PS4's best launch game so maybe they can pull it off with PS5 as well.

Re: Mini Review: Project Warlock - A Slick Homage to the Retro FPS
Fun looking graphics, always been a big fan of Doom so this one does look interesting.
Re: The Last of Us 2 Director Unsure of What's Next for Naughty Dog
Definitely time for something new for their next major project, I think.
Re: Mini Review: 1971 Project Helios - A Tactical Title with an Interesting World
Sounds decent, nice review, might have to pick it up at some point. Always loved a decent turned based isometric game.

Also, it's always helpful to know the install size for games!

Re: How Well Do You Know Final Fantasy VII?
I only managed 13, tough quiz!
Re: Sounds Like Bloodborne Will Release on PC
I'd get a remaster, love Bloodborne, easily one of my favourites.
Re: Resident Evil 4 Director Comments on Rumoured PS5 Remake
It's a long game, might be expensive for them to remake.
"Not enough cash... stranger."

Re: Can You Name These PS1 Games?
@AdamNovice
Obscure!? No way, man! Ok, the chicken game definitely was, lol. Never seen that one before.
Re: Can You Name These PS1 Games?
@sciteach
My friend got Silent Bomber and asked me to play it co-op with him as I recall. I don't recall finishing it either but it was fun.

@sawaoyamanaka
Yeah, I had a lucky guess on that one.
Re: Can You Name These PS1 Games?
Oh man, this quiz brought back some memories, I love it! Managed to score 11, not bad!! A few tricky ones in there.
Anyone wishing for another quiz, your wish has been granted:

Not as good as this one though of course, PS1 had some brilliant games, feeling all nostalgic now..
Re: Death Stranding Was a Sales Success, Recent Kojima Project 'Fell Through'
Glad to know it did ok, I'm looking forward to playing it eventually.
Re: The Last of Us 2 Tracking Better Than Spider-Man PS4 Pre-Orders in Europe
@Octane
Worst of all time, mate. Future, past and present across the multiverse. Still have my pre-order though, just a bit curious to check it out.

Re: The Last of Us 2 Has Everyone Talking About PS Vita
I was playing my Vita last night, it's brilliant. Excellent choice of game there, Hotline Miami was a perfect fit for the Vita.
I'm guessing the scene was meant as a bit of dark humour as HM was all about going on crazy unstoppable killing sprees against evil gangs.
Re: Rumour: Second June 2020 PS Plus PS4 Game Leaked Early

Interesting to know thanks, I might be tempted to give it a go. I think it will always be known as the game that made much of the world say enough is enough on microtransactions.

Yes, definitely more popular. I think you're right, they seem to compliment each other pretty well by catering to such different audiences. Maybe we'll get something even better though for the other game.
Re: June 2020 PS Plus Game Is Available to Download Now on PS4
Well, this site gave City: Skylines 8/10 and Call of Duty WW2 7/10, so I'm not sure if huge improvement would be the term I'd use.

Re: Talking Point: What Free June 2020 PS Plus Games Do You Want?
At least one cross play title so I've got one ps+ game I can play on my Vita. You never know.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with the Way Sony Is Handling the PS5 Reveal?
I don't see why people want to know all the details so urgently. It won't make the console come out any more quickly. Timing is important, I think they know what they're doing better than we do.
Re: Talking Point: What PS5 Games Do You Expect at Sony's Next-Gen Reveal Event?
Some exciting ideas there but I'd probably be more excited by a new Housemarque launch game.

True, I think the focus was definitely on the machines as you say. I think some of the characters you mention have potential. Would be interesting to see them fleshed out a bit more.

That's good news, cross buy games almost always end up on sale. Only way to get a vita game on sale these says.
Re: Interview: Looking Back on The Witcher 3 with Lead Writer Marcin Blacha
Easily one of the best games ever made, very few games come anywhere near the story telling in this game. Great interview!
Fingers crossed Cyberpunk 2077 is just as amazing.
Re: Mini Review: Thy Sword - Thou Shalt Enjoyeth This Roguelike
Looks quite fun, would it be fair to assume this is cross buy title?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 324
I'm hoping to play Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 4. Fingers crossed!
Will probably have to settle for FF7 though.
Re: PS5's User Interface Could Help You to Plan Your Game Sessions
I do often wonder how far it is to the next save point. But at least we have standby mode these days.
Re: Reaction: Sony Needs to Show Us a True, Next-Gen PS5 Exclusive After Lukewarm Inside Xbox
Last two generations we've seen something awesome from Housemarque as a launch game, so hopefully we see that again with PS5.

Frank Klepacki, that C&C soundtrack is legendary. Good spot!
Re: Instead of Buying IPs, THQ Nordic Is Now Swapping Them

If I put my sensible hat on, then yes, I agree.
Re: Instead of Buying IPs, THQ Nordic Is Now Swapping Them
Let me know when Sony & Nintendo swap Uncharted for Mario. Then we can witness the the Internet explode in a fireball of anger and fury.
It will be glorious.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for May 2020?

Re: Random: Uncharted Cast Reunites for Delightful Zoom Chat
I don't usually bother watching these sorts of things but this is actually brilliant.

Yes, fingers crossed for a big overhaul, they admitted themselves that they're too formulaic and were looking to change so you never know. Going by that cutscene, they're definitely not going for realistic.
Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Launches on PS5, PS4 in Holiday 2020
@Wesker
Sadly, they know all too well that as long as the game isn't awful, the name is big enough to sell by the bucket load, regardless.
