I don't mind, makes little difference to me. But I won't be buying until I've read reviews from places I trust. It is advantageous that they get to dodge any negative reviews or valid criticism in the most profitable period if they release games this way.
I can understand why open world games are so enticing for so many. I spent a lot of time playing Fallout 3 and Oblivion, lots of memorable moments in those games and it felt like an adventure. I didn't experience that in Fallout 4 though. Improved graphics but no real soul to it. It just didn't capture my imagination, however much I wanted it to. But plenty of people who loved it, so it must have done something right.
I love Furi, such a great game. I listen to the soundtrack all the time, easily one of the top video game soundtracks ever. I think they need a bigger budget to do a solid adaption but I wish them the best and hopefully they have fun making this.
Great to see this game still receiving the love and appreciation it deserves. I'm still waiting for Konami to remaster the original Vandal Hearts though. Maybe one day.
@KidRisky No problem. There's a reddit thread from 4 months ago that recommends games that still work. Not sure if I'm OK to share links but I'll risk it here. This is the thread.
I used the app to buy the games, no idea if that makes any difference. I'll probably buy some more at some point, I've popped skullgirls 2nd encore on my wishlist as that's had great reviews. Hope the above helps.
@KidRisky
It's brilliant to have some 'new' games for my vita, I'm loving it. Be careful though, many vita games have been delisted over the years, so it's worth carefully researching if certain crossbuy games will still be added to your vita download list before buying.
If I purchase Twin Breaker, can I download it to the vita? I thought the days of buying games for the vita were finished. Would be great if there is a work around here.
The first two games were fantastic, loved them. Will always have fond memories of those games and the community that existed for it. Was great being a part of it.
I didn't think much of Infinite, it was ok but very overrated. I appreciate these things are subjective and I'm happy for those who enjoyed it more than I did. Still waiting for the Bioshock game that was promised for the Vita!
@breakneck Interesting, I wasn't aware, I haven't played those games. Thanks. Also you have Sports games that make money from in game advertising on billboards such as Fifa, which has been doing that since 1994.
I guess that explains why the latest protagonist is wearing branded trainers while piloting a branded space ship. Curious on the financial agreement there and how much it will help fund the project.
Those classic Tomb Raider games take quite a bit of skill and perseverance to play through. Very impressive for someone not into video games. Excellent choice of game series though of course. Great read, thanks for sharing.
Agreed, Vandal Hearts is an easy 10. Would snap that up if Konami re-released it on PS5. Such a brilliant game. PS1 remains my favourite console, so many brilliant classics.
Haze definitely wasn't awful, it just didn't live up to the hype. The only thing that was awful was it meant we didn't get any more Timesplitters games.
I'll probably pick it up down the line once the price drops a bit and it's been patched. I enjoyed the previous game and it sounds like this is a nice step up in terms of story telling which is always a good thing. And a shift to a linear approach is probably for the best I'm guessing.
Very interesting, would love to play some of these games again. But the price for what you get isn't particularly tempting, sadly. Might watch out for a sale if that is at all likely.
To be honest, I don't even know what the game is about. Just that it's online only and you fire guns and I'm not even sure how accurate that is. I do feel really bad for the developers who put so much hard work into it though. Must be very frustrating to see something you worked so hard on not doing well.
Interesting to hear the story telling has improved. Unexpected as I felt this was by far the weakest point of MH Worlds, where the characters felt plain and boring. Which is fine as the monsters are of course the star of the show, but a more compelling narrative would be great to see.
I see the first Blood Omen game has been on gog for a few years. Would be nice if it was available on Playstation as well, seeing as it's a ps1 classic.
It was a fun card game. Pretty easy but the interactions were entertaining. Hopefully we can challenge Sephiroth to a game, that would make a perfect ending to the story.
As soon as I saw the price tag they were paying, I thought the decision looked absolutely bananas. I feel they could have snapped up several far more talented teams for that money. But I just play video games and the Sony bigwigs, they clearly had a masterful plan in mind. I haven't seen any sign of it yet.. maybe it was more of a gamble? Time will tell.
Easily my favourite of the Steamworld games. The first one was great on the vita. Would like to see them add a bit more depth to the game but I'm sure it will be much fun regardless.
