Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 629

Still at it with Crimson Desert! 65 hours in and I’m still in the first area and loving every minute!

Also bought Ground Zero to play on the side, which I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys old school horror games like the original Resident Evils

My co-op game at the moment is Ready or Not but we’re also going back to Abiotic Factor tonight for our Saturday night Multiplater game.

Re: Poll: Do Crimson Desert's PS5 Patches Put Other Devs to Shame, or Is the Game Simply Unfinished?

Kiefer-Sutherland

The game wasn’t unfinished at launch. It was perfectly playable and I had very little bugs. What they are doing now is listening to the community and changing things around player feedback.

If they delayed the game it would have still released in a similar state to what was actually released at launch.

Listening to player feedback is what is making this game better and I’m all for it.

PlayStation 5] Applied Upgraded PSSR Native AA to Quality Mode on PlayStation 5 Pro

What does this mean exactly? That the game is still running at native 4k? Because I was hoping they’d lower the resolution and then upscale the quality mode with PSSR instead, just to keep the performance at a solid 30fps at all times.

Also it’s a tiny nitpick but it did annoy me how all of Kliffs friends immediately recognised him even with a full helm covering his face, so I’ll be nice to hide it!

Re: Re-Releases Go Too Far with New PS5 Version of Darksiders 1

Kiefer-Sutherland

I wouldn’t mind if they were actually decent upgrades. I played the PS5 version of Darksiders 2 on my pro and still got framerate drops AND screen tearing.

Also when DSII was released on PS5 there was a sale on and I got both DS and DSII on PS4 for £6.99, which then allowed me to upgrade to the PS5 version for free. Meanwhile they were selling the native PS5 version on its own for £24.99. So keep an eye out for something like that when DS is out.

I have about 6 games on the go which is unusual for me!

I’m currently playing Crimson Desert which I’m loving so far. I’m breaking that up with a bit of Dead Space and Trail Out on the side.

I’m also playing Dragonkin: The Banished co-op with my brother and we also have group multiplayer sessions on Saturday night in which we are playing Abiotic Factor and Toxic Commando

I’ll throw in Overwatch 2 as well because I’ll most likely chuck that on for a bit too!

Re: Crimson Desert (PS5) - A Generational Open World Buried in Early Access Cruft

Im playing on quality mode on pro and aside from when it’s raining at night in town or I’m going through a river the frame rate has been pretty solid. It’s also a steady 30fps with no frame pacing issues.

Also for anyone wondering. if you press the left stick to group an item it puts every item that’s similar into a group in your inventory. It’s basically one slot that you can then click on and scroll up and down its content. It’s good for sorting out posters and books. Despite what the review said it makes the inventory much more manageable.

I’m loving the game so far.

Re: PS Plus Essential Game for April 2026 Leaked

I played this game co-op with my brother just after the 2.0 release and the game ran so poorly online we kept having to put it on hold. I think it was something to do with the auto saving that was causing major pauses every few seconds. If that’s been fixed then I highly recommend it!

It did run perfectly in single player though.

Re: Dev Pledges to Make Crimson Desert 'Even More Enjoyable' as It Sells Over 3 Million Copies in First Week

I’m really enjoying it. The controls aren’t even that bad once you get used to them. I’ve also seen people saying it looks bad, even on the pro and I have no idea what they are smoking. The game looks amazing to me and you just want to explore everywhere. The side quests at the beginning aren’t very exciting but that doesn’t bother me because if it means heading off to a new part of the map I haven’t been too yet then I’m happy!

Re: Hands On: Crimson Desert Runs Well Enough on PS5 Pro, But What About That Intro?

Kiefer-Sutherland

Played it for about 3 hours and really enjoying it so far. The controls may appear complicated at first but I’m slowly remembering what does what and seeing as I plan to see most of what this game has to offer it’ll all become second nature by the end.

I loved Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and Dragons Dogma 2 and so far it feels more like those games then Witcher 3 or Skyrim.

Anyways, no real complaints so far except one bug where I threw a bounty target I was carrying and I couldn’t pick him up again. Had to reload my save but luckily it auto saved a few minutes before.

Overall though this game just keeps impressing me with the sheer amount of things you can do and also just how nice it looks. I don’t really get the hate to be honest.

Lastly, as for the disjointed quests. Story wise, Kliff just so happens to be walking by these people who need help. The quest markers are there solely for players so they are not walking around aimlessly. Kliff doesn't know he’s off to rescue a cat.

Tonight we’re putting Abiotic Factor on hold to play some Toxic Commando multiplayer, which looks like it’ll be a fun time. I usually also have a single player and co-op game on the go but I’m holding out until the 19th to play Crimson Desert and Dragonkin: The Banished so don’t want to start anything too big.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 623

I decided to buy The Knightling because it was half price and jump in blind. Glad I did because it’s a bright, vibrant old school adventure game with a big open world to explore with side missions, puzzles, dungeons and collectibles. Only negative so far is the lack of a lock on during combat, and a very slow block that makes parrying quite difficult. But I still highly recommend it, so far it’s been a pleasant surprise.

My single player game is Resident Evil Requiem obviously! It’s not bad so far, although I’m actually finding the Grace sections rather frustrating with a lot of trial and error when it comes to the enemy’s. I’ve died a lot lol

Then it’s some Abiotic Factor later tonight as my group multiplayer game.

Also be playing Towerborne co-op which despite its simple graphics is probably one of the nicest looking games I’ve seen in a while. I just like how colourful and clear it all looks

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 621

Kiefer-Sutherland

Currently playing Towers of Aghasba which I took a gamble on when it was on sale. Hasn’t been a bad game actually. It definitely has some Jank to it, but it looks nice!

I’ll Hopefully be done with that tomorrow and will be moving on to Crisol: Theatre of Idols which from what I played so far will be a really good game.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 619

My single player game at the moment is Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. I’m enjoying it but I find some things really annoying. Poor hit detection, the jump button sometimes stops working and a couple times I’ve been hit by something and flat out died even though I have gems.

If I finish that I’m gonna move onto Killer Frequency which I’ve been wanting to play for a while and for £3.99 you can’t go wrong!

I’ll also be playing Wayfinder co-op with my brother. I went into this blind and I’m rather enjoying it. It looks really good and the combat is satisfying. Only negative so far is the performance isn’t amazing in the bigger areas with frequent stutters.

Then later tonight I’m gonna be starting Abiotic Factor which I’m excited for.
