Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 551

Starship Troopers Extermination - Still having a blast with this game which I am preferring over Helldivers 2. There’s just so much more going on and I really enjoy the base building and defence sections.

Palworld - Super addictive although I’m a bit underwhelmed by the games graphics. The characters and Pals look good, but I’ve seen some of the worst textures this gen. Luckily the gameplay makes up for it, especially playing co-op.

Silent Hill 2 - Not much to say really. Impressive remake that remains faithful to the original while expanding on certain parts. Enjoying my time with it and can’t wait to play more

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead - Bought this on a whim and so far I’m pleasantly surprised. Definitely not as good as Alien Isolation but it’s still a well made game. It also looks much better than I thought it would graphically although I find the monster walking animations off. It’s like they’re sliding on the floor at times.

This is basically the game me and my brothers dreamed of growing up watching the film. It is a bit rough around the edges and there is definitely less coordination then HellDivers 2, but it’s great fun. The bug corpses hanging about after being killed is a great feature and when piles of them stack up against a base wall the other enemies can climb up them. Just like the film!

Giving Pal World co-op a try later and then I’ll be playing some Harvest Moon Winds of Anthos tomorrow along with some 7 days to Die in the evening. Also be popping on Starship Troopers Extermination for a bit too, which is a fun game. Seeing as Sunday and Monday is my weekend I’ll be playing Silent Hill 2 all of Monday as well.

Re: Mini Review: Funko Fusion (PS5) - Bland, Cryptic Nostalgia Bait Lacks LEGO's Charm

Kiefer-Sutherland

I am unfortunately playing through the game right now and aside from the novelty of seeing all the characters and game worlds it’s a slog. I started with Hotfuzz on my second profile and for a split moment I thought this could actually be a decent game so started playing it on my main. Also, maybe it’s just me but I’m finding the game to be quite difficult. The lack of level checkpoints and unskipable cut scenes also drags the game down a lot. You have 3 lives and once they’re gone it’s game over and back to the start of the level. Other things like using items is a pain too. A quick heal would be good, but you have to navigate over to and equip the healing item and then hold square to use it, hoping not to get hit by the infinite spawning enemies. Graphics look nice though.

Edit: Also, the story is very barebones and the cutscenes start and stop so abruptly that it ruins the flow of the game. Every time a cutscene starts it’s like being hit in the face with a pie.

Edit: Does anyone know if it’s possible to change worlds at any point? I’m stuck playing the Thing and I want to change it up.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Black Myth: Wukong?

Kiefer-Sutherland

@scoobdoo Have you even played it? Because if you can beat the game just by pressing X that’s impressive. Even more so if you played the PS5 version because that’s the default jump button.

There’s plenty more to every fight then just hitting attack and you know it. Other wise you could say the same thing about Demon/Dark Souls, God of War and Devil May Cry.

Re: PS5, PC FPS Concord's Poor Player Numbers Have Predictably Gone Viral

If they made a new killzone, socom, resistance or whatever that’s still catering to a specific audience. Maybe people don’t like military shooters and want another 3rd person adventure game like Uncharted or a racing game like MotorStorm or Gran Turismo. I’m not a big fan of Killzone, yet if they released a new one I wouldn’t go into every article about it hoping for it to fail. I would just ignore it and hope the next Sony game is for me.

Re: Hunt: Showdown Banishes PS4 Version, Boasts Unreal Engine 5 Visuals on PS5

Kiefer-Sutherland

@Frmknst Coming from the PS4 version there’s no denying there is a big upgrade to the graphics. Not that I would have ever called Hunt a bad looking game anyways. As for sterile and empty maps, I don’t know what more they could do? They are perfectly suited to this type of game and packed with tons of interesting highly detailed areas to explore that are pretty atmospheric (especially at night). Plus the open areas make for tense gameplay as you run across them hoping no one is watching you. Out of curiosity, How would you improve the maps?

Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns

Kiefer-Sutherland

I’m interested in the game but am definitely waiting for PS5 reviews. I’m hoping it isn’t another Cyberpunk though. I have a feeling the game won’t be anywhere near the quality of the PC version, otherwise why would the developers not want to show any footage at all. If they had it running on consoles at the same level (or close) to the PC version surely they’d want to show it off as it would be one of the best looking games on PS5.

Re: Concord Pre-Load Available Now on PS5, Post-Launch Roadmap Revealed

Kiefer-Sutherland

While I didn't much enjoy the beta, I don’t go into every article moaning about the game wishing for it to fail. But yeah, it’s so bad reading all the entitled comments here complaining because Sony isn’t making a game they want. Just get over it and move on. I don’t even think it’s constructive criticism anymore, like people claim. It’s just hate.

Re: Mini Review: The Mortuary Assistant (PS5) - Prep Bodies and Banish Demons in This Terrific Horror Title

Kiefer-Sutherland

Beat the game, getting all endings and it’s very good. Gave me chills a few times actually. My only complaint is that the scares start repeating quite quickly and while it’s not such a big deal with the smaller ones (demons/ghosts hiding or watching you) because they always get me, it does get a tad annoying seeing the same story scares throughout the multiple playthroughs needed for all endings. The ones that make you stop what you’re doing to view them and won’t let you continue until it’s over.

Re: PS Plus Essential Has 3 More PS5, PS4 Games to Download Now

Kiefer-Sutherland

Been wanting to play Lego Star Wars for a while so I’ll give it a go. I already own Security Breach but it’s actually quite a challenging game. Reminds me of Alien Isolation with the limited saving. I gave up with it because it was quite buggy at launch but hopefully they’ve fixed it all now. Definitely worth a try.

Re: Two Star Wars Outlaws DLC Packs Set for Fall and Spring 2025

Kiefer-Sutherland

Jesus. Everyone complaining about them adding new content later on down the line. This doesn’t mean the base game is incomplete. Just because they plan ahead so people who enjoy the game can get something new later on doesn’t mean everyone is getting half a game at launch. Oh, it’s Ubisoft better complain even though this is common practice among most developers

Re: Preview: Ignore The Haters, Concord Is a Good PS5 Shooter We Can't Wait to Play More Of

Kiefer-Sutherland

I don’t get the hate from people who come in here saying they hate multiplayer/team shooters. That’s the problem. This game wasn’t made for you so just move on and maybe the next Sony game will be something you enjoy. I hate sports games yet I didn’t go into every article about MLB The Show and say how bad the game will be and how I hate it. I just avoided anything written about the game.
