How selling at a faster rate than your previous racer is not meeting expectations, unless they're beyond unrealistic, I'll never know lol. Still easily my favorite kart racer. It controls amazing, the musics great, most of the tracks are super fun. Even tho the final stretch of final laps can get annoyingly chaotic. It's still a lot of fun especially when you manage to overcome all the gloves, slimes, shurikens, silver surfers coming to take your top spot 😂
The way i used to think xanadu looked extremely amateur and cookie cutter whenever id see it on sale lol. Tbh I still have no real desire to play it but now knowing it comes from falcom, I should at least give it a try at some point
@Flaming_Kaiser no lol its just that little system in place to guarantee you get an item/character of the same rarity as the character you want or the item/character you want itself after you have pulled a certain amount of times. You can see on the banner screen how many pulls you need to guarantee an s rank character. Some call it guarantee, some just call it pity
Honestly didn't want any of the idol girls but with sunna apparently being good for ye and aria being an anomaly ether, im praying the black haired one is like defense for a character I don't have or something lol. And all the freebies would be nice if they hadn't taken all my luck in exchange. Losing 50/50 after 50/50 and having to go all the way to 90 pulls just to trigger pity has not been fun
Mopping up side quests in the original Trails in the Sky before continuing on chapter 3. Im pretty close to the end it seems and its been every bit of a masterpiece that Zero was, idk which I like more
Also making progress in the Nioh 3 demo. The series has not let me down and so far between the demos, 3 isn't stopping that trend. I'm very excited to see the full games open areas. Still not super keen on splitting up samurai and ninja but I'm getting used to it
And lastly making more progress in DK Bananza. I've now 100%'d around 8 layers. And my opinion mostly remains the same, it's so good when it wants to be smart about how you go getting bananas. But for a lot of them, it goes the Odyssey route and simply puts them in easy spots with not much platforming, puzzle solving, and just having an actual objective to get to it beyond smashing rocks for literally the millionth time lol
Could never go back to that clunky ui and ps store. That alone was worth upgrading to a ps5 in 2020. Let alone the super fast load times. Ps4 genuinely feels like an ancient console at times
It's kinda ridiculous to think about the strong possibility that the game likely wouldve fared better from the get go, if geoff hadn't used it for the last reveal of the show
I'm so ready for this game and I'm glad we get another demo even sooner. I loved the alpha demo even if I wasnt too keen on switching between samurai and ninja. But I'm sure it'll grow on me
Kinda got interested in this game when i saw a clip of the player free falling off a cliff and down below were pretty forest trees. Like it seemed too good to be true and now I want confirmation lol
Gonna progress the original Trails in the Sky. I'm close to finishing the prologue. Love the music, the characters, the presentation. Combat is as fun as ever. The story is still early days but I'm invested already
And I'm also gonna try to beat the everdark bosses in this rotation for Elden Ring Nightreign. That Tricephalos boss is being a huge pain
@rjejr I actually need to see gameplay 1st, I vaguely remember these bright colored girls running around in a greyish area lol. Altho, I consider xcx open world compared to the main trilogy if thats the comparison. And that being said, they kinda did add a gacha system into xb2 with the blades so I'd imagine that's sorta what a xenoblade gacha would look like from monolithsoft 😂
I'm obviously gonna give it a go but what really sold it to me was someone saying it wasn't really an open world but more open areas like xenoblade lol. I don't see myself sticking to it like the 3 hoyo games plus wuwa tho
Now to actually get myself caught up as well lol. I started the original trails in the sky yesterday and I'm already loving it. Very reminiscent of trails from zero which I thought was a masterpiece. Also love the style so much, I wish SE would use something similar for their 2d games instead of always HD 2D
I got it for 25. I'm kinda glad I didn't pay more than that tho, it's still not grabbing me the way I'd hoped. It's still pretty fun but I feel like all I'm doing is looting lol
Tbh i was already working on this at the end of last year, but for this year and probably beyond, i basically just wanna add and remove games into my rotation based on what I'm feeling at the moment. If I start up an rpg and the next day I feel like playing another rpg. I'll do that instead of thinking I should finish the 1st rpg before starting the 2nd. If some days after, I get a platformer itch, I'll just start playing it, etc. There's just too many games not enough time haha
Am now fully in a multiplayer mood so the 2 games I'll mostly be playing are mp games. I think I've finished all of the standard bosses in Elden Ring Nightreign. So gonna be doing some of those repeat fights that seem like they're gonna be harder versions of them and I'll try out that endless night one too. Very fun game
And I finally got Arc Raiders. Still early and I think I'll enjoy this one a lot more further on but rn at the start, it's very confusing. Most of my matches have been just hoarding a bunch of stuff I have no idea if it's useful or not, then dying near the end at the elevator and losing it all plus my guns. That parts not fun lol. But I'm slowly learning my way around the game. Gonna continue on
I don't think it looks that much like clair obscur at all. It's just one of the very few of its kind to do graphics above that of your average turn based jrpg so it ends up looking similar to like the only other one out there
But also that expressionless face at 2:53 lol. That didn't seem like a calm stoic face but more like they didn't give the character model an expression during what looked like an all out attack 😂
Enjoyed Wilds and am enjoying Nightreign despite both having disappointing aspects to them. They're still a ton of fun. I might have to go with Nightreign as my best action game cause I get that one more run feeling
I tried to get into it with the demo but just don't understand how it works. It's enjoyable enough solo I guess but I get smoked online. Great music tho
With the way this list is going perhaps we could see monster hunter wilds make it in which I wouldn't even mind 👀
@DennisReynolds oh if it has life sim elements I could see how someone would get addicted to the gameplay loop. But yea I was thinking these quests have to be crazy good for you to want to do, what looks like, skyrim type of combat for hrs against mostly humans
I'm curious to try both 1 and 2 someday but I don't understand how one could play hundreds of hours of what looks like skyrim without the monsters dragons and magic. How does that not get repetitive quickly
Honestly I'm looking forward to playing arc raiders next after I just recently bought and played elden ring night reign. It's been super fun planning out the route we'll go to kill some bosses and get stronger along the way till we reach the 3rd day
Tbh the demo sold me but not necessarily as a day 1 game. My mind could change but it just seemed like a 3rd person shooter with an extra step even if that extra step was actually pretty fun. I feel like the part that sold me the most tho was the dad daughter moments sprinkled in the demo lmao. It could be really heart warming if the story is good
Nioh 3 easily of what's already announced and it's coming very early 2026 so who knows what else the year has in store. After that I picked the lego batman game just cuz an arkham style lego batman could be seriously fun. Then MH Stories 3, code vein 2, and phantom blade
That was awful and no better than the recent state of play lol. I wasn't even expecting anything except for a Sega announcement and apparently that was total war
I'm sure the game has a ton of issues as did multiple cods beforehand but why does it feel like the moment it became Microsoft's ip, the whole world just straight up turned against it ðŸ˜
Lower than usual cause I got my pc this year. Like I hadn't played marvel rivals for like half a year and yet it's my most played game along with the 4 gachas lol. Next year might be even lower but eh, what can ya do besides hope Playstation finally gets it together
I mean one of their comparisons is DQ3 remake doing worse than 11, when 11 did its 7 million sales lifetime over years while 3 remake did its 2 million within like some months. So it can still grow altho releasing 1&2 so soon could affect both tbh. They also claim rebirth cost less to make than remake and XVIs dev cost is honestly so reasonably small I have no idea how that couldn't be considered a success. It's just such a weird, inconsistent and kinda unbelievable presentation
Continuing on Tales of Graces F, the game has opened up a lot now with plenty of events and side stuff to find in older areas. I love the writing and combat so it's been fun exploring every single thing
And I also restarted Sonic Frontiers. When i 1st played this I wasn't really in the mood to play games, so I think it negatively affected my view on the game and also never finished it. But on this 2nd try, things are going so differently I'm shocked lol. It's such a wonderful game. I adore all the mini platforming segments sprawling around this open free zone to run around in when i used to think they were randomly thrown all around the map with no rhythm. And it helps that sonic actually feels great to control. I remember feeling like it had some jank to it but this time I don't feel it at all. Great music as usual, tons of collectibles, fun open areas to explore. Stages are short but sweet. Combat has also been fun with plenty of options. Easily one of my favorite modern Sonic games
I enjoyed my time with it a lot. I don't think it's a bad game at all but definitely a disappointing one in many ways. I plan to get back into it but on pc on a good sale. Hopefully by that time the expansion is close to releasing so I can just have a ton of content to get thru

Re: Code Vein 2 (PS5) - Repetitive Vampiric Soulslike May Still Sate Your Bloodlust
It's reviewing similarly/slightly better than the 1st which is honestly a really fun game. Altho this is the 1st im hearing of no co op which is one reason I was excited for this in the 1st place 😩. And the female character designs are not a negative lol

Why couldn't the Ye skin be free it's so much better. Also my luck went down the drain with this game, I barely just managed to get Lucia and yidhari after losing the 50 50 on both. I lost for dialyn. My only saving grace is I now have Ye guaranteed 😩
