SEGA seems set on ensuring Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds fans have plenty of reasons to boot up the release.

Hot on the heels of last week’s Hatsune Miku Festival – where you could unlock various themed goodies inspired by the Vocaloid star – the publisher has announced that Steve and Alex et al from Minecraft will be reaching the starting line on 8th October.

You’ll need to own the Season Pass – which comes with the Digital Deluxe Edition – to gain access to the characters, but everyone will be able to participate in the Minecraft Festival starting 9th October.

Some fans are arguing that these promotional periods may be coming a little too fast.

Nevertheless, it’s clear that SEGA is going to put a lot of post-release energy behind its kart racer, with Pac-Man, Mega Man, and more all on the way.

We hope the game’s successful enough to see a second Season Pass, as there’s a ton more characters we’d love to see added here.

Either way, we’re loving the game so far, and reckon it’s an awesome alternative to Mario Kart World, which obviously isn’t available on PlayStation at all.
