Elden Ring PS5 PS4

FromSoftware has made the decision to delay the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring to 2026, with the knock-on effect being the bonus items contained within this new Tarnished Edition also having been pushed back on PS5, PS4.

The updated version comes with two new starting classes (Knight of Ides and the Heavy Knight), extra armour sets, and additional customisation options for your mount, Torrent. These items and features will be offered to PS5, PS4 owners in a Tarnished Pack on the same day the Switch 2 version launches, but now you'll have to wait until next year for it.

It isn't known if this DLC pack will be a free add-on or paid for.

In a social media statement, the developer said it needs more time to make "game performance adjustments". Earlier in the year, it was documented how poorly Elden Ring runs on Switch 2 — particularly in handheld mode.

Presumably, this delay will enable Elden Ring to perform better on Switch 2 when it eventually launches next year. "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to all users who have been looking forward to the release of this title," FromSoftware continued. "We will continue to make adjustments to deliver it in the best possible form, so we kindly ask for your understanding. Thank you very much for your patience."

As a result, those bonus items and features will come to Elden Ring on PS5 and PS4 at some point in 2026 instead.
