@Elodin There are offers on the PS store in the UK and on other sites, just not as cheap as that one, so it might be worth keeping an eye out if there are similar offers in the US drop in the coming days.

@OM1993 Different studios can get different things out of their games, just because one developer can hit 4K 60fps on one game does not mean suddenly it is possible for all games going forward. There could be something in one game which uses extra resources preventing it hitting 4k 60fps consistently to make the game stable to play. There could be dozens of reasons for this too, and that was just one example.

Just got an notification from Amazon and Demon's Souls is £44.15 which is the cheapest I've seen it.

Really enjoyed the first game and this looks good. One to keep an eye on and see how it turns out when people get to play it.

I will watch this a bit later when the 4K footage goes up on YouTube. Whenever I've watched these things 'live', the picture quality has always been a bit rubbish.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order PS5 version and another random ps4 game I already have.

I don't remember last year's events, but I'm not one that usually gets hyped for these types of things anyway. I do what I usually do and watch the stuff that interests me after the event.

Strange, I've just read on another site the patch adds haptic feedback support too.

It would depend on the price for me. The sites that do it currently are double the price of a normal controller, which is too much IMO.

@colonelkilgore You might wanna try and a smaller title first if you are unsure if you will like the genre, something like Enter the Gungeon is often on sale and can be found really cheap. There were loads of good reccomendations in the Returnal forum thread, so you might wanna check that out.

@colonelkilgore There is hardly any platforming in Dead Cells, so would not class it as a 2d platformer.

Enter the Gungeon was recently free as part of Stay at Home, that would be a good introduction to the genre of rogue lite/likes.

Just had Returnal handed to me by Posty, so will be diving into that shortly.

@Gavin_Newsom I was a bit late getting a 360, so i would have possibly played them in the last 2 years of that gen. I generally do not got back to games I've previously played, as I rather play games I've not experienced before. It would have to be a special game for me to pick up a remastered version of something I've played before, something like Metal Gear Solid, Dark Souls or FFVII. I thought the Mass Effect games were good, but not outstanding so are not that special for me.

No, and I don't intend to either as I played and completed them already on 360.

Isn't it always slim pickings in terms of exclusive games this early into a generation? Covid-19 has delayed things too, so people need to respect that a bit more. Plus most PS4 games are boosted on PS5 too or have a standalone PS5 version, so for some people that is enough, along with the exclusives we already have and that are incoming. So I don't get that complaint.

As for the game, I will be getting it but maybe a bit later in the year during the darker evenings.

@JJ2 Yeah my dad bought his ps4 about 6 months after me, and his didn't have the glossy finish on one half, had physical buttons for eject and power and wasn't as loud as mine. Wasn't a pro or slim either.

@nessisonett In some games they are now paid for dlc, like extra finishing moves in fighting games. Not exactly cheats codes I know, but the same kind of thing. And the only thing I can think off the top of my head.

There are deals to be had for PS Now too, so it is not like you can only get Gamepass on the cheap. My current sub cost 30 quid for the year.

In terms of this months games, pretty tidy selection. Nioh most people rave about and I've been wanting to give SoR4 a go for ages now. Never heard of that Jump Force game before but may give it a go at some point.

Hmmmm come to think of it, every game I've played on PS5 has soft crashed at least once. More of an annoyance than anything else, as the games load up so fast. If there is an issue with the console, hopefully this brings it to Sony's attention and they can fix it.

This looks like a real advancement over the last game, not just by how good the graphics are but with what is happening on screen too. Not sure if I will get it day one however, depends on what else I'm currently playing.

@RubyCarbuncle Maybe it is when you said it was a 'stupid fanboy comment'? Not exactly very friendly, is it? It's not a dig, MS has deeper pockets than Sony, hence why I said they can't compete with the studio acquisitions. Besides I'm not sure I would want Sony to follow suit, I'd be more happy with a couple of smaller developers that they have worked closely with before.

Yeah good plan, seeing as they can't compete with MS with the studio acquisitions. I think we will seem more third party exclusives too for PlayStation.

I've already seen enough of the game to know that I will be getting it eventually, so demo or any other media regarding the game for me.

It's the jet engine Sony took out of the PS5 which is missing from the PS4.

Like the designs of some of the enemies. Not sure if the combat will be my thang though.

Yes, but not necessarily waiting for a sale just for when I'm ready to play it. It does look all kinds of awesome though, but I've never clicked with Housemarque's previous games. This does look like their Horizon Zero Dawn however.

@djdizzy Sorry man, I meant to say i don't see what tech there is for a PS5 Pro to be needed. I've edited my post. Doh! Yeah, I love my PS5, such a massive improvement on my OG PS4. Demon's Souls was such a joy to play with how gorgeous it looked, how buttery smooth it felt with the 60fps and the super quick load times. The controller overall is ace too, feels really comfortable to use.

@Ithinkyousuck I've been saying this for awhile now. When the PS4 pro came it was to was so you could play games in 4K as it was getting extremely popular. I don't see what tech is there for a PS5 Pro to be needed. Native 8K? Maybe, but I don't see 8K being at the stage 4K was when the PS4 pro came out.

If I get a game on PS Plus/Now or dirt cheap and I've really enjoyed it , I will sometimes buy some dlc to show my support to the developer.

No, but I never replay games I've already completed. The only expectation to this would be if there was an MGS remake or something like that.

I have fond memories of playing this on my Master System, so will defo pick this up at some point. Really enjoyed Wonder Boy The Dragons Trap but have yet to play Monster Boy. There is a new game coming out in the series - Wonder Boy – Asha in Monster World. Looking forward to see how that one turns out.

Bit of a warning sign that it wasn't available to purchase until earlier today and they were very late in confirmingthe release date. Did think that was a bit odd that you couldn't eve pre-order it. Which probably saved some people a bit of dollar.
