Always felt that Square Enix were never fully behind the studios in the West, so something like this probably makes sense for both sides, as long as job losses are kept to a minimum.
I find it a bit crazy people stacking up on subs just to get a good deal without knowing what games are going to be part of the service. Surely it won't be a good deal if you end not liking it and not using the service? 🤣
My PS Now sub ends the sometime in June with Plus ending sometime in August, so I guess I will have Premium until August. Can't see myself using it for any of the retro games though, but the demos might be useful I suppose.
Really depends on the title. Something like FFVIIR was an exception to the rule, where I had not played the original for almost 20 years and was a special game to me. But most of them I tend to not bother with if I have already played them.
I've got that Nepheli bug too. Right nasty one too.
Also yesterday I loaded up the game yesterday and I had died straight away, and it looked like I had fallen off a cliff or something. I wasn't near one when I quit the game. When I loaded my save and beat the boss I was attempting, the marker for my runes was at a part of the map I've not been to yet. Oh well only about 16.5k worth of runes, so not that bad.
Eh, suppose they could do better with that kinda stuff, but I never pay much attention to what is officially said anyway, as it is mostly marketing and PR fluff.
I've enjoyed them all so far but I have yet to play Borderlands 3, which I would want to before getting to this. Tales From the Borderlands is my favourite though.
Nah, Returnal was my GOTY for last year but after spending about 180 hours getting the platinum trophy, I can safely say I am done with the game. I also traded it so no longer have the game. Hope everyone enjoys the new content though!
Still interested in it. It was never gonna be a day 1 for me anyway as I knew I would still be balls deep in Elden Ring and other games I've not played, so it will be many months before I get round to it.
The awful characters and dialogue from playing the first demo was a big turn off for me. Usually I can look past such things if the gameplay is good enough, but it was not for me, so get a hard pass.
Not seen any them yet and don't plan to either. Interested in Ghostwire Tokyo but have seen enough of that, and Returnal was my GOTY last year but no longer have the game and doubt I will be going back to it.
This game is ticking all the boxes for me and has it hooks deep into me. Can see myself sinking close to 200 hours into this. Sure there are technical issues, although playing the native PS5 version I've not experienced the worst of them, they do not distract from just how good the game is to play.
FromSoftware games should never have difficulty settings. People who reject this argument don’t seem to understand it’s not about elitism or even a general position taken on difficulty settings. It’s specifically about From games, where the fundamentals of the games – your stats, inventory, weapons, clothes, even your location – are inextricably informed and given meaning by the challenge. If you add an easy mode (beyond the difficulty-easing measures already there) you risk making any of these elements trivial. I’ve lost count of the number of games where the decisions you make in respect of any of the above lack weight or meaning. A game shouldn’t be forced to compromise on its fundamental principles in the hope of a bigger audience when thousands of games out there already do.
Also I think some are lumping accessibility and difficulty together, but they are different things people.
30 hours in and am about level 25ish. Beat Margit earlier today and explored Stormveil Castle, upto just after the second Banished Knight. Who I think are the Elden Ring version of Black Knights. Think I've done most of the NPC side quests in Limgrave and beaten a few of the underground dungeons. Loving the exploration, sense of discovery and the emergent gameplay in the open world, and not having a gazillion map markers pop up.
I will probably be classed as a heathen for saying so, but I would pick this up over Gran Turismo 7 any day. I don't play that many racers any way, and the ones I do tend to be the more arcadier ones.
Hmmmm, not sure i like the sound having to be in the sun to keep you immunity up. @LiamCroft How bearable does that get the more you upgrade? Things like that always do my head in. Kinda reminds me having to keep popping pills for Malaria in Far Cry 2. This is still in my radar, but I was always gonna get it a later in the year. Hopefully most of the bugs would have been squashed by then.
I'm a bit torn on this one. This acquisition is a lot better than MS buying up whole publishers with a load of developers with them, and keeping the games mulitplatform is a good, very un-Sony like move. I also like that the messaging has been very clear.
Just not sure with there being more acquisitions down the line and what that will mean for the industry going forward. It was pretty inevitable in all honesty though. Not to say all acquisitions are bad, and I prefer to judge each one on their own. Guess we will have to wait and see on that one, but it feels like it's gonna a bit a dog eat dog world for video games.
It also one of the first times Sony has gone down the shortcut route, having not worked that closely with Bungie previously. I totally understand the reasons why and no doubt Sony and their first party studios will gain a lot from Bungie's experience with FPS games and GaaS.
It is one of the reasons I'm thinking of cancelling my PS Now sub, due to not being able to upgrade to the PS5 versions most of the time. Will wait until we see what Project Spartacus before deciding though.
Sure, nothing is off the table at this point. But the more I've thought about it the less I think it will happen. Sony will probably just double down on their third party exclusives and first party output.
I can see only 2 viable options for Sony. Try and compete and buy a publisher also. But I don't think they can afford to do that Or Gamepass to be on PlayStation.
It all depends on the game for me. Journey was an enjoyable experience at only a few hours long but I also enjoyed sinking 180 hours into Returnal. So I don't think there is an ideal game length for me. I have a bigger issue when a game starts to feel repetitive and I become bored with the game, but that could be after 5 hours or fifty.
Have zero interest in Persona 5 but may add Strikers to my library if I ever fancy something a bit buttons mashy. Will defo add Dirt 5 as that has been on wish list since it was released.
I would still take this with a pinch of salt. After all, they (along with others) got the Switch Pro stuff wrong, so I wouldn't take everything that comes out from Bloomberg as gospel.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Games for May 2022?
A good month for me as I've not played any of them for once.

Re: Poll: What Do You Expect from Retro PlayStation Games on PS5, PS4?
I have very little interest in retro games and won't be subscribing the Premium tier, so couldn't care less what they implement.
Re: Tales from the Borderlands Sequel Announced, Spins a New Yarn in 2022
Oh wow, a surprise for once and not something that was leaked beforehand.
Really enjoyed the first game and was a true comedy video game, something that is quite tricky to get right.
Re: It Takes Two Movie Officially Underway at Amazon, and The Rock Is Involved Too
There could only be one subtitle used for this story. Well played though 🤣
Re: Poll: Do Remakes of Old Games Get You Excited?

Well done Housemarque! My personal GOTY last year.

Re: PS5's DualSense Dubbed the Best Controller of All Time in Public Vote
I agree. When used to it's potential, it really does add another level of immersion.
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Tiny Tina's Wonderlands?
I've enjoyed them all so far but I have yet to play Borderlands 3, which I would want to before getting to this. Tales From the Borderlands is my favourite though.
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Ghostwire: Tokyo?
Yeah will get it eventually. I played the first Evil Within and thought it was decent enough. Not played the sequel but will at some point.

Re: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure the Big Winner from Sony's State of Play

Re: Shoddy GTA Trilogy Remasters to Get PS5, PS4 Patches Soon
Did I miss something, when did the native PS5 version drop? Or is it only available digitally on PS5?
Re: GRID Legends (PS5) - A Solid Racer with a Lacklustre Narrative
Can't say I pay much attention to the story in racing games and I always end playing Spotify. Aslong as the racing is fun, that is good enough for me.
Re: GRID Legends Looks Like the Yin to Gran Turismo 7's Yang in Launch Trailer
I will probably be classed as a heathen for saying so, but I would pick this up over Gran Turismo 7 any day. I don't play that many racers any way, and the ones I do tend to be the more arcadier ones.
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Version Out Now
Will check this out at some point, maybe after Elden Ring. Still have the disk.
Re: Poll: What Elden Ring Starting Class Will You Choose?
Samurai most likely. I do like using bow and arrows as a secondary weapon to thin out the herd from a distance.
Re: Sifu Updates to Include Difficulty Settings and Accessibility Options
@CJD87 You can turn auto updates off in the console settings, but not on a individual game by game basis. You can also play your console offline.
Re: Souls-Like Sequel Salt and Sacrifice Dated for 10th May on PS5, PS4
Really enjoyed the first game, but having just completed it, it will awhile until get round to it.
Re: Sifu (PS5) - Kung Fu Brawler Is Brutal But Brilliant
Defo one to get sooner rather than later for me.
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Dying Light 2: Stay Human for PS5, PS4?
@BritneyfR_ee That is a good point about the story. I thought it was serviceable but totally forgettable at the same time.
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Dying Light 2: Stay Human for PS5, PS4?
I really enjoyed the first game, but this was released too close to Elden Ring for my liking. Will defo pick it up at some point in the year though.
Re: Dying Light 2 (PS5) - Good Sequel Hurt by Expectation
@LiamCroft Ah cool, that does not sound as bad now. Cheers for the reply!

As someone else that broke through the 100 hour mark with the game, I agree with giving it the number 1 slot.
