Re: Talking Point: What Will Be Announced at PS5 Showcase Event?

GilbertXI

Miles Morales, demons souls and I'm guessing at least one new game cough*FFXVI*cough, and if we're lucky, more about forbidden west or gt7, either one I'm okay with. We're almost guaranteed to see at least the release date and hopefully UI and price. Although I'm getting kind of worried now.

Re: Soapbox: Let's Give Activision a Bit of Credit, Yeah?

GilbertXI

@BranJ0 I'm with you. Nintendo deserves all the criticism for this move, especially the limited release (although the people who expected a full remake of 64 in the odyssey engine were kidding themselves even before the reveal). What is invalid criticism is whining at Nintendo for not releasing x amount of games this year. Not like the top Nintendo developers and directors were trying to plan an entire theme park or anything.

Re: EA Disables UFC 4's In-Game Ads Following Player Outrage

@clobbasaurus you raise a good point, but EA made a staggering $5 billion in net worth last year. I don't know how many games exactly EA makes a year, so I'm just gonna say 10 games. The average AAA game Costs around $20-30 million to make. So 30 times 10 is 300 million, that is nothing compared to the amount they make. On top of this, statistics show that most game sales are made digitally now. Both the PS store and steam store(don't know about eShop or Xbox store) take 1/3 of the profit of each game sold on the platform. So EA can still make a profit off of $40 per game sold. This does not even count the amount of money they make from MTX. EA is straight up lying through their teeth that they need more money to produce more games.

Edit: This is in USD, I don't know what the conversion would be to other currencies but I hope you understand what I mean.

Re: Random: Don't Get Doritos Dust on Your DualSense with PlayStation Chip Picker

@Liverbirdsarego Then I've been lied to my whole life. Apologies.

Edit: I should have been insanely more clear, I meant modern cockney and Appalachian/New England in comparison to the received pronunciation of Shakespeare's plays. the R's were pronounced more like Appalachian, especially with words like march. In no way was I trying to associate a single accent with an entire country and I apologize for making it sound like that.

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales PS5 Is One of This Year's Most Anticipated Games

I don't understand why people are trashing this game just because it is shorter. No one said anything about lost legacy being $40 DLC, but now that something like that is a launch title everybody is in an uproar about it. Sometimes I get a migraine over the double standards everyone on the internet has. The people complaining about this game are the ones who want shorter worlds and stories. I do understand people not liking the game because they only showed a teaser trailer and a couple screenshots, that is reasonable.

Re: Marvel’s Avengers Adds Kate Bishop in First Post-Launch Operation

@Pat_trick
*Pushes up glasses and clears throat

Kate bishop, aka hawkeye, is the person who took on the mantle of said alias after Clint Barton retired/died, don't remember which plotline. She was part of a team known as the young avengers, with other heroes such as iron lad and miss America. This is not to be confused with the new avengers, another group of young heroes including Nova and Ms.Marvel, (Khamala Khan), the west coast avengers or the great lakes avengers. Neither should they be confused with the avengers from the fifty state initiative after the first avengers civil war(yes there is two), or the Canada or UK based avengers, both of which the names escape me.

Re: Ubisoft Confirms Second Forward Livestream for 10th September

Ah yes, here we go, my healthy dose of disappointment. God's and monsters and splinter cell would be nice, although I will be incredibly surprised if the latter is even mentioned, how many cameos can they do in a single month. At the very least I would like to get more news about far cry 6.

Re: Permadeath Is Completely Optional in Watch Dogs: Legion

GilbertXI

@thedevilsjester very true. I am notoriously slow and bad at most video games, especially first person shooters, but I have run into the same thing. In my favorite game(hollow knight), I spent hours on bosses and objectives people got first try, meanwhile it only took me 4-5 tries to beat one of the hardest bosses in the game to most people. I don't know about watch dogs though. The combat already looked kind of soulless from what I saw, and the hacking on top of that can make things a breeze. Especially if you have to repeat objectives to recruit different characters, I'll get used to it very quick. It definitely won't be teeth-clenching difficulty for me, I'll say that.

Meh, whatever, I was gonna pass on it anyways, but I might try AC Valhalla, if only cause of the setting and folklore stuff they're bragging about. Literally any other studio could have made a viking game where you raid the English countryside great, but it had to be Ubisoft. Oh well, at least we have skull and bones to look forward to, in 3020 along with elder scrolls 6 and GTA 6

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Has Optional 60FPS Mode on PS5

GilbertXI

@Dryster that's because the games are originally built on the Xbox one, so all they have to do is upscale it. It's actually pretty smart, although the games are still restricted in a sense. The Ps5 is built from the ground up just for the console, so of course it will run into errors. Third party games also upscale as well, which is why black ops cold war and dirt 5 can run at 120 fps but this cannot. It's the same for every console generation, when you compare killzone shadow fall to last of us part 2, it's no contest which one is better looking.
