Square was probably projecting about 10 quadrillion copies sold as per usual so they'll likely be disappointed, but 3 million for a PS5 exclusive in less than a week sounds pretty damn good.

If securing Starfield was the whole point, wouldn't it have been more reasonable to just buy exclusivity for that game (timed or otherwise) instead of the whole ass company? As much as Microsoft loves throwing money around willy-nilly, I think they're just making an excuse here.

@WallyWest I was talking in general, but in Diablo's case specifically, give it a while. Plenty of games withhold pay-to-win schemes during launch period to ensure good press and reception, then implement them later. A story older than time.

Not that I care about Diablo, but it's always hilarious to me when this excuse is used for any game.

If the issue truly were that the less efficient dungeons are being ignored by players, then work on making those more efficient and fun to farm on, instead of making the current favorites worse.

It's got nothing to do with keeping a balance between areas, it's just about increasing the grind a.k.a. engagement time of as many users as possible - and, needless to say, tempting them more towards microtransactions.

I wonder for how long. Many people got Premium when the service began or got it as a continuation of PS Now, so the question is whether they'll renew when that period's over.

And sure, of course it'd be a "pleasant surprise" to offer a garbage tier with garbage updates as the most expensive option on your service and have it be the most popular option. It's almost free money.

They probably paid for a longer embargo on that one since it's the biggest Atlus announcement out of the three.

It'd have been absolutely weird to make Yuffie's chapter PS5 exclusive only to then make the next full game cross-gen. It'd be like Horizon 3 being available on PS4 after Burning Shores already made the leap forward.

At least the series isn't completely forgotten. This 4-5-6 collection was also in that Capcom leak from years ago, so fingers crossed once more that Ace Attorney 7 is indeed real as well.

Kind of funny how this game only ever gets updates when they want to say it's been delayed. Some sparse gameplay footage this time at least, but it didn't tell me much at all.

Sucks for the guys who strictly prefer physical. On a personal note I've been buying RgG games digitally for a while anyway, so it doesn't affect me.

@Splat This is being released on November, Ishin (a remaster of an existing game) launched on February, and the previous Like a Dragon game launched on January 2020.

I actually really like Getting Over It, so this has my attention.

Gaiden, Rebirth and the Lies of P demo made it okay. For the most part, I had the showcase on mute.

I'm always up for some more Bloodborne/Souls-inspired indies - recently completed Thymesia and had a good time, still need to get around to Steelrising. Hopefully Lies of P will be good as well.

Cautiously optimistic about this new Joryu lad, seems to be a cool dude.

I haven't looked at any of its trailers in a while.

Ultimately I'll leave it to the upcoming demo to sell me on the game, I'd rather get excited about FFXVI via my own gameplay than via what amounts to curated spoilers.

Trek to Yomi's the kind of game that I was always deciding whether to buy or not every time it was on sale. Getting it via Plus settles the matter and saves me some money, so that's nice. I'll probably start it as soon as they give it away.

I think it'd be cool for RE1 to get a remake in the same vein as 2, 3 and 4. It's not "necessary" in the slightest, but it'd be interesting.

Much like the 2/3 remakes, obviously a lot of things would need to change when it comes to enemy encounters, to accommodate for the new freedom of movement and action. So it'd end up feeling like a whole new experience rather than a pointless retread.

My Extra subscription is good until January and I'm sure there'll be other chances for a 25% off deal along the way, if not slightly better. So I'm fine for now.

Pretty underwhelming sale this time around, both in amount of games and the discounts themselves. 400+ games sounds good on paper, but if you filter out expansions and such it's actually more like 200+.

I'll try the demo since I read a while ago it's the kind where progress carries over. So for all intents and purposes it's not so much a demo as an early start of my playthrough.
