Re: Everyone's Talking About Eve's Outfits in PS5 Exclusive Stellar Blade

Gaia093

The outfits look alright and it's nice that there's 30+ of them to choose from - most games today either don't bother all that much with cosmetic clothes, or nickle and dime you for them.

I'd be interested in seeing the hair customization options in detail as well (some of which showed up in the trailers) because I'm not super fond of Eve's default ponytail look.

Re: Warner Bros' Reaction to Suicide Squad Flop Will Make You Question Your Sanity

Unfortunately, the reality of the situation is that gambling with terrible odds on a bunch of projects like these is a drop in the ocean for big companies.

What really burns out with every failed live service isn't their money reserves, it's the motivation of every developer unfortunate enough to have spent years of their life assigned to working on soulless garbage.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for March 2024 Announced

Gaia093

Hooray for Sifu, the opposite for everything else in there. One good game per month is all I ask for from Essential, so I'm content.

And I usually redeem every game even if I have zero intention of ever playing them, but I might pass on even doing that for Hello Neighbor 2 out of sheer spite. That's just how much I hated the first game.

"(like the identity of Luke Skywalker's father)"

Wait, what? We get a father reveal for Luke? I'm only on the first movie, how could you do this to me??

But yeah, I think at this point FF7 spoilers are fair game. If there was a statute of limitations for spoilers, it would have expired a while ago. Besides, since the new trilogy has been introducing variations on the fates of characters and such, it's not like prior knowledge of the original sets anything in stone.

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About All of the Xbox Multiplatform Rumours?

Gaia093

I don't care much about their games being ported, other than Hi-Fi Rush which admittedly I would really like to play. Good for other people interested in their library, but it won't change what I play in the future a whole lot.

I'd love it if this move also put the brakes on their acquisition spree, though. It was only a matter of time until they bought out a studio I actually cared about. Maybe they will continue doing that, but this entire thing feels like downsizing their aggressive strategy.

Re: PS Plus Extra Loses Another 10 PS4 Games Next Month

Gaia093

Out of these I've completed Resident Evil 7, Tekken 7, I Am Setsuna and Thomas Was Alone.

I'll probably just try Tacoma and Lost Words since they're very short, maybe Hue as well. I'm kind of curious about Ace Combat but not quite in the mood for that gameplay right now, and I didn't like Setsuna enough to commit 50-ish hours to the devs' other two projects.

While I can certainly appreciate some positivity, I feel as though you guys are setting yourselves up for utter disappointment with this many rose-colored predictions.

Re: FMV Mess Plumbers Don't Wear Ties Fixes PS5 , PS4's Piping in March

Needless to say it's an abysmal game, but being able to see actual footage for the whole game instead of the awful ol' stills is a pretty big change nonetheless.

Years ago I dug up the PC version online and played it due to the funny AVGN video, but I wouldn't pay for this just to continue the joke. Still, the above change at least means it's not just a basic re-release, so I'm sure someone out there will be curious enough to pay.

Re: Final Fantasy 16 Dev Team Disbands, Making Sequels or Spin-Offs Unlikely

Gaia093

"(...)presumably Final Fantasy XVII, the first time in the series' long history that four Roman numerals are required in the title?"

XIII says otherwise. So does VIII.

Anyway, I'm fine with Rising Tide being the last thing we get on FFXVI as I think it's a pretty complete story and world as is. On the other hand, it's a bit sad that this quick disbandment is probably related to 'disappointing' sales performance rather than what the team envisioned would happen from the start. Yoshida feels a lot less enthusiastic about his game in this interview.

Re: Geoff Keighley Agrees Winners Weren't Given Enough Stage Time at The Game Awards

Thirty seconds is ridiculous, an overwhelmed dev can barely even collect their thoughts within that time, even if they prepared a speech beforehand. Let alone enjoy the moment.

Imposing rigid time limits for this kind of thing is a bad idea to begin with, but if you're gonna do it, make it at least a minute and half. You're supposed to be celebrating these people and their games, so at least act like it.
