I remember being pretty excited about the idea of an Atlus fantasy game when that was teased ages ago, and today the wait paid off. Looks really cool, keeping an eye on it for sure.
I wonder if the potential benefit of press related to the announcements being focused on just their platform for like 24 hours is worth the price they pay for that "exclusivity".
@Splat This is being released on November, Ishin (a remaster of an existing game) launched on February, and the previous Like a Dragon game launched on January 2020.
I'd be more concerned about your warped perception of time than the status of these devs.
I'm always up for some more Bloodborne/Souls-inspired indies - recently completed Thymesia and had a good time, still need to get around to Steelrising. Hopefully Lies of P will be good as well.
I haven't looked at any of its trailers in a while.
Ultimately I'll leave it to the upcoming demo to sell me on the game, I'd rather get excited about FFXVI via my own gameplay than via what amounts to curated spoilers.
Once again I wonder what the point of Sony specifically hyping up the Days of Play sale is, because here's yet another big sale that blows that one out of the water.
I feel like the "cooperate with party members in closer ways" bit might be referring to a system similar to what Yuffie and Sonon had on her DLC campaign.
This has been a rather bizarre marketing strategy indeed, and I guess these daily "updates" might or might not culminate in an actual trailer/presentation.
Preposterous. They have no idea what they're doing with this franchise. I didn't sign up to FF for no fancy schmancy "narrative developments", please bring back the times when the series was just a still picture of a blank wall.
Trek to Yomi's the kind of game that I was always deciding whether to buy or not every time it was on sale. Getting it via Plus settles the matter and saves me some money, so that's nice. I'll probably start it as soon as they give it away.
I don't care about the other two games, but 1 out of 3 is good enough for an Essential drop.
I always find it funny when these articles about Naka's arrest are accompanied by photos of him wearing the Balan top hat, because it makes him look like a cartoon con artist who just failed at his latest scheme.
I think it'd be cool for RE1 to get a remake in the same vein as 2, 3 and 4. It's not "necessary" in the slightest, but it'd be interesting.
Much like the 2/3 remakes, obviously a lot of things would need to change when it comes to enemy encounters, to accommodate for the new freedom of movement and action. So it'd end up feeling like a whole new experience rather than a pointless retread.
My Extra subscription is good until January and I'm sure there'll be other chances for a 25% off deal along the way, if not slightly better. So I'm fine for now.
Pretty underwhelming sale this time around, both in amount of games and the discounts themselves. 400+ games sounds good on paper, but if you filter out expansions and such it's actually more like 200+.
I'll try the demo since I read a while ago it's the kind where progress carries over. So for all intents and purposes it's not so much a demo as an early start of my playthrough.
Woah... That's a lot of wasted dev hours on the Factions project, considering how long it's been worked on. Guess it's not so much that ND was keeping its cards close to its chest, but more like their whole deck was garbage.
I was kind of hoping for some footage myself, but thought of it as a far shot. I'm hoping that once FFXVI is released Square will finally start focusing on marketing Rebirth.
When I played on my Switch I had it on the dock by the TV 99% of the time, with the 1% being the rare occasions where I'd rather play laying on bed over sitting at the sofa. And I don't really game when I'm outside so the whole "bring the games with you" point is moot in my case.
So yeah, I can't imagine myself paying for the opportunity to play PS5 on a handheld. The thing looks neat, though.
Fairgame$ is cringeworthy and all, but it's par for the course for western live service drivel. It's when Japanese devs produce this kind of dead-end stuff (and with that awfully generic Fortnite-like artstyle to boot) that I truly die a bit inside. Not to mention, of course, the matter of it being a rather blatant Splatoon copycat.
Come on guys, let's steal from Elon Musk, I mean Elliot Moore. Armed robbery and killing other people doing the same thing as us is all chivalrous stuff when the target's a rich dude.
You people in the comments do realize the person previously bitching and whining about Days Gone's fate in all those other articles is not this guy, right? That would be John Garvin, the other director for the game.
When it comes to Persona 6, I'm not concerned about exclusivity stuff as much as I am about post-launch upgrades rendering the original game obsolete, like it happened with Persona 5 and Royal.
By the time I got around to P5, Royal was already out and I got to spend my time on the better version of the game, but for people who supported the original release, the whole fiasco must have absolutely sucked.
I'd like some kind of guarantee that if I buy P6 at launch I'm not pouring money (and, most importantly, time) into something that is going to be abandoned in favor of a definitive version, without even an option for transferring progress.
I'm pretty interested. It's pretty long and being advertised as a more 'major' type of showcase, so chances are there will be at least one or two things for me to get excited about.
@nessisonett I guess I'll count myself lucky I'm not British (or from an English speaking country period), because Clive sounds just fine to me. So does Keith, actually. When I think of boring English names to use in videogames I think John, Jack, Peter, Thomas, Max and so on.
Could anyone explain what the obsession is with Clive being an odd choice for the protagonist's name? I see it brought up by PushSquare specifically plenty of times, but as far as I can tell it's just another name of British origin among many. Uncommon apparently, but that by itself ought to be not a negative, but a positive for a fictional character in terms of standing out.
Sylens feels like too pivotal a character to just have him fall off the face of the Earth/die offscreen as Nemesis approaches, or to just have him "appear" via text messages and the like.
I don't think there's an elegant solution here - even if they preserved his character model and got a new VA, it'd feel very off, regardless of whether the new VA tried to do his own thing or imitate Reddick's performance. And the AI voice suggestion is terrible in like twenty different ways.

It sold me on the game, enough said.

Re: Sorry Physical Fans! The New Like a Dragon May Be Digital Only on PS5, PS4
Sucks for the guys who strictly prefer physical. On a personal note I've been buying RgG games digitally for a while anyway, so it doesn't affect me.

Thanks for the heads-up, registered for PS5. With the way these things go I bet I'm too late already, but might as well try to get in.
Re: Baby Steps Is the Weirdest PS5 Game You'll See Today
I actually really like Getting Over It, so this has my attention.
Re: Poll: Was Summer Game Fest 2023 a Sizzler or a Wash Out?
Gaiden, Rebirth and the Lies of P demo made it okay. For the most part, I had the showcase on mute.

Pretty underwhelming sale this time around, both in amount of games and the discounts themselves. 400+ games sounds good on paper, but if you filter out expansions and such it's actually more like 200+.
They had significantly bigger sales not so long ago, which is a bit perplexing considering this one specifically is presented as a big thing by Sony. No need to look further than even the previous one:

Re: Poll: Which PS5 Blockbuster Will You Be Playing in June?
There's a decent chance I'll buy FFXVI. The new Street Fighter looks cool, but fighting games are not my thing. Zero interest in Diablo.

I'll play Trek to Yomi. As luck would have it I never ended up buying it, so this works nicely.

I'd give the beta a try, wanna try out that new Asuka moveset.
