Really hoping the Gundam game turns out good.

I only selected a few. While more than a few look good and promising, day 1 for most of these doesn’t seem necessary.

But I already set a timeline in my head and if I don’t get it at that time I’m going to raise hell…

I like the idea of this, but the fact that they are PS5 games but say PS2 on the box doesn't make sense. They should have kept the box shape and design, but either just left them PlayStation or put the 5 on it. People would still have understood what generation it came from just by the shape of the box. Implying a new game working on an old console doesn't make much sense aesthetically speaking.

Xbox really believes that Gears is the game to move consoles?

Are they just flipping a coin to see what comes to PS now? Honestly not the worst strategy Xbox would have ever tried.

Summer Games Fest felt like what Sony used to be 10 years ago. But Sony is still light years ahead of Xbox, lol. Every show has games worth playing though, so it’s all a win in the end.

Unless I get wind of something weird it seems like a day 1 game for me.

I don’t understand why companies pay people to make stuff like this? It does almost nothing. You could have just posted the P6 logo on twitter and got just as much buzz.

I thought the first game had promise. But seeing how the second game turned out and how quick now a third can be turned around I imagine it’s just another walking sim.

@RainbowGazelle the console games this generation combined have sold more copies and made more money than any other gen in gaming history, lol. Everyone is still buying games despite a handful of unemployed people on a weird anti AI crusade.

Still buying it day 1. New Tomb Raider game is reported to use AI. It’s almost like all the studios are using AI. This war is over, lol.

I was a huge fan of Gears back in the day, but after playing Reload it felt like this franchise just belongs in the 2000’s.

@BearsEatBeets it breeds competition among studios which benefits players in the end. Sony has a massive ego, along with any other company, and feeling the pressure to keep up will absolutely lead to better games. While it might seem like a petty culture war, it will still force studios to try and get better too.

Capcom and Square Enix specifically have easily eclipsed Sony.

NTE and Destiny 2 though I don’t really know I play either.

Very good. The excellent stuff was excellent. Lotta 50/50 stuff shown off. Moderate amount of slop. Went as well as thought.

Top 3 on this list were solid and more exciting than anything Sony showed off.

Easily the best looking game shown off.

Lol. Or he just got a huge Netflix budget and a well established IP that literally did all the work for him. The animation was the best part. Every character could have had zero dialogue and there been no story and the series still would have been just as good. I certainly don’t regret watching it. I thought it was good enough for what it is. But it’s nowhere in the vicinity of great anime that will ever be remembered.

THIS is where they announce Destiny 3. I can feel it, deep down in my plums.

The “clap back” isn’t even clever given the dev studio is a corporate company too, lol. Kind of makes you wonder how good the writing in the game will be…

To be honest I wasn’t impressed by either top game. Wolverine just looks like reskinned Spider-man and not God of War looks like a DLC pack for Ragnarok honestly.

$15 still seems like too much for a game that should be free and will ultimately be shut down anyways.

Doesn’t even seem like second or third place but it’s a great game.

There’s no shortage of stupid things stupid people won’t buy. So you’d be stupid not to sell it to them.

Given that we know like 78% of Marathons player base are also Destiny players, it will be interesting to see what this games numbers look like come June 9.

@Swandivetotheasphalt quality over quantity wins almost every time. Even if they are releasing less games than Sony, which shouldn’t surprise anyone cause Capcom has 3 studios to Sony’s 20, their quality of games are at least equal to and sometimes better than a lot of Sony’s over the last few years.

This game will be a tough sell without Kratos.

Nothing blew me away. I have to admit Sony for the first time just continues to look off their game.

It used to be so easy to make fun of Xbox’s showcase as a Sony fan but I feel like that’s really no longer the case. Very average.

Let's not pretend like the culture war hasn't gone a long way to knee cap Sony over the last 5 years as well. It doesn't matter what side of it you fall on, catering to either alienates half a consumer base. Even for a few of the games that came out that still did well, you do wonder if they would/could have done even better had they not tried to lean into it one way or the other.

Toy Story for SNES was my ish...
