Showrunner Adi Shankar has announced a third and final season for Netflix's hit animated adaptation of Devil May Cry.
Following two successful seasons released in 2025 and 2026, the show is set to have one more season to wrap up what's being called the Force Edge saga.
Shankar writes about what's to come, and it's safe to say he's pretty pleased with himself:
He says his DMC show is "Dante’s Divine Comedy with guns and a red coat", and says each season represents each part of the world-renowned poem. "Season 3 is Paradiso," Shankar says.
Netflix says the first season brought in 21.7 million views throughout 2025, while the recent season 2 attracted 6.4 million in its first two weeks.
"One last thing … '3' is not going to be a normal third 'season' of a TV show," Shankar says. "With 'Season 3,' I am doing something very different. I am crafting a blueprint for how this game is won. See You all in 'Paradise.'"
Alrighty.

Yet word of mouth for the series is absolutely terrible. Interesting. I also saw an interview with mr. Shankar where he basically said hes the savior of the series. Lets just say I'm not scrambling to watch it.
Is this guy a troll or is he this full of himself? Season 2 was better than the first, but it's still a nonsensical mashup of elements from all the games. At least the animation was well done.
Couple of issues;
One: Dante looks like Trumpage in that picture above.
Two: The creator has some weird look on his face like's he's just followed through. Maybe he's going to use the book he's holding in lieu of loo roll...
Thank goodness. What an absolute trash fire this series was.
Publishers need to be more careful of who they hand their IPs to.
Sad to see it go. I enjoyed it, but I enjoyed it from the standpoint of something I could turn my brain off to after a long day at work.
I like how the original fans of the source material are referred to as trolls 🙄
So far i've watched until eps 3 and it's interesting how they make Arius a bit more compelling / smarter villain compare to the game without changing much of his character.
I kinda dig the way they mixed DMC 1, 2, and 3 story plot but with it's own twist.
And so far the animations looks good, i think better than season 1.
A Netflix show that gets more than 2 series? Pretty much unheard of these days! The reason I’m watching a loaf of shows from the 90s and early 2000s at the moment.
