All the Best Toy Story Games Are Coming Back with Retro Revivals on PS5 1

If you've any nostalgia for Toy Story's interesting history of video games, I have some great news for you.

The retro experts at Digital Eclipse are reviving many of the best titles associated with the Disney/Pixar classics, with two projects set to release on PS5 and PS4 later this year.

First up, we have Toy Story: Retro Roundup!, a compilation of older games that includes the following:

  • Toy Story (SNES/Genesis)
  • Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue (PS1)
  • Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (PS1)
  • Toy Story Racer (PS1)
  • A Bug's Life (PS1)

Bit of a rogue addition, that last one, but I'll happily take it.

The second project is Toy Story 3: Complete Edition — a full remaster of the beloved PS3 game from 2010.

This game was notable for not only having a campaign of fun platformer levels to play through, but a Toy Box mode that allowed you to freely explore and fully customise a Western-themed town.

These two titles are both scheduled to launch digitally on 15th October, 2026, and there's also a physical edition that launches the same day. Only available for PS5 (unlike the digital versions which are PS4 as well), the physical copy includes both Retro Roundup and Toy Story 3 together as a double pack.

With the release of Toy Story 5 right around the corner, it makes sense that the franchise's back catalogue of games would be resurfaced for fans new and old.

A couple of these older games are already available standalone on PS5/PS4; Toy Story 2 and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command can be bought and played right now. There's also the PSP version of Toy Story 3, though that's quite a different game to the PS3 release in this upcoming remaster.
