Sony are without doubt diluting the value of the brand and that’s a shame after they’ve built it up so solidly over such a long time.

As the article says it would be nice if they actually communicated with their fans for a change. Generations ago they used to do this, now they just seem like faceless money collectors.

My thoughts exactly, Sony need to work out if they’re in or out. I think it’s only fair they tell their fans what their intentions and/or strategy is… These decisions make me think Sony are confused and not even they know the direction they’re taking at the moment.

Such a shame, I was secretly hoping we’d get a Forza motorsport one day on ps5, at least we got horizon though…

I thought perfect dark actually looked really good and was looking forward to a ps5 port.

I love new hardware and am usually an early adopter but for PS6 I think I’ll probably wait a few years until upgrading. (unless I give in to hype and fomo 😂)

The generational gaps are so minor these days and cross generations last years as we’ve seen with PS4/5.

The “collectors” edition doesn’t include the physical game? Damn, makes me wonder if this’ll even have a standard physical release!

It’s not a massive deal in itself but yes it should be disclosed in my opinion.

MS knew PlayStation wouldn’t release games on Xbox so this is a clever way for MS to make that happen anyway.

I wonder if it’ll change Sony’s stance at all releasing on PC. They did say recently they didn’t want to dilute the console value and this could really do that in my opinion.

I find it strange to spend $70b on studios only to then shutter a lot of them. I suppose they retain the IP but it’s not a good look for Microshaft.

I mean why did they release it in this state, it’s crazy…

@mrbone not specifically no. I’m sure they have grinds too but at least they seem to be awarded for it instead of being laid off! At least in a few cases anyway.

It’s a shame Sony haven’t supported PSVR2 in better capacity and makes you wonder why they even released it knowing they probably didn’t have the resources to support it.

Let’s face it they barely have the resources to support the PS5 itself with output that’s slowed to a game a year. A far cry from years gone by and yes I know games take longer to make blah blah but they’re not stupid and have known this was the trend for over a decade.

I’m not surprised Herman was demoted and feel he should go back to studio work.

It’s refreshing to see these smaller studios treating their staff well, especially compared to the big corporate studios who just seem to create grinds and layoffs.
