The car race in the original Mafia is one of the most memorable moments in the first game, and while this new Mafia: The Old Country trailer doesn't confirm if you'll be competing for first place again, it at least showcases the vehicles and horse riding that do feature. Ahead of the PS5 release this Friday, check the new footage above.
The trailer eventually gives way to combat clips, but in the first minute, at least, Hangar 13 teases scenes of racing trains and horse riding in the beautiful setting of Sicily, Italy. "Working for the Family may demand ruthlessness from Enzo, but there's no denying that life in the Torrisi villa has its moments of beauty. In this last gameplay video, Cesare shares some parts of the Mafia that don't involve bloodshed."
Mafia: The Old Country is designed to be linear and won't have an open world, but it still sounds like you will be able to venture off the main path to take part in these side activities. Its PS5 release is now right around the corner, out on 8th August 2025.
It's once again mentioned how the trailer has been captured on PS5 Pro hardware, though it's not been clarified if the game actually takes advantage of the upgraded console's specs. What we do know is it's supposed to average out at 60FPS in Performance Mode.

@LiamCroft when are the review embargoes lifted please Liam?
I have high hopes for this — I hope it’s a return to form for Hangar 13.
Hope it's good. We need more games like this for sure.
@Kraven Can there be a return to form for a dev that’s made 3 games so far, of which probably only 1 is actually good?
@Dodoo No idea I'm afraid, we don't have review code. It looks like code was only available for PC.
@LiamCroft ah ok thanks mate.
It's gonna be a game for sure.
I've got a bad feeling about this.
Had this pre-ordered for aaaages, so close now 🤌
That's disappointing that we aren't getting a PS review at or before release.
I'll still likely get this unless early impressions are a bit miss
I am awaiting reviews and user score on metacritic, but I might actually buy this. Haven't bought a game since the birth of my son as I don't have much time for gaming (or I actually like to do something else). This might be something nice for the upcoming cold nights after summer.
