I skipped all the dialogue and most scenes in forbidden west as the writing and characters do nothing for me. Aloy is quite unlikeable for my tastes.

The games are good overall though and look beautiful. If the melee combat is improved for the next game they’ll be even better.

@sanderson72 yeah basically Japanese consumers are getting a favourable deal here. I guess Sony assume they’ll make up any losses through psn subs, game sales etc while gaining market share.

Is about annoying they have a price cut while our prices are going up though.

The casting looks good to me but can’t help think animation would have been better for this. Though what do I know?!

It’s effectively just a price cut for Japan only. That’s the only reason it’s in Japanese language and requires a Japanese psn account so people don’t import them to other markets.

By limiting it like this Sony haven’t miraculously found a way to produce them cheaper which is what the article implies.

I’m playing through forgotten west at the moment even though I bought it on release. I had bad open world fatigue but so far am loving it, it looks and plays great on the pro.

I really think devs should make a game in between sequels to help franchise fatigue set in. A different game or IP would be nice before we see Horizon 3 in my opinion.

Definitely interested to see how this is monetised. The words free to play instantly turn me off but am interested in this so might make an exception if it’s not pay to win, full of micro transactions etc.

It goes to show they have quite a lot of wiggle room with price while still making a profit on hardware. Makes me wonder if the price increases in the west really needed to happen.

I miss the days of the ps4 gen when Sony were firing on all cylinders at e3, gamescom and psx. All in the same year, big announcements. These little random shows don’t do it for me but maybe I’m just old and grumpy lol

We’re only just getting out of the ps4 cross gen and what meaningful improvements will the ps6 really bring? We have ssd’s already, graphic gains are less impressive each gen and first party output needs more time to have a decent release schedule on ps5 due to longer development cycles.

I’d be happy with a longer than usual generation this time round.

Funny how most of us on here thought at the time what a terrible deal it was yet somehow Sony didn’t see it.

Absolute zero surprises here. I still think it was just a knee-jerk reaction to MS’s deals which has turned into a disaster. At least they got insomniac for a bargain.

After adoring RDR1 I really wished I could get into 2 but the slow pacing bored me to turn it off and never load it again.

Maybe I’d give it another shot if it came to ps5. Amazing sales figures anyway!

@IOI yeah use the remote play app on my iPad tethered to Ethernet and my dualsense.

Is good enough for when the tv’s being used by someone else.

Though physical is 100 times better for reselling.

Hmm was looking at buying one recently but decided to use the app on my iPad instead. This could be a good excuse to buy yet another gadget I don’t really need 😂

I agree it would be good if chadley was cut. The amount of times he calls you on that stupid device to say something meaningless was annoying. Would be good if they focused on QoL improvements too like faster climbing, less janky traversal etc.

Is a shame the bungie deal has probably tempered their enthusiasm for a deal like this. Is a shame as an WB acquisition would bolster their first party output which has been terrible this gen.

Wow that took me back 25 years. Enjoyed combat evolved but got bored from halo 2.

Seeing this has surprised me as I wasn’t interested before but might give this a shot cos nostalgia. Plus the graphics look sweet.

I would argue these weren’t chasing fads, there was nothing in the market like them at the times they released for them to chase. They were first to market and created the fads.

Ironic considering the devs and publishers have played a big part in keeping the cross gen going with last gen releases.

I’d much rather have a high capacity battery. Sony controllers always perform badly in that area. My switch pro controller probably lasts twice as long.
