Last week, Sony and Sucker Punch shared a brief video, highlighting one of the weapons you'll get to wield in Ghost of Yotei when it launches in October.
That first video was about the kusarigama, and now, we have a brief video about the yari — a spear type weapon that forms part of Atsu's arsenal.
It looks no less violent of course, but you'll be at a safer distance, able to charge enemies and impale them from range. Atsu uses the yari to take out a group of goons on a bridge in about 30 seconds — brutal efficiency.

We expect the rest of the main weapon types will get similar videos as well. In addition to the two weapons already featured, there are dual swords, odachi, and the standard katana still to be seen in this format.
On top of that, we know Atsu will have some ranged options too, so maybe those will get their own video as well.
Anyway, what are your thoughts on this new clip? Do you like these quickfire videos on Ghost of Yotei? Discuss in the comments section below.

I have the Collector's Edition on pre-order, and cannot wait to play this gem of a game. It's going to be awesome... 😊
These weapon trailers are an awesome spectacle to behold, but also make the game look way too easy. Hope they get the balance right for those higher difficulties!
These clips don't do anything for me: it doesn't look different enough from the original outing which I enjoyed for about 25 hours or so before the routine became too repetitive to finish. As the other commenter mentioned above there were also balance issues once you got levelled up.
@Silenos This. I already said it but it feels like a DLC/reskin. It pains me to say but I wait until it’s discounted and will buy battlefield 6 instead.
I'm still playing the first game. I actually had to take a break because it was getting too repetitive for me. I like repetition sometimes, and it's often unavoidable in such games like this, but i think there are other games that did repetition better. I also hate hate hate that the first game have this stupid fog of war map that you have to walk everywhere to clear it. It makes my OCD go wild and i feel forced to walk for 2-3h around like an idiot with my horse just to clear the map. I tried stop doing it but i just can't. That's why i already have +45h in this game and I'm still in the second region and barely made any progress in the main story
I just hope that they at least remove this fog feature in the next game so when i buy it, i won't get crazy
Speaking of buying, this game is costing 400 reais (Brazilian currency) now, which is more expensive than the 60-70 dollar price in USA. At first the game was costing 350 reais, but a month ago they raised the price on most of their 1st party games. I think we all know the reason, but i don't want to delve into this kind of subject AT ALL.
Anyway, since their games is so expensive now in Brazil, i don't have a choice but to skip them all and then (hopefully) get some decent deal by getting physical media around here. Hell, i might even get an used copy now. That's why physical media should never die
Can't wait for October, this is going to be something special.
I refuse to watch anything of this game.
(Because I want to go in BLIND whenever I get the chance to play it)
Doesn’t look that good to me
@windxtravelerx play the Story and sidequests. They lead you to forts which you have to conquer and boom your map lights up enpough. When you have cleared the Region it unfogs the rest of the map.✌️
Why am I not as buzzed for this as I should be?
Wish I could get excited for this, but alas it all just looks so “samey.” Will definitely pick it up at some point (on sale,) but unfortunately won’t be a day one.
Loved GoT, so I'll probably get to this once it is discounts on my Wishlist
I played GoT and I loved it. Then I played Rise of the Ronin and loved it for it's fighting system, which blows GoT's out of the water but stopped playing the game at 2/3 because the story couldn't keep my attention and the world itself was a bit boring. Then I played AS: Shadows and fell in love with that game. The world is absurdly beautiful and alive. Way more than GoT and the gameplay is more than decent but not close to Rise of the Ronin. The stealth is really good though and you feel like a true shinobi.
Now I want to be hyped for GoY but after seeing some clips I'm a bit on the fence. I like the weapon variation but Rise of the Ronin and AC: Shadows have that as well. I like a revenge story but AC: Shadows had that too. The world looks cool but very similar to GoT which was beautiful but not as impressive as AC: Shadows.
So what will this game bring to the table? The protagonist is a win for me sure, but what about the rest? I'm not preordering yet.
@ORO_ERICIUS wow, i didn't know that! You're a lifesaver! Thank you so much! When i get back to the game and reach the third region I'll liberate the forts, then. That's gonna save me A LOT of time and sanity. My mental health says thanks to you lol
@Baoki Don't buy it then if you think this game doesn't offer anything new.
@PuppetMaster Thank you for the insightful reply which added nothing to the conversation.
But yeah, I'll just await the reviews and don't preorder for now.
I loved the first one even though it got repetitive because fudal Japan and samurai stuff is right up my alley.
Like I have said before. This looks the same as the first game and could probably run on a ps4. I expected more.
First game was ”fine” and worth a playthrough. Gonna wait for this one to drop on ps plus before I play it.
I can't wait for this game looks amazing I'll be ready day one for this
A Yari Spear is actually just called a spear. An easy mistake to make, much like naan bread or chai tea.
