Just when you thought Phantom Blade Zero couldn't get much cooler, developer S-GAME pumps out a behind-the-scenes video in which we get to see a drunken sword fighting style.
And to be fair, that's just one part of what is a very interesting watch. The video's packing quite a lot of gameplay clips, showcasing combat, bosses, environments, and even a few story scenes.
It also features the title's director, who goes by the name Soulframe — not to be confused with the upcoming MMO from the Warframe devs — as he talks us through the game's interpretation of 'Wuxia', and what it means in terms of both gameplay and narrative.
As it turns out, protagonist Soul only has 66 days to live after enduring a fatal wound to his heart. As such, he goes in search of a potential remedy — while also vowing to live what could be his last days as vividly as possible.
This leads to Soul helping out people in need — and that's where the game's side quests come in. You'll apparently make choices during said quests that can influence the main story, which is an intriguing detail.
Oh, and did we mention that the video's full of mental motion capture footage as well? No wonder the animations look so damn good.
Phantom Blade Zero is still on track for its PS5 release on the 9th September, but are you feeling the hype yet? Never stop parrying in the comments section below.
