Already April?! It's frightening how quick this year is moving. But there's already been some absolute bangers on the PS5, and the coming month is looking even crazier.

Pre-ordering a physical copy of Marvel MaXimum Collection from Limited Run Games, and re-reading Sammy's recent review are all part of my Easter weekend's gaming plans, as well as replaying Konami's 1992 X-Men Arcade Game on PS3.

I think I can say I'm playing the musical RPG People of Note, I just can't tell you whether I'm enjoying it or not. (Yet!)
Stephen Tailby
I'm in half a mind to fire up Returnal and shake off some of the rust in anticipation for the arrival of Saros. Really itching to play that, now. Housemarque doesn't miss.
That's what we're playing this weekend, then, but what about you? As always, we want to hear which games are keeping you busy in the comments section below.

This weekend will be exciting!
I have Resident Evil 8 (I have reached the Castle!) on the Meta Quest 3 and Silent Hill 2 for the horror part!
And for relaxing I have Shovel Knight Dig and Ocarina of Time 3D!
This weekend is only Crimson Desert, Minishoot Adventures and RE Requiem.
I do hope to finish at least one of those and latter two and add something new or different to the rotation!
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend that it is! And enjoy whatever you’re playing everyone
Juggling a few games but primarily working my way through Resident evil 5 for the first time. Pleasantly surprised by how many similarities it shares to RE4 combat; I'm not sure why I've never played it! Guaranteed, the AI partner is absolutely awful and the story so far is very minimal. You can tell capcom wanted to nail the co-op feature and I'm sure it's quite fun playing with a friend. Punching zombies as Chris has yet to get old. After that, I'll move on to RE6 and see if I can push through it knowing all the criticism it has.
Some more Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown and World War Z: Aftermath hopefully. The latter is more my bag but after getting over the initial shock of how shoddy TDU: SC looked, I’m actually enjoying that quite a bit too. Had an absolute nightmare trying to get in the same server with @CaptD yesterday though, to finish off the last FRIM (free ride instant money) action (slipstream). For a constantly online game, built around social racing it has possibly the worst multiplayer implementation yet seen. We eventually managed it through sheer bloody-mindedness though 😅.
Just arrived in Staunton in GTA3, Rummaging through Caustic Caverns in Borderlands 2 and plowing through Holland Valley in Far Cry 5 🙂
Same as last weekend;
None.
Chilling at a friend's, in the country ^_^
Greetings, good people.
This weekend I'll be playing ping-pong! Oh wait, we're talking about video games. Actually right now I'm on my way to pick up Switch 2 version of Bravely Default, I specifically ordered Asian version with English localisation without censorship, so that's what I'll be playing today.
And earlier this week I tried Disaster Report 4 before it left PS plus. Guys... I swear, 3/10 review on this site doesn't do it justice. The game is so f-ked up on every level, you have to try it yourself to believe it. I could write an essay on how utterly ridiculous every aspect is, but you better experience it yourself. Trust me bro™.
That's it for today, love each other and have a great weekend.
I've been feeling nostalgic recently so I dug out my my 24 year old, very clunky PS2. I bought some games from Cex and I've been having a great time.
Already played through Urban Chaos: Riot Response. This weekend I'm jumping between Conflict: Desert Storm, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Gran Turismo 3.
I'm shocked by how small the controller is compared to the modern dualsense. Been having some pain in my left hand after lengthy sessions so I may need to look for some sort of larger replacement.
I'm playing crimson desert and I'm enjoying it a lot. I'll also be getting stuck into GT7 later using the psvr2 as it's just flipping mental. Vr racing has destroyed flat screen racing for me. Maybe some marathon if the guys are online. Have a great Easter weekend folks 👍
Finished Avowed during the week and I'm now playing Judgment really liking it so far I've never got on with the Yakuza games but something about Judgment has clicked for me. I'll also be playing some Battlefield 6 later on with my brother.
Platinuming Elden Ring + DLC was quite an investment, so just doing some GT7 races currently. Perhaps I’ll start up Forspoken this week. Pretty sure it won’t be my game though but it’s been sitting in my backlog for too long now.
Continuing Alan Wake 2 and Trails in the Sky the Third this weekend. Taking my time and thoroughly enjoying both.
I want to start Sekiro, never played it before.
After becoming a Souls player, it’s hard to get back to other games.
I spied Death Stranding 2 and Astrobot for £29.99 and £33.99 at Smyths so I bought them both straight away using some birthday money.
I've been trying out a few games. I played Haste for a bit last night and it's fantastic. I'm about 5 hours in Ender Magnolia superb sequel. Also started Fist of the North Star. Love how OTT it is with the violence.
Have a nice weekend everyone!
Got a few games on the go. Trophy clean up for Final Fantasy XII. Then also need to do the highest difficulty run on Resident Evil: Village towards acquiring the platinum. Happy Gaming All
Marathon for a few hours got to get my goop hit for the weekend
@Northern_munkey playing GT7 pancaked actually hurst my eyes now! Especially if I've just played in VR
Still pushing through Dark Souls 3', I've got the Lothric fight which I've probably spent 6 hours on I'm going to finally have a crack at the nameless king. Then it's the boss of the Ariandel DLC and the whole of The Rings City.
Almost got my Power Washer Simulator 2 platinum, despite no giro controls.
I'll have to polish of Doom Dark Ages after that, then I might actually pick up a new game! Oh, GTA5 too, and my first Sekiro replay since I bounced off it, so maybe a new game in 6 months
Have a great weekend Folks!
Doing postgame for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment before moving on to Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2: had a ton of fun slicing and dicing tons of bokoblins, moblins, and horriblins with incredible performance throughout and a fun deep dive into the events of the Imprisoning War.
I played Galaxy on 3D All Stars but this will be my first time with Galaxy 2 and it will be nice to revisit the first with improved visuals/performance. Looking forward to them!
On the Pro Crimson Desert gold bar hunting
Back on the most complex dialogue and outcome trees in gaming - Baldur's Gate 3. Continuing our wonderful journey with the masterpiece Karlach. Gone past 315hrs with Henry in KCD2 and it might just be one of the longest games I've played if you include side quests. Plus some MHWilds, CP2077, TW3 - yeah that new year's resolution of playing a few games at a time has failed miserably but I'll keep on trying.😆
South of midnight for me. Absolutely loving it. Just my sort of game.
Also Minishoot' adventures. Loads of fun
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. I finished Final Fantasy XVI in the week and boy, what a game. I'm flabbergasted it wasnt even nominated for game of the year. I've given up doing all the P switches in Mario Kart World as some of them are just impossible. Next up is Donkey Kong Bananza. Happy gaming time everyone.
@TrollOfWar I never played 40 Winks. Liked the look of it but then the reviews said it was a baby game so I didn't get it.
That era of playstation 3D platform games has a deep nostalgic root in my head, tried so many even obscure ones like Jersey Devil that was hard to track down in the late 90s.
Been playing the Gex trilogy recently and even though it's probably not a set of actual classics they are a lot of fun (well the 3D ones at least)
I’m continuing with Dave the diver and some Tomb Raider 2013 on the side. I’m aiming to finish and get my platinum for Dave before it leaves PS Plus.
I’m transferring old ps5 data to my pro and then I might start resi again.
I bought Vampire Survivors and all of its DLC on sale 3 days ago. Big mistake, I’m already 25 hours in.
Besides that I’m halfway through Resident Evil Village and I’m a third way through doing all 140+ levels in Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition
I've taken the plunge and moved up a world tier in Skull and Bones. This meant that before I knew it I had to choose which faction to fight for, the choice (spoiler alert) is the Dutch or the French. As a Brit, that choice was easy, and therefore I am fighting for a future of coffee shops, bicycles and tulips. I was already enjoying the game massively, but now there's a whole new level of intensity, just floating out of port with the sole aim of blowing up French ships and stealing their war assets. I started playing Skull and Bones in December, and I can easily see myself continuing until GTA6 comes out, and I am slowly convincing other gamers, who enjoy a more arcady experience, that it's really worth trying. The game play may be simple, but it's so intense, and the whole world lets your mind run riot. After some full on battles, you just want to sail through calm waters to an island where you know you can dig up a treasure chest. I might not even bother with the GT7 weekly races this weekend.
I snagged Star Wars: Jedi Survivor for a dirt cheap price and why not replay it using performance mode lol? Hope everyone is doing well.
To my own surprise, Mass Effect 3.
Planet of Lana - Remembered that I had this game to play after reading last weeks comments, so thank you for that! I’ve finished and platinumed the game, and I really enjoyed it. Beautiful, nice story and a pretty nice soundtrack made this a very good game. Its also pretty short which imo suits the game as it would overstay is welcome otherwise. I already have the sequel ready to go but I’ll wait for a week or two before playing 🙂
Life is Strange Reunion - so, after reading and watching some reviews I decided to go for it. I picked bae before bay in the original LiS so that Chloe was back was storywise ok but for my first playthrough I’ve picked the other option (you get to decide the backstory) and I have to say that building on the last game, Double Exposure, they pull the twist that Chloe is around again off better than I expected. So, is the game any good? Yes, I havent finished it yet but I’m enjoying it a lot even if its not nearly as good as the original game. There have been some awesome moments in the game so far though, they’ve always managed to make these in their games. Doe it feel like a money grab? Not really, theres enough of a good story here that even if they’ve used a lot of the same places and people as last game it doesnt really bother me. Should they have left Max and Chloe with the first game? Yeah, it feels good to continue their story but it should have been left with whatever ending we chose in the first game. That was what made is special.
I think I’ll reach the end of the game this weekend, and I’ll probably play through it again immediately with the other backstory.
Have a nice weekend 🙂
I will continued playing one of the best video games ever made in the excellent the elder scrolls 5 📜 skyrim.i will also continued playing fan favorite the incredible darksiders warmaster edition I will be watching my michigan wolverines 💛💙 play.i will watch my boston celtics 💚🖤 play.i will be watching legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy shows in family matters.good times.the Jeffersons.sanford and son.different strokes.martin.the wayans brothers. Married with children. And saved by the bell.word up son
World at Arms (Windows Phone) - I'm really tiring of resource management games. On the flip side, this one is going quickly so far.
My wife and I are passing and playing Ball x Pit together, each earning half the gears required on each stage. We just made it to the final stage yesterday, so we'll be trying to finish it up this weekend, along with Borderlands 4, which we only have a couple of main missions left. I'll also play a bit more Doom: The Dark Ages when I can find some solo time to game.
@rusty82
It's a decent 3D collect-a-thon, where you have to collect cogs and the winks to progress, but the combat is not that great. You are right, it's rather simple and there are better options like Spyro the Dragon or Banjo Kazooie.
I'm playing it on the Evercade VS-R console, because my 3-year-old kid wants to watch.
That's basically the reason why I got into Evercade. I wanted to play the original Tomb Raider games on the go and got a Gameboy-sized Super Pocket handheld (part of the Evercade platform) with the Tomb Raider Collection 1.
There aren't many PS1 games on Evercade and only 1 N64 with Banjo Kazooie & Banjo Tooie releasing later this year. I hope more will come.
@Northern_munkey I will be online tonight if you are up for it!!
@Boxmonkey I didn't bother swapping data over from my og ps5 as when I signed into my account on the pro I guess all my saves were cloud based because I just picked up where I left off. I'm loving my ps5 Pro and I hope you do too.
@Steelhead 8-bitdo makes a PS1/PS2 adapter that allows you to use a PS4 or PS5 controller with the older consoles. I haven't used that product specifically, but the other things of theirs that I have used have been excellent.
Marathon! Even when I am with the kids and wife I am craving for some multiplayer
I’m playing The Great Ace Attorney 2. I’m at what I presume will be the final cross examination of Case 3. If it nails down Case 4 & 5, it’ll probably overtake AA3 as my favorite AA game. I’m hoping to finish this game before Hades 2 takes over my gaming life
@DrVenture69 I tried GT7 the other evening without the psvr2 on and I just could not overtake or hit the apex of the corner anymore. The immersion is obviously far superior using vr and now I'm struggling on the rally games 🤣. It's pretty cool playing dirt rally 2.0 via the headset even though its not vr.
South of Midnight and I'm quite enjoying it.
@Sanquine defo buddy..just message me when you are on.
Ive put Hollow Knight on pause and started Fury Unleashed. Played for an hour and half and I like it a lot.
Slay the Spire. Finished the spire with the first character. I think I need two more runs and have then all the cards for this character.
Hell let loose. Imho the best shooter on console.
Also dont scratch the tattoo. Its healing and itches A LOT.
Tomorrow I will be watching de ronde van Vlaanderen. Beautiful race and its going to be crazy as Pogacar, Van der Poel, Evenepoel and Van Aert are about to start.
Have a great weekend!
Finished Borderlands 4 last night, really good dumb fun. Only a couple of weeks before Pragmata so don't want to start anything too big so maybe Ready or Not as I have had this one for a while but not got round to it!
Happy Easter & Happy gaming folks
@psmr
Stopped playing it because of this. I got a lot of lost connection to the server when doing solo races.
I've just bought a secondhand 32 GB memory stick for my OLED Vita. It's pretty cheap around 13 bucks and it can hold like 95% of my PS1, PSP, and Vita digital games. So, this weekend i'm playing:
And i noticed when i redownload my Vita games, looks like Chrono Cross and MGS 1 PS1 Classic has been delisted from Vita store 😔. Fortunately, both games are still in my download list.
Outside games, i'm currently watching Batman: Caped Crusader and Daredevil: Born Again S2.
Have a good weekend everyone 🍻
Just built the ranch in crimson desert so ill be looking to steal some livestock, and i might go on the hunt for that nazgul armour , 'i wants it'😁
Going to have my second try at Cryo Archive in Marathon. Im not holding out much hope for success but still fun all the same!
Also bought and started playing Screamer yesterday so going to get really stuck in to that. So far it's super great and a real hidden gem of a title!
Return to Moria - having fun with it.
@IntrepidWombat thanks, I'll look in to that.
I’ll try to pepper in some life sessions between a busy Crimson Desert schedule. Wait a sec… Happy gaming!
More Cryo Archive in Marathon after a few action-packed runs last night, and more Crimson Desert; the latest patch has brought the most important change for me personally... the ability to hide helm! Still battling the control scheme, though they've made a few tweaks there as well I believe.
I don't have a lot of time as a friend is visiting from the UK but I'm squeezing in some Asgards Wrath 2 on Quest 3 and maybe some more Banishers Ghosts of New Eden on Series X - such an underrated gem of a game.
Happy gaming y'all.
Approaching 40 hrs I'm Crimson Desert and still in CH 4 Hernand. With weekly patches improving the game this possibly could be GOTY after all.
Enjoy the long gaming weekend Everyone 😎
@Blauwe_Chimay that is better now tbh, I’ve only lost connection a couple of times. Still far from perfect though
I’m going to play that game where you open the PS catalog, spend 30 minutes sifting through games, not decide on anything, and then go watch TV.
i’ll be playing crimson desert, at the start of chapter 7, found myself a tubby cat so the kind of makes up for the jank fest of chapter 5 and 6. out side of that maybe a point and click adventure.
I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but there’s this little masterpiece of a game called, Resident Evil 4 Remake. I’m almost done with chapter nine, this game is absolutely as good as everyone says. It doesn’t have the claustrophobia and horror of RE2 Remake in my opinion, but they did a fantastic job with the gameplay and the survival horror aspects, Leon is a fantastic character, the bosses are top tier, and Ashely is actually fairly competent for an AI character you are guiding.
The same as last week—and will be for the foreseeable future—Marathon (PS5).
With that said, I’ve actually been in an Xbox mood as of late. I typically play on the PS5 or Switch, but Marathon has me wanting to play online with buddies, and they are Microsoft focused. And yeah … I may have double dipped. You don’t have to judge me, alright; I am judging myself.
On a tangent, if you ignore the incessant negativity about console wars on Twitter (X; I’m looking at you, SnapPlay) about either brand, and people bashing others for liking certain games on whichever console they prefer, the overall product is quite amazing. Seriously, all I’ve been seeing lately from people is, “IGN scored Marathon a 9, but Crimson Desert a 6. They are paid shills. Their credibility is so bad.” It’s at least something to that effect. And it’s not just with those two games — it’s practically everything. It’s mentally exhausting trying to find a community where people celebrate games as they are, regardless of the console it belongs to.
Anyway, back on topic. If you mute out the discourse about Xbox (though it has been positive lately with its changes in leadership), you will see how it’s a great consumer product. Game Pass, while expensive, is still a great deal for customers. Backward compatibility is also a strong features. While Xbox may not have any (console) exclusive games to draw you into buying the consoles, it has an extensive library worth checking out.
So, yeah. Maybe I did go on a shopping spree and buy a handful of games on the Spring sale. I thoroughly enjoy third party games on Xbox more than anywhere else. In the sale, I picked up Silent Hill f, Hell Is Us, and Arc Raiders. I also redownloaded The Division 2 to play cooperatively with my best friend.
In conclusion, what I’m trying to say is I’m 113 hours deep in Marathon, and I’ve decided to play it on another console. That is the TL;DR version of this disjointed rant 👍
I've started Tales Of Berseria remastered, I only put a few hours into the PS4 version back when. Good stuff so far. I was hoping to start Life Is Strange Double Exposure, then move on to Reunion. Of course Reunion arrived, Double Exposure is still in transit. World first problems😅
Have a good one all.
I'll be going back and forth between Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Stars.
Nice to switch between fast-paced and slow-paced when I want to
After finishing Requiem (amazing game), I’ve jumped into Control Ultimate Edition on my Pro. It’s a much improved experience compared to when I played it on PS4 years ago (although I still loved it). I should probably get into Returnal though, in preparation for Saros; gotta start flexing those Housemarque muscles again!
Same games I’ve been playing. WWE 2K26, Fatal Fury COTW, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
@DrVenture69 Hope Sekiro clicks!
I was close to 100%'ing Doom The Dark Ages (everything collected, doing all the challenges, and weapon masteries), then realised I encountered a bug at some point that erased a wraithstone from my inventory, so I have one weapon I cannot max out. So watch out for that 🙈
I'm also playing Returnal. It's crazy to think I had to step away from this ga e back in 2021 because I couldn't beat Nemesis. Now I've cleared all three acts and am just a few Xenoglyphs away from the platinum. I never thought that would happen.
Today is my birthday, 40 years in this planet. Beyond the festivities, some gaming when time allows. Marvel's Spider-Man 2, this incredible sequel, Assassin's Creed Shadows and Trails in The Sky First Chapter are my picks for these days.
A great weekend my friends!!
@MrPeanutbutterz, thanks it'll be interesting! I need to go into it with a more open mind than last time. I basically wanted a Samurai Dark Souls and it ain't that. I was hoping to start it this weekend but the Twin Princes are still kicking my ass in DS3
I picked up The Medium in the current sale in the PS Store so I’m playing through that while I wait for Saros to drop. It’s not my typical type of game as it’s a much slower pace than I usually like and there’s no combat in it, but I enjoy Bloober Team’s work so I figured I’d give it a shot. Beyond that, I’ll be dipping into the usual COD BO7 MP to do the daily and weekly challenges. Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend!
Consuming all the calories and checking out the scenery in Crimson Desert
Finishing Avowed and getting ready for another take on Starfield next Tuesday. I used to have this game on Xbox and I still own the collector’s edition and Xbox accessories released at the same time.
Still grinding that damn paragon 300 on Diablo for the very last trophy I need. And for my second game I’m playing Space Marine 2 off plus which is actually really good 👍🏻
@freddquadros happy birthday buddy. You’re a member of the club now. Life begins here.. apparently 😉
Absolum for me. It is really good-I am not good at it, but it is a high quality game that feels really good to play. It also looks great. The story doesn’t really land, but this game has a lot of other things going for it.
I also finished the first Atlus game I have ever tried after years of eyeing them from the sidelines-Metaphor ReFantazio. I loved it, and now can’t wait to play the Persona games! It also had a message I need to hear as much as possible in 2026. Only problem is, the game refused to end more than any game I have ever played-it blew by natural stopping points without a care! If they cut a few hours off, it would be just about perfect.
Have a safe and happy gaming weekend everyone!
@DrVenture69 Ah, the twin princes were my biggest stumbling block in DS3 - I steamrolled the last boss first time after enduring far too many retries with those two jerks 😂
@GamingGod heheh, life, back pain, more expenses, but we will thrive. I have a good woman by my side, who upholds my gaming hobby. God bless you my friend!!
Crimson desert and then some more.
This game has put it claws in me since the very first second and man.... it keeps on giving!
@freddquadros Happy birthday!
Have a good Easter weekend all
Was playing Code Vein and my PS5 got a error save wiped.....
@Nilexson Thanks bro!!!
@JVCIOM70 You're not missing a lot with the GT7 races this week, but at least there wasn't a Jimny race!
@Flaming_Kaiser I clicked 'Like' but it was a like of sadness I lost a 200 hour Blue Prince save file so I feel your pain
I can’t stop playing Crimson Desert. Have played around 27 hours, wish it was longer. I’m on chapter 4, and now have my camp. Looking forward to playing this later today, as it just had another update. Those devs are smashing it!
Xenoblade Chronicles X (DE) I have just completed chapter 5, and I think you get your skell in Chapter 6, so am excited about that.
Only had my PS5 Pro for a week now. After some teething issues regarding download speeds (same as my base PS5 had) all is good now. Mainly playing Crimson Desert on it. The other day I downloaded Spider-Man 2, which looks incredible. Other games I want to check out on my Pro are AC Shadows, Hogwarts legacy, and Stellar Blade.
Finishing off the Test Drive platinum thanks to help from @psmr (finally managed the 360, Taycan ftw).
Also playing a bit of Puzzling Places and Epic Mickey.
Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong
@CaptD congrats mate, I knew the Taycan would be good for something 😁
Gotta be real: I’d really like to play something, but I haven’t played any games in two weeks. With it being Easter weekend, I don’t expect I’ll play anything. I really want to play (and finish!) Requiem and LiS Reunion, but I don’t see it happening.
@freddquadros oh yes all that as well. enjoy mate. I’ll raise a glass to you on ya boffdee
@Northern_munkey I'll be online on Marathon tonight!
@GuttyYZ awesome ill keep ab eye out later buddy 👍
I finished Alan Wake 2 only to be propelled into a game mode called 'redacted'. A good game that goes all in on postmodernism.
I started up Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown which has a brilliant main theme and does what it says on the tin. It is an airial arcade combat simulator and I want to try the newest one available for PSVR2.
Ass Creed: Syndicate and Union have also entered the rotation. They are like a certain kind of comfort food that feels good to warm up and consume.
All of these titles are from PS Plus. I must have played over 50 games this past year without ever running out of great offerings from the different libraries. I also have plowed through the deals in the latest sale and found some nice PSVR2 titles on offer. I am going to add them to my digitally owned titles, but if I get another year of Premium I know I won't be playing from my own library, but from the constantly refreshed cornucopia of titles.
I'm currently dating Emma Stone in Hong Kong.
Dark Souls 3 for me, I'm starting the Ashes of Ariandel DLC (which I've never actually done) and fighting for my life against Sister Friede. She's cool as hell but she's also absolute ***** when she teleports and it's filling me with pure unfiltered rage.
Playing chilling on the beach in spain with some beers 😁😁. Back to reality nxt week so get some gaming in then
Dragon’s Dogma 2! Considering that I rank Dragon’s Dogma 1 as a top 10 game for me, I surprise myself by waiting so long to play Dragon’s Dogma 2. Especially since I’ve had it for over a year. Anyway, loving every minute!
It´s Easter weekend and being on some trips with wife and kids, so unfortunately not so much gaming this prolonged weekend. If I do have time then I´m going to start RE Village in 3rd person on steamdeck and I do want to start Dead Space remake ng+ on ps5. But I also feel some need to play some souls-like after a long time - even considering to subscribe to ps+ essential due to Lords of the Fallen addition next week, but I´d rather buy the game then rent it.
Have a nice Easter and happy gaming, everyone!
A few more hours on Persona 5. 24 down only 80+ to go.
Also very much enjoying Division 2, despite it being another Ubisoft game that is trendy to bash
Lots of fun and keen to find some other cover based looters and shooters.
Putting aside Naughty Dog titles any recommendations?
@CWill97 To play it again for the first time... I'm jealous. The payoff is so good.
Let me know what you think when you finish.
@TrollOfWar @TrollOfWar may have to look into one. Cheers
Returnal for me too. Knocking the cobwebs off to get ready for Saros.
Just finished Ghost of Yotei. It was a good game, but the original is the better of the two. I found the story of revenge a bit one note compared to Jin's tale. The only other negative I found was that the big fights towards the end get messy with too many enemies on screen. It kind of ruined the combat a bit for me as you can get chain spammed or hit from of screen and it just feels cheap.
If still give it an 8/10 but would recommend the original over this one.
Still Resident Evil Requiem.
Meandering in Blue Prince. I solved six of the eight "major" puzzles but two of the doors are still locked. So I just solved the other "big" puzzle which involves the eight solutions, and decided that it's probably enough. Has surprisingly dense world building for a game that only involves an estate and surrounding environs. I can see why people get lost in it for hundreds of hours. Every layer gives way to another layer, it seems.
Beyond that, RDR. I never completed it before. It's a lot of fun and startlingly nostalgic (remember that the seventh gen is now coming up to its 20th anniversary).
Darwin’s Paradox & Tears of the Kingdom for me, good times!
@EfYI i am the same. Still don't understand the Plus bashing. I have about 20 other Plus Premium games at least to get through. And even a "bad" essential / premium month adds at least 1 to the list
Started Crimson Desert and so far it’s fine. I’m only 5 hours and barely out of the first town, but when I played Skyrim for the first time it was immediately apparent that it was special. CD hasn’t given me that feeling yet but definitely will continue on.
Just finished Eiyuden Chronicles 100 Heroes, which I highly recommend. Old school sprite RPG goodness. Dove right in to Crimson Desert, where it appears I am going to be spending a LOT of time.
Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition on Switch 2, Mario Wonder with the family and some Donkey Kong Bananza.
Xenoblade, I am in 100 hours, only in chapter 8, in the tomb, taking my sweet time with it, finished it back in the day on the Wii and got addited to it again. I wish this would be on a more powerful console, the scale of the world is phenomenal.
On PS5 I just finished Alan Wake Remastered, jumped to AW American Nightmare - also done and now onto Quantum Break, planing on playing Control and AW2 afterwards.
Happy gaming everyone.
@HerlockSholmes will do, my good man! Just started 2–4 😎🧐😎
More Crimson Desert..
One thing I always wondered, why are so little Pushsquare writers contributing to this item? You have a lot more than three editors right and they’re all addicted to gaming I assume?
I managed to platinum Achilles Survivor yesterday so, after spending way too much time beating games following the Vampire Survivors formula, I decided to finally give an AAA game a chance.
So, I started playing Final Fantasy 16 and man... what absolute masterpiece!!! It really didn't get the credit it deserved. They music elevates it even more than Clair Oscure, imo. The phoenix fight seriously gave me chills and reminded me why I love games with a big budget. I found the voice acting excellent so far and the gameplay enjoyable, but the characters' faces and some environments feel ps3 level graphics to me.
This has probably already been discussed, but I avoided spoilers, so I had no idea.
Started playing Lost Records: Bloom & Rage today. Not far enough into it too give a rating, the camera mechanic is well done soon far tho. It was in the list and I needed to get it played before it goes off plus.
Crimson Desert all the way, even on a base PS5 (and a few patches later) it's easily a GOTY contender. Really thought RE9 was going to get that accolade but now not so sure.
@HeavymetalGordon Lords of the Fallen is totally worth it. The NPCs are a bit weak, but the game looks gorgeous, and imo it’s the best souls-adjacent game. The umbral mechanic is an interesting twist. The second one might be out this year too
@DrVenture69 Im happy I backed it up i saw. Got the Platinum but the grind with it made sure i never would play it again now. 😅
@DrVenture69 Did you have a backup? Damn that is rough...
Nope, no PSN😄. I actually thought ‘Ooh! I can play it all again knowing what I need to do!’. I’m pretty much back where I was, but it took a while. It’s such an interesting game, I’m okay with it. Just put an hour or so in in the evening
