There aren't many options for fans of table-based sports on PlayStation 4, so it's good to see developer Lab42 taking a shot with a new, officially licensed title, Snooker 19. Developed in partnership with World Snooker Association, it's a simulation of the sport that's aiming for authenticity, with broadcast-style presentation and accurate physics.
In a new post on the PlayStation Blog, game director Justin Forrest goes through the game's features, and it sounds pretty comprehensive. There will be two career modes: "‘Pro Seasons’ where you start a career as any established Pro Player including players within the top 16, and ‘Rising Stars’ where you start off at the bottom of the rankings as a young up and coming snooker star of the future." Online, you can play quick matches or engage in tournaments that run "in line with the real world WSA tournaments". You'll be able to play regular snooker, 6 red, and a shootout mode that sounds like a more arcadey affair.
It seems to be rather robust, and it's looking decent in the debut trailer too. Will you be chalking up your cue to play Snooker 19 on PS4? Score a 147 in the comments below.

No John Virgo?
@get2sammyb
"... hello JV..."
Can't wait for the PlayLink 'Big Break' DLC... wait... that's actually a great idea!!
That's cool that it has the top 128 players in the world in it. Features sound solid. All depends on how the gameplay is now I guess and that's the most important thing.
Imagine this will be out in April in time for the World's?
@roe It's releasing "spring 2019" so I imagine so.
@KALofKRYPTON that is an amazing idea! Also, thanks for making me Youtube the Big Break theme tune
@Quintumply any idea of the price?
This needs PSVR support. At least at a basic level. Lining up shots and getting the right angles is perfect for VR.
Games like this will be made in dreams anyway.
I have pure pool. Good enough.
Didn't know this existed till I was browsing on YouTube. One thing I hated about snooker games was the presentation which I did understand as money wouldn't have been put in these games. Now I have seen this in action again visuals and presentation is poor almost like a ps2 game
