@NEStalgia I totally understand your reluctance to drop that much money on what’s considered an “old game” especially after feeling burned in the past
You have no idea how badly I wanted to splurge on the Digital Deluxe Edition but after tax it would have come to $102!! However I don’t regret buying the standard edition because I’m able to experience Demons Souls for the first time in its best playable state possible, with a rejuvenated online community!! I’m just happy that for once my luxury purchase seems justified and couldn’t be happier with the experience so far
I also foresee TLOU2 being #1 and would be stoked for GoT stealing the top spot!!
@NEStalgia fair points, but it doesn’t sound like you’ve actually bought and played this version? Personally, after only experiencing a couple hours of the 2009 original and spending over 100 hours on this remake I can confidently say Demons Souls for PS5 feels like a modern Souls game, so much so I’m hard pressed to try the other “newer” games in the series because they could feel archaic compared to Bluepoints remake
@Daleaf Demons Souls won’t be going on sale for a loooong time - over 100 hours in I can confidently say it’s the only true next gen game on PS5 right now.
@Th3solution I was going to rebuy TLoU2 but then realized there could be an “updated version” for sale by the time got around to playing it again. FFVII it is then.
I love/ hate this game but more so disappointed in their lack of support (so far) with post launch updates or optimizations. There’s no reason a Game of the Year winner should be running 1440p/30fps on my PS5
@Voltan sounds like lazy journalism to me, ever heard of booting the game up and finding out the updates through gameplay?? Right off the bat I’ve noticed performance boosts, removal of popular glitches, and vastly improved network latency - but again Valhalla is the highest selling AssCreed so they cater to clicks
@suikoden of course not we get news of Assassins creed patches before hearing anything about Demons Souls new patch because you know which game gets more clicks? An Ubisoft one
This game really doesn’t deserve the spotlight right now it already flubbed the release and tanked CDPR’s reputation, the damage is done. Plus even when it all works the gameplay is still mediocre. Any further news in between the big patches necessary is just drama pieces at this point. Like Esquire but for gaming
I thought Metacritic implemented a minimum 3 day grace period on reviews?? How are users reviewing it before critics
It’s amazing how CDPR was fully able and willing to sacrifice the goodwill & trust they’ve built over the years for a RECORD BREAKING payday, seems downright Shakespearean in its tragedy. And oddly fitting given the Cyberpunk world of corruption and greed.
@__jamiie if only it was that simple - Nintendo carved its own niche market with rabid fanboys who buy multiple pieces of hardware, Sony has carved its own path as a premium experience with games made for adults, and Microsoft has the gamepass/ streaming market cornered. They all exist in their own lane, so try comparing sales again and see how foolish you look
Gaming - an industry that releases products which almost always get BETTER with age, ironically sells 8 million PRE-ORDERS
Movies, music, there’s no other entertainment industry where the products we invest in improve with future updates! Yet we don’t “pre-spend” in any of those industries like we do in gaming! It’s highly amusing
Honest question to my fellow gamers out there, was it worth it? We’ve all waited patiently for Cyberpunk but is this the way the games meant to be played?? As much as I love our industry it’s clear how easily swayed by hype and media we are as a consumer base. The sales numbers were always going to be HIGH for such a hotly anticipated game, but at what point do we relinquish control of our common sense and wallets to support a clearly rushed product. Cyberpunk would have been even better with more time in the oven, as all games would be. However this particular game NEEDED to leave a proper first impression. Just my opinion
It is abhorrently irresponsible of reviewers to recommend buying this game in its current state, the Metacritic is sitting at 91 - that’s almost 10 points higher than Ghost of Tsushima, a potential game of the year!! Yet when Ghost releases it was FINISHED and virtually BUG FREE
@Makina Phil Spencer... the most trustworthy and reliable mouthpiece for Xbox? Yea, didn’t catch that. I was referring to Aaron Greenberg’s most recent statement to “temper expectations”
Imagine all of the franchises R* could be working on under their illustrious portfolios, now scrap all that imagination for THIS! No way we’re getting anything other than more GTA/ Read Dead online content in foreseeable future
How would this make us like Fortnite exactly? Pretty sure some people like me don’t play it for the exact reasons why this skin exists... shameless soulless cash grab tugging at our pop culture nostalgia or love for actual good games that aren’t this! To end on a positive note Fortnite keeps the kiddos and strange adults who play it off the games I enjoy playing online...

This was my 1st Souls game and it quickly became my favorite PS5 experience so far!!

Re: UK Sales Charts: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Grabs Christmas Number One, Cyberpunk 2077 Slips to Third
Half of UK’s top sales are Switch games, the other half annual cycle garbage. What’s wrong with you blokes!?!
Re: Random: This Guy Has Five PS5s
@Ralancian no thanks
Re: Returnal Looks Super Cool in New Gameplay Clips
Everyone complaining about price yet Valhalla is top selling game this month and it has $80-100 editions that I KNOW some of you picked up
Re: Poll: Did You Request a Cyberpunk 2077 Refund on PS5, PS4?
Nope, I was smart enough not to buy it for consoles.
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Consistent Crashing Issue Still Not Fixed on PS5, PS4 After Patch 1.05
@Max2574 Valhalla is from the team that did Origins. Odyssey’s developers did Immortals Fenix Rising so she might enjoy that one more
Re: Soapbox: I'm Really Enjoying Cyberpunk 2077
I’m gonna stop checking PushSquare regularly and maybe in a month or two I’ll find interesting articles not focused on Cyberpunk or Valhalla

I sold my Last of Us 2 edition Pro for $375 right before PS5 launched
Re: Ubisoft Shoves XP Boosting Microtransaction into Assassin's Creed Valhalla a Month After Launch
Ubisoft wants you to blow through their games as quickly as possible so you can consume the next one - soulless, heartless, and predictable

I’ve played all of Ubisoft’s Xmas releases on Uplay+ and this was the most uninspired of the lot, thank goodness I only paid $15 for the month!

@Xiovanni and yet no matter how many Yakuza titles they throw in Gamepass Japan isn’t interested in Xbox, the numbers show.

@Bazooka you just named a bunch of regions known for their investment in cell phone games LOL of course they aren’t buying premium priced consoles!!!
Re: November 2020 NPD: PS5 Sets New US Hardware Launch Record, But Can't Beat Nintendo Switch
@Snick27 absolutely, just like total PS4 sales included slims and Pro models
Re: November 2020 NPD: PS5 Sets New US Hardware Launch Record, But Can't Beat Nintendo Switch
It’s also double the price of a Switch. Gotta love sales comparisons when they never take price of admission into account
