Re: Game of the Year: #4 - Demon's Souls

@NEStalgia I totally understand your reluctance to drop that much money on what’s considered an “old game” especially after feeling burned in the past

You have no idea how badly I wanted to splurge on the Digital Deluxe Edition but after tax it would have come to $102!! However I don’t regret buying the standard edition because I’m able to experience Demons Souls for the first time in its best playable state possible, with a rejuvenated online community!! I’m just happy that for once my luxury purchase seems justified and couldn’t be happier with the experience so far

I also foresee TLOU2 being #1 and would be stoked for GoT stealing the top spot!!

@NEStalgia fair points, but it doesn’t sound like you’ve actually bought and played this version? Personally, after only experiencing a couple hours of the 2009 original and spending over 100 hours on this remake I can confidently say Demons Souls for PS5 feels like a modern Souls game, so much so I’m hard pressed to try the other “newer” games in the series because they could feel archaic compared to Bluepoints remake

@Voltan sounds like lazy journalism to me, ever heard of booting the game up and finding out the updates through gameplay?? Right off the bat I’ve noticed performance boosts, removal of popular glitches, and vastly improved network latency - but again Valhalla is the highest selling AssCreed so they cater to clicks

This game really doesn’t deserve the spotlight right now it already flubbed the release and tanked CDPR’s reputation, the damage is done. Plus even when it all works the gameplay is still mediocre. Any further news in between the big patches necessary is just drama pieces at this point. Like Esquire but for gaming

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 Is Being Slaughtered By Metacritic Users

I thought Metacritic implemented a minimum 3 day grace period on reviews?? How are users reviewing it before critics

It’s amazing how CDPR was fully able and willing to sacrifice the goodwill & trust they’ve built over the years for a RECORD BREAKING payday, seems downright Shakespearean in its tragedy. And oddly fitting given the Cyberpunk world of corruption and greed.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Celebrates a Staggering 8 Million Pre-Orders

Gaming - an industry that releases products which almost always get BETTER with age, ironically sells 8 million PRE-ORDERS

Movies, music, there’s no other entertainment industry where the products we invest in improve with future updates! Yet we don’t “pre-spend” in any of those industries like we do in gaming! It’s highly amusing

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Has a Consistent Crashing Issue on PS5 During Long Play Sessions

Honest question to my fellow gamers out there, was it worth it? We’ve all waited patiently for Cyberpunk but is this the way the games meant to be played?? As much as I love our industry it’s clear how easily swayed by hype and media we are as a consumer base. The sales numbers were always going to be HIGH for such a hotly anticipated game, but at what point do we relinquish control of our common sense and wallets to support a clearly rushed product. Cyberpunk would have been even better with more time in the oven, as all games would be. However this particular game NEEDED to leave a proper first impression. Just my opinion

Re: Even If You Don't Like Fortnite, This Kratos Trailer Is Pretty Cool

How would this make us like Fortnite exactly? Pretty sure some people like me don’t play it for the exact reasons why this skin exists... shameless soulless cash grab tugging at our pop culture nostalgia or love for actual good games that aren’t this! To end on a positive note Fortnite keeps the kiddos and strange adults who play it off the games I enjoy playing online...
