If you thought that the re-reveal for The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel was signalling some kind of blowout in the relatively near future, then I've got bad news for you.
Reiterating that the finished game is still a long way off, the ever-informative Jason Schreier made things clear on social media, posting: "Sorry to say [The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel] is still more than 2 years away!"
As alluded, this lines up with all of the reports we've had on the project over the last year or so. That doesn't make the realisation any less disappointing, though.

You may recall that the game's development "passed a big milestone" back in February, when Bethesda boss Todd Howard enthusiastically claimed that the project was "coming together".
However, Howard also stressed that Sentinel was "going to be a while yet".
Flash forward to July and Schreier was busy answering questions about the RPG's progress. Despite being in a playable state, the journalist stated that it remained "two to three years away at least".
He's obviously backed this information up with his latest take on the matter.
Then, just a day later, news broke of significant layoffs at Xbox, and subsequently, Bethesda. Over 50 people who were working on Sentinel were reportedly cut loose, sparking concerns over the project's already troubled timeline.
It was said that studio morale was at "rock bottom".
Whether things have changed all these months later we don't know, but this has clearly been a pivotal year for Bethesda and the project.
There's a strong suggestion that Sentinel needs to be a hit, for the studio's sake — and so Todd and the team will be desperate to get it right.
As a quick reminder, The Elder Scrolls 6 was first announced in 2018 (!) with a very short teaser trailer. But as Schreier notes, it was mostly shown to placate the single player masses after the unveiling of the multiplayer-focused Fallout 76.
It'll be the 15th anniversary of Skyrim next week, which is insane to think about, and really puts this whole timeline into perspective.
