As promised, Ubisoft has lifted the lid on Assassin's Creed Mirage: Valley of Memory — a free expansion that's arriving more than two years after the main game's release.
It's been known for a while, but this is a joint project between Ubisoft and the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. The latter has essentially funded the whole thing.
Many have highlighted the expansion as yet another way for the sovereign state to promote itself in a positive light, having been hounded by an appalling human rights record for decades now.
Valley of Memory itself is said to include around six hours of content, building on Mirage protagonist Basim's background. It launches on the 18th November.
And alongside the expansion, Mirage is getting a beefy update that improves some pretty substantial parts of the sandbox experience.
Here's a quick breakdown from the developer:
- Smoother Parkour and Mobility Improvements – Enjoy renewed movement with free jumps, height-gaining ejects, and an enhanced control scheme.
- Mission Replay with Animus Sequences – Revisit contracts and key story missions with optional challenges to unlock exclusive rewards, including new color filters inspired by past Assassin’s Creed games.
- Customizable Experience – Try the Hardened or Ultimate Assassin presets for an additional challenge, or customize your own difficulty using a full range of presets.
- Expanded Feature and Fixes – Experiment with a new level 3 upgrade for each tool, an additional skill, and many quality-of-life improvements.
