New names and ideas are pretty risky business in the world of video games, so it's pleasing to see a couple of recent new IPs in the UK's physical games top 10.
Cronos: The New Dawn, an original horror title from Bloober Team, has debuted at number four in the chart, while two positions lower is Rogue Factor's unusual action adventure, Hell Is Us.
They're competing with much more established names and series; the current top three are Mario Kart World, EA Sports FC 25, and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

The remainder of the top 10 is largely led by Switch/Switch 2 releases, although the PS5 release of Gears of War: Reloaded closes things out.
While this is purely based on physical sales, it's good to see some brand new titles are getting some attention on store shelves.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.

- Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

I bought Cronos: The New Dawn and Hell Is Us.
I've only played Hell is Us so far, and it is not an easy game with no quest markers or a map, and the puzzles are real head scratchers, but the world and mystery is superb...
@Fiendish-Beaver I'm loving Hell Is Us as well, it's been a while since I played a game that isn't a soulslike but still has the complex quest design without map or objective markers. I enjoy being a bit more relaxed in my exploration.
Playing Hell is Us now. Awesome game. Superb graphics. Cronos is next.
Who the hell is buying Outlaws
@Sergo switch 2 owners as despite Internet saying otherwise in the run up to launch, it runs surprisingly well (ubi never corrected the leaked videos).
So if you are a switch only gamer, its a "new" game, and there a lot of switch 2s already out in the wild.
Hell is us is an experience I'm glad I'm experiencing. Cronos has been good so far but with frustrating situations
Finished Hell is Us over the weekend and had a great time with it. The puzzles were really satisfying, and I loved how the game was structured overall, didn't feel the need of a map and markers / quests on the screen - actually made the experience feel way more immersive
On top of that this is one more example of a UE5 game that runs quite well without those standard issues that plagues it. Same goes for Metal Eden that ended up finishing as well this weekend.
Playing now Cronos and really enjoying it as well
It seems Silent Hill F will run also very good without problems
@springer17
I had been holding back on Hell is Us because it looked a little stressful, and I tend to save those experiences for FromSoftware games.
It's not frustrating to play then?
@Shepherd_Tallon I know what you mean, I wasn't sure how close it would be to the kind of FromSoft frustration before I played it, but I haven't found it stressful at all. The combat is decent, if a little repetitive, but spread out enough that I haven't found it annoying yet, and the rest of the game is just layers of mystery and intrigue. It's really got it's hooks in me and I can't think of playing anything else at the moment.
@springer17 Sounds very nice. Okay then, it might be one for the weekend.
Cheers!
I’m absolutely loving Hell Is Us
Probably gonna play the demo of Hell is Us this week at some point and see what I think of the game from that.
I’ve loved the look of it from the trailers and the gameplay that was shown for it though
@Fiendish-Beaver
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is the only other game that’s come out recently with no quest markers etc and is currently my GOTY at the moment.
Haven’t played Hell is US yet though
@Shepherd_Tallon It's only Soulslike in the fact you can wander around without it being totally linear in other words a lot of secrets to uncover. The combat isn't Soulslike at all let alone there are 3 difficulty levels so it's no way as difficult either.
I have so many new games right now but Hell is Us is really fantastic. I love the way the story is unfolding and it really is the first game in a long time where I feel like I'm really exploring. So many other games claim this but literally direct you everywhere you need to go. There are so many secrets and the story is actually really thought provoking and relevant to so many things happening in the world today. I am completely loving it.
I need to pick these two headline games eventually! Just so busy atm. About to start clair obscur finally
After I have finished Ready or not, i am buying Hell is us.
I'm playing Cronos right now and it's safe to way Bloober have cooked, considering this is only their second game with actual combat, their future is looking a lot brighter.
@Fiendish-Beaver I tried the demo for hell is us over the weekend and I immediately knew I would love it. Gonna pick it up over the next week or so I think
I’m yet to play Cronos, but I’m already a bloober team fan I’ve got all their games minus the medium, but I do want to play that regardless of reviews. Been playing hell is us all weekend. It’s absolutely fantastic, I wish it does well, it deserves to. I hope they make more games in this style.
@Slideaway1983 Yes, there is a point in that but dont those guys read reviews
@Sergo how do you mean? For example, NintendoLife (sister site) awarded it 8/10 and said (paraphrasing here) its not as laborious as an AC game, so if i wasnt bored of star wars i would have given it a go on any console - so depends what reviews you read, i guess 🤣... Also, not that I listen to it all too much, as graphics aren't important to me, but DF says its a great port as well with both graphics and performance.
@Slideaway1983 No , not the graphics. It is so boroken. i mean the state in which it is, not to mention in which it was released. I am not fan but gave it a go .... damn, it was so choppy, so crazy NPCs, so many borken things that it immediately went ot the second hand market.
@Sergo iant that every ubi game day one? 🤣
Hell is Us is an amazing game! Definitely recommend everyone try it out at some point. I'm still on the fence with Cronos with Borderlands 4 looming this week. Will probably wait for Cronos to go on sale down the road.
@Slideaway1983 Eeeeeexactly 🤣🤣
Cronos looks deadly I’m going in for that first
On Act 2 of Hell Is Us now and it just goes from strength to strength. This is one of those titles where it kinda comes out of nowhere (bit like Clair Obscur in that respect) and gives the big name titles a serious run for their money. Also it isn't a short game like some are claiming as there are so many secrets. Unless you concentrate just on the main story missions but you'd be missing a decent chunk of the game if so.
