Re: Rumour: PS Plus February 2020 PS4 Game Outed By PlayStation Spain

dellyrascal

Never had a PS1 and think I had Mario 64 back then, while Sonic was my go to on Sega consoles also..

Can see some complaints but sure many will be happy too.. Will give this a go as never played it, but I'm assuming the gameplay has a nineties clunkiness still?

Be interesting to see what the second title on plus will be...

Re: PS Plus January 2020 PS4 Games Announced

dellyrascal

@jly1987 I meant it from a point of how old it is and how many are likely to have it already.. Those that missed out on ps3 like I did would have probably picked them up by now.

Can't obviously speak for all players, but considering how big a trio of games this was in terms of sales etc, I'm surprised by the decision in that regard, although after Christmas sales, it does make sense to give new owners a boost to their respective collections and as you said it won't cost Sony anything.. Which is likely to be where this has come from and I don't blame them, nor am i too bothered..

Not the first time I've had something that's been announced and they are bonuses after all, so win some, lose some.

Anyhoo happy new year... 😊

Hmm strange choice with Uncharted Collection. I'd assume that the vast majority of PS3/4 owners have played these as good as they are...

While GOAT sim is at least interesting, if a little uninspiring due to its age..

I personally see the games as a bonus to the online subs, but they are pretty poor choices based on age and likelihood of players already having them..

Not the best start to the new year for PSPlus

Re: Soapbox: PS5 Must Introduce Price Parity Across Regional PSN Stores

dellyrascal

To be honest, as nice as parity would be, i dont expect this anytime soon, especially with complications as referenced in terms of taxes, fees etc...

I remember paying £59.99 for a Jap import version of Streetfighter Zero 2 on Saturn in 1996, yet a current PS4 game from my own region thats digital and has no middle man costs the same..

On one hand it is rediculous, especially when comparing to Steam pricing and so on, but then on the other, considering game pricing has not escalated too much since my 23 year old example above , I think we also have to feel somewhat fortunate in that respect too.

Most players that have knowledge of how this pricing works, will usually find a work around, i have an American and Japanese account with pricing in mind, as this tends to be better (especially in the US Store). If this wasnt the case, I'd probably have stayed physical.

Re: Shenmue III's Review Embargo Lifts Days After the Release Date

dellyrascal

Pretty sure by sticking to the original style / formula (assuming that is the case), it's going to receive poorer scores compared to modern titles of this day and age..

Had the fortunate pleasure of the originals back in the day and as much as I loved them, Shenmue has become a monument of its time in present day company...

That's no bad thing but wouldn't be surprised to see low scores.. So I get they are trying to protect it a little but does more harm than good in my opinion

Re: Hands On: Windjammers 2 Needs to Come to PS4

dellyrascal

Had a go at this at EGX and was good fun, hopefully it does come to PS4.

I did ask someone who was overseeing the use of the game build, but they were a little non commital in giving an answer, with a "possibly".... so fingers crossed i suppose...

On a side note... EGX was a bit meh to be honest...

Re: WWE 2K20 Fans Put Together Hashtag to Prove Just How Utterly Broken the Game Is

dellyrascal

I have no interest in the genre or game, but I just dont get how software is able to get through play testing these days. Worked on certification testing way back in the mid 2000's and it amazes me how low the standards have dropped....

There simply cannot be ANY QA testing done these days, as the idea that a group of people could miss all of this is truly astounding... Both MS / Sony need to take some responsibility too, as the idea of vetting games to make sure they are working is heading down the Steam route of no .exe files.

Can't even use the well tredded theory that gamers are the testers these days as this shouldn't have got past the beta....

Re: Sony Worldwide Studios Chairman Shawn Layden Leaving PlayStation

dellyrascal

Every now and then, this crazy rumour that Sony are looking to sell their movie and gaming arms on, touting it to the likes of a Google or Amazon or some such pops up... A friend of mine, who keeps up on business stuff is adament this is going to happen at some point too

I've never really thought there was any credence in this idea, ultimately thinking its BS, but with Apple's recent move, Google coming in, and the Sony restructuring, i'm starting to wonder if there is even a minor element of truth..

Bottom line, I just want the same quality PlayStation products as we've enjoyed and I wish good luck to Shawn, quite liked the public face of the guy and he has done a great job...

We do have interesting times ahead...

Re: Why Is DayZ Charging Money For a Second Map When the Game Is Still Broken on PS4?

dellyrascal

Was around my cousins, he picked this up and when I had a go, I've rarely played such a poorly implemented game, even the horror of Seven Days To Die was a little better in the grand scheme of things to this..

As for releasing a new map, makes no sense other than trying to mug people off, before fixing the numerous issues it has...

However, its been like this for a while now, companies just shrug their shoulders and carry on like nothings happened...

Standards need to improve for the next gen in terms of broken games being allowed to be sold, but I highly doubt it...

Re: Talking Point: Is a PlayStation Game Pass Viable?

dellyrascal

Ultimately, PS Now is there already and I think that Sony will look to expand on that more than create a game pass, not that it is completely out of the question, but a reduction in cost for starters would do more to encourage than anything else... of course this also depends on how far backwards compatability goes too.

MS also have the extra bonus of the PC to use their Gamepass on, plus the remoured driveless new Xbox. So again, unless Sony adjust other aspects of their approach (which is possible), it remains unlikely in my humble opinion., especially with the money making they are currently doing at this moment.

As much as companies look to make "all of the money", Sony potentially neutering themselves on day one releases may backfire... but as i dont have a crystal ball, it could work...

Re: Wolfenstein: Youngblood - What Happened Bethesda?

dellyrascal

Looks fun but with a new Doom coming, I can't help but let this pass by, despite the co-op element.

The desperation to pull Wolf' away from Doom in terms of playstyle has arguably cost it over the last few games.. W2 was struggling and now this, while Doom and now the upcoming Eternal, they seem to be getting it right...
