Re: Sony Shares First Look at PS Plus Extra, Premium Games

dellyrascal

Well I have seen about 6/7 games on here from the newer list that I'm interested in and considering I got automatically upgraded, I'm not too disappointed. Will get money's worth out of the PS5 games I have not picked up yet.. so not too bad.. whether I were to continue the top tier, however depends on what else is coming.

Re: The House of the Dead Remake Coming to PS4, Out Next Week

dellyrascal

Used to love playing these games and still have my Virtua Cop games and gun controllers.

Appreciate they cant probably make them now (legalities etc) but without a peripheral or some sort of VR implementation, this may be a bit hollow overall, which is a shame..

No interest with that in mind, but do hope those that give it a go, get plenty out of it..

Re: Rumour: PS Plus PS5, PS4 Games for April 2022 Leaked Early

dellyrascal

Already have Slay The Spire and as someone who wasn't into "A card game" it hooked me in very well, spent many an hour on that..

Spongebob, i'll add and Hood didnt really interest me at all before, so nothing to change my mind here.

Not the greatest of months, but i shall move on and play my stupid backlog..

Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Won't Tee Off Until Spring 2023 on PS5

dellyrascal

Will need to improve a hell of a lot from the Rory McIlroy game, what with the Golf Club guys sterling work, which made that look exceptionally arcade like

The course creator should now be a staple across all golf games.

Also can i just have a re-release of PGA TOUR Golf 2 on the Megadrive.. 😁

Re: Sifu Updates to Include Difficulty Settings and Accessibility Options

dellyrascal

See the skill level gatekeepers are sharpening the pitchforks once again..

I dont really care if they bring in skill levels, i'm enjoying it as it is and thats fine by me.

So if they add those and it brings more sales and a possibile sequel, without ruining the underlying mechanic that is already there, then crack on devs.. Crack on!

Love the modern gamers e-peen when it comes to stuff like this.. Should have played some of the stuff in the eighties, that was proper hard back then..

Re: Here's Your First Look at MLB The Show 22 on PS5

dellyrascal

@Kidfunkadelic83 - If you want a less sim like experience, I thoroughly recommend Super Mega Baseball 3

Enjoyable, quicker games and editing available to ya hearts content. Has online mode and a championship / franchise offline mode too..

Only thing ya dont get is a single player career path / storyline..

MLB has been very good, but this may satisfy the itch and is somewhat cheaper too, if "taking a punt" on a sports game

Re: Sifu (PS5) - Kung Fu Brawler Is Brutal But Brilliant

dellyrascal

Not so hot at fighters these days, the old reactions are not quite as quick as they used to be at 46, when playing the likes if SF, Tekken and KoF back in the arcades, but the idea of spending a bit of time mastering the flow of combat here will be good fun..

So i'm looking forward to it...

Re: Poll: Would You Still Buy PlayStation Consoles Without Activision Blizzard Games?

dellyrascal

Dont think i've played their games on the PS4 beyond giving a PSPlus title a go and then deleting soon afterwards.

Not that concerned for their games in that regard, but this shift is quite monumental for the industry, as a whole and easily will be the biggest shake-up in 40 years of gaming that I have seen.

Realistically, its gonna take a couple of years before we see how this affects Sony overall and a further few, before we see major changes to gaming and how its consumed, if indeed it does.

Right now, i'm happy with my PS5 and I have a PC for access to GP, if i want it.. but to be fair, i'm too busy with life, the majority of the time to feel the need for 1000 games to play at any one time..

Overall, interesting times ahead

Re: Hardware Review: Sabrent's PS5 SSD Heatsink Offers Console Convenience

dellyrascal

@BoldAndBrash - I happily would transfer the cash, if they asked for the payment, as I did set it aside, but once I had confirmation that i had it refunded, the last thing i expected was it to turn up.

The weird thing was the money was held in limbo for four days before it came back in to my account.. so even then, i assumed they would rectify the error... but clearly they didn't for what ever reason

Re: Saints Row Gameplay Shows Combat and Chaotic Cop Chases

dellyrascal

Underwhelming to be honest.. Looks like something i played 15-20 years ago

Nothing screams improvements or new ideas.. If there are some, then it may be better waiting to show them, as all these new vids are doing, are showing its the same ol' stuff.. again.. But then maybe thats the point.. ala Far Cry.

I still hold some hope, but yeah interest has diminished significantly..

Re: Have a Gander at Saints Row's Santa Ileso

dellyrascal

Not bad considering its pre-alpha.. imagine the character animations will be improved (at least assume so), as this looks more about documenting the world map at the moment..

Still a wait and see for me... so long as all the superhero flying nonsense is taken out, i'll be interested, but certainly keeping an eye on this as it trundles along thru its dev stages

Re: Alan Wake Remastered (PS5) - Compelling Thriller Derailed by Tedious, Repetitive Combat

dellyrascal

Product of its time, but still a decent enough experience.

This reminds me of Shenmue somewhat, in that the mechanics may not hold up as they once did, but it still offers a valid experience for those who have not played previously and it has a good story and atmosphere too.

I'd recommend a let's play, if on the fence, to better understand if this is perfect for you or not..

Would love a refresh in the way Resident Evil did, but then it would probably take away some of its lustre.

Re: Hands On: FIFA 22 Feels Like Real Football for Once

dellyrascal

Having played football games since Emyln Hughes International Soccer on the C64, this years edition so far, does feel like an improvement.

There has been some work to make play more thoughtful and both defence / goalies don't feel anywhere near as useless as they did last year, when playing against stronng teams.

Be interesting to see how they botch it, once the complainers moan they can't do twenty step overs in two seconds or that the keepers are "too hard", but it is promising so far..

Re: PS Store Summer Sale Refresh Adds Another 250 PS5, PS4 Deals

dellyrascal

If ya in the UK, make a US account, then get ya voucher online and save some cash..

Not interested in the game myself but ya can get Watch Dogs Legion for sub 15 quid.. I regularly pick up a US PSN card for my American account on PC Game Supply.. And it works out about a tenner cheaper for that game right now.

Long as the US account is primary, you can play on your main UK account..

*apologies mods, if mentioning companies isnt allowed.

Re: Deal: Returnal, Demon's Souls, Spider-Man in PS5 Weekend Sale

dellyrascal

@blinx01 Yeah pretty much spot on..

The US account has to be primary on the machine you use and voila, you can use the game with your main account.

Have saved a fair bit over the last few years on PS4, so very handy.

Cant use card payments as have to be a resident, but you can buy US PSN cards on various UK sites

Re: When Will PS5 Exclusives Drop in Price on PS Store?

dellyrascal

I'm happy to wait it out to be fair. I have a PS5 and am happy enough to be catching up on my backlog in part, along with the odd new title I have.

Previous generation's early titles took a while to drop significantly, even with the Sega Saturn, so it's nothing new and with so much of the last gen currently discounted to various degrees, I'm enjoying trying stuff I wasn't so sure about previously.

Once the discounts eventually begin, this will be a non-issue, but with £70 prices and few games relatively around, it's not a good look at this time.

Re: Soapbox: PS5 Has Turned Me Into a Total 60FPS Snob

dellyrascal

Played Control, Borderlands 3 and Days Gone so far and the difference is night and day..

Not sure how some cannot see the difference. Not a dig, just a general observation and query in all honesty.

In fairness though, if the option is there, then great but it's not a deal breaker in any way, shape or form, if its a rock solid 30 and A good game, then Im fine with that. It's just more noticeable, when switching from 60 back to 30.

Re: #EAGate Erupts as FIFA 21 Employee Is Alleged to Have Sold FUT Cards for €1,000s

dellyrascal

As someone who works on sports sites and thus has a working relationship with gambling companies, this is and always has been pure gambling as the risk, reward is clear to see.

To sell products as this guy has done from within the industry, both he and the company would have had the book thrown at them if a gambling firm, with huge fines for various reasons, let alone transparency, fairness and other avenues that could be persued.

In fact, for things like betting on football, we cannot use an image of a player that may look under the age of 25, as it may encourage younger people to gamble, yet here we have EA with their "surprise mechanic" using Haaland and Mbappe. Its ludicrous.

I enjoy playing FIFA, mainly pro clubs with my friends / family, but how Ultimate Team has gotten away with this for so long, is beyond me, especially with the aim of attracting kids to buy more packs etc.

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Swings Much Smoother with 60 Frames-Per-Second

dellyrascal

Bought the previous incarnation when the Golf Club 2 and have to say that runs better on PS5.. Smoother framerate (still not perfect) and still pop in but better overall. Steered clear once microtransactions were in. Which is unfortunate but I dont need extra flannel with golf games.

Everybody's golf is fun, but I hark back to the old PGA tour games on Megadrive or even further back, Leaderboard..
