Look, we know you get your PlayStation news and reviews from Push Square, and we’re flattered – but we’re still big fans of gaming magazines. Growing up, Official PlayStation Magazine was basically our Bible, and we still owe every bit of our success to the printed media of old. That’s why we’re eager to promote this deal to our UK readers: three issues of OPM delivered to your door for just £1.
It’s part of the new PlayStation Plus Rewards scheme, which is somehow flying dramatically under the radar. You do have to open a Direct Debit to be eligible for the deal, and the price rises to £15 after the initial three issues, but the small-print stresses that if you want to cancel you just need to provide written notice 14 days in advance. We’re sure you’ll love the mag and want to stick with it, though.
Are you a regular reader of OPM, or will you be taking advantage of this offer to get back into the groove? Peel back the pages in the comments section below.

Up until very recently I still had a sub to OPM. Then I had to move and the practice of having to move dozens upon dozens of surprisingly heavy magazines forced my hand somewhat!
It's a shame as I liked supporting them and they were often decent reads, but ultimately I just feel there's not a great deal of place for them anymore unfortunately.
OPM was my bible for a long time. Great mag.
@roe yes I have 2 big boxes of magazines that I’ve moved from house to house for years. Combined with boxes of DVDs, blue rays and games it really makes me appreciate digital media and streaming. It’s nice to have some of your absolute favourites as physical copies, of course, but do I realllllly need the 2 copies of Devil May Cry 2 ive been lugging round for 15 years?
I still have stacks of OPM and NOM (Nintendo Official Magazine — back before it was totally overhauled to ONM with the arrival of the Wii). Still love a good gaming magazine.
@ShogunRok stacks of opium, you say? That’s weird.
I still enjoy reading OPM every now and then. Always an enjoyable read. I do miss the old days where mags were literally the only source for gaming info, but obviously I wouldn't want to go back to those days as Push Square wouldn't exist!
Oh cool, I never had OPM growing up but I had a subscription to NOM and then ONM. It was actually the ONM crew that introduced me to NLife because when they shut down they redirected us there. I then got onto here through NLife. It’s nice to see some of the old ONM staff popping up sometimes doing articles for NLife, it’s a shame the way the mags went.
As someone who pays £7 for it every issue I think this will do nicely.
May give this a go for nostalgia purposes, still got CVG and Mean Machine mags somewhere In a box..
As much as the majority of news will be old thanks to the Internet, that new page smell never gets old... (yes I'm odd)
Why is anyone paying for this magazine in paper format. If you visit your local library and ask them about press reader (digital app) you can use you library number to get this and 100's of other magazines for free every month including newspapers as well.
These mags had the majority of news in my youth ah the memories of 1 eye on the mag and the other on the shuffling fidgety W.H.Smiths shop assistant.
We now have Push Square for up to the minute news . No comparisson really .
@hotukdeals you lost me at go to your local library
OPM is great, I sometimes buy the magazine on ipad since it's way cheaper than buying it on my local book store.
i still buy it most months, and occassionally they do have access to stuff or more early exclusive coverage of games, or developer interviews that you just don't get on websites. i generally put issues in the recycle bin after a couple of months though, so they don't build up into an unmanageable pile.
No way I thought they stopped making these like ten years ago.
Does it still come with the demo disc?
Just bought the latest issue only an hour ago haha. Its very pricey but i just like buying a mag to read frankly, i love the internet and instant news and stuff i great but having a mag just feels nice. Yeah the news is dated in the mag every month but i love reading the opinion pieces or features what aren't tied to being up to date, i also like reading the reviews as well.
OPM has to be imported like my Nintendo Switch Player magazine to physically read. Definitely worth the $$$.
WOW. I honestly thought they stopped the mag years ago. As others have said, I used to love the older magazines back at school. CVG, mean machines, Total to name just a few. Nothing compares to the days of opening a new shiny magazine each month, unless it’s Edge magazine and a bunch of bloody bird feathers fall out from the middle Pages and you jump back in terror expecting a flattened dead bird to fall out next!
If the price was reasonable to subscribe here in North America I would. I go to the bookstore and pick up a copy of OPM pretty frequently.
