EA Sports has been quietly overhauling its catalogue behind-the-scenes, with the announcement of titles like EA Sports PGA Tour and EA Sports College Football. Sadly, it doesn’t sound like we’ll be sampling the fruits of its labours for quite some time, as the publisher has confirmed that the former will now not tee off until Spring 2023.
You may recall that the title, originally due out in Spring 2022, was delayed indefinitely last November. Well, now it’s been confirmed that it’s still a year away.
“There are few things in sports that match the thrill of winning a major championship, and we’re excited to bring all four majors – the Masters Tournament, PGA Championship, US Open Championship, and The Open Championship – and a true next-gen championship golf experience to fans next year,” a statement from EA Sports bigwig Cam Weber said.
When it finally drops, this will be EA Sports’ first golf game since Rory McIlroy’s PGA Tour in 2015. Of course, the delay will be welcomed by 2K Sports, which released PGA Tour 2K21 a couple of years ago, and has since signed a long-term arrangement with Tiger Woods.

Indeed booooo! But if it means EA actually release the game in a finished,complete version and not the horrible over priced mess that was rorys then i'll wait..we still have 2k's to wait for as well so as a self confessed golf nut i'm well catered for..

Guess this means it will be true next gen only with realistic images, realistic sand bunkers etc. Sounds good that they are spending more time to make it look and feel as realistic as the real thing
Hope they get back on form with this one, would be good to have options and hopefully EA and 2k can push each other... Might be wishful thinking though
Will need to improve a hell of a lot from the Rory McIlroy game, what with the Golf Club guys sterling work, which made that look exceptionally arcade like
The course creator should now be a staple across all golf games.
Also can i just have a re-release of PGA TOUR Golf 2 on the Megadrive.. 😁
I guess they have dropped Tiger's (got) Wood(s)(for the pretty girls) then I haven't played a golf game for years now so I might give it a go(I do love Everybody's Golf tho because it was silly and fun and I would probably buy a PS5 one) And if they included PlayStation characters in it that would be AMAZING to
