What are people on about with Dreams? All they’ve announced is that they’re ending updates, every feature still works, doesn’t it? Another solid month.
This is the state the game should have been in at launch, not after people have had time to bring multiple characters past level 50. It's not so much the content of the patch, but rather the timing of it. People are rightfully pissed in my opinion, the game has no meaningful endgame so instead, everything will just take longer. I expect the anger to increase after tomorrow's stream, when they tell everyone how they're listening but don't plan to do anything about it.
I had fun with this game, but they really sucked the life out of it with the latest patch, my sorcerer build was barely hanging on as it is, now it's borderline useless. I feel like they want the base game to feel like poopoo so you participate in the seasons, but I'm not going to bite.
My guess is this game was developed solely with Game Pass in mind. Keep the production costs low, slap it on Game Pass, charge full price on other platforms, etc.
I mean, It Takes Two won GOTY at The Game Awards, it’s an absolutely stellar game. The Ascent is decent multiplayer fare. Undertale is amazing. Melty Blood is amazing. Two Twisted Metal titles. How is this NOT a great month?
I’m knee deep in this game right now and having a ton of fun with it. The open world design, the MMO-lite mechanics and improved boss battles really do a lot to elevate this game above the rest of the series.
Cool, tons of American history there. I am a big Charley Pride fan, and prior to being a country singer he played in the Negro American League. Him and his brother were historically drafted into MLB teams as recognition for their achievements. Texas Rangers drafted Charley while the Colorado Rockies took his brother Mack.
@Tharsman It wasn’t meant as a derogative term necessarily and I don’t agree that every game type is formulaic. We have genres, and genres have tropes, conventions, etc etc. There are games that play it safe and follow the conventions of their genre very closely and games that take risks and departures. One is not necessarily worse than the other, it is just about taste. I am personally just less interested in conventional, regardless of genre. I had the same level of disinterest for GOW:R.
I have yet to see anything that has got me excited for this one. I was so sick of the first one by the time I rolled credits that finishing it felt like a chore. The only thing not by the numbers about that game is the traversal. “Bigger, more” just doesn’t do anything for me. Glad people are still interested in these formulaic open world games though, you’ll get your money’s worth on this one by the sounds of it.
TOTK has me absolutely hooked atm. Diablo IV might be next, we shall see. I’m potentially curious about FF but I’ll need to see reviews. I haven’t enjoyed an FF game in many, many years, but this one looks like it might shake up the formula enough to get me interested.
Money is the real problem in American politics. They want everyone to think there’s some big divide along racial, social, etc. when really it’s just about the money.
They have been doing this for a minute though, haven’t they? At least since 7, because I just replayed that and there’s all the special coins you can buy. It honestly doesn’t bother me, they’re tough games for some people and if this makes it a bit easier for them, who cares. They quietly add them, they’re not obtrusive, bit of a non-issue if you ask me.
So because Gamescom gave them a Switch-specific award, they’ve delayed releases two weeks prior? I don’t buy it. I don’t think there’s some sort of paid deal going on either, that would seem even weirder to me.
@NeonPizza global VR/AR equipment sales shrunk by 12% in 2022, there’s a lot of indications this is a downward trend. Time will tell, though. I think it’s too early to write PSVR2 off just yet, but my prediction is that this corner of the market will continue to decline.
I think it’ll largely be abandoned by both Sony and 3rd party developers. The interest just isn’t there. Even Meta is quietly pivoting away from VR.
The poll results just kind of show what a bubble this site is, it’s not a realistic representation of the wider market. The real Sony heads will buy it and wish it well, but everyone else is a bad combo of low on cash and uninterested.
Where are people getting their information on VS being a paid exclusive? Just because a game is on one platform and not the other, doesn’t mean it was a timed exclusivity deal.
They’d be really bucking the trend if this thing DOES do well, but too early to write it off yet. I have yet to meet a single person IRL who’s interested in VR gaming. There’s a few die-hards banded together on the internet but the mass adoption just isn’t happening the way it was predicted.
I’m all in. Probably on PC though, but I’m not sure yet. D3 played so good on a controller but this feels a bit different. I played the beta on PC, what was everyone’s thoughts on the controller layout?

Able bodied people commenting on the value and design of this thing is the biggest face palm I’ve seen on the internet in at least 3 minutes.

@Tatarimokke if it's anything like the first one, you can play solo but it's a LOT harder, that was my experience with the game anyways
