They better hope the gameplay has enough going for it because I think the aesthetics, music and overall vibe are going to be highly divisive, unfortunately.
Not the kind of game a lot of people head to PC to play, not surprised at all. I don’t expect many Sony titles to really blow up on PC, except for maybe Bloodborne or Returnal.
I don’t think 60fps is an unreasonable expectation from a new console generation. You expect some leaps, even if they aren’t big ones. There are Switch games hitting 60fps, it should be a bare minimum on PS5. Bad optics at the very least.
Read a couple rough reviews of this game this morning, this might be the most positive take I’ve seen so far. Easy pass for me. PCGamer really didn’t care for it, 49/100 score.
@thefourfoldroot1 there was one on Friday in the NA version that was only a 12hr limit for a collectible, it auto enrolled you in it and showed in your landing screen that it had expired but there was no notification it was even a thing.
Not a fan of the 12 hour campaigns for exclusive collectibles, and having the expired campaign show on your screen after expiration. It feels exploitative to get people constantly engaged and feeling bad for missing a day of playing.
The PS5 is kind of a let down, rushed/botched release IMHO. The gap between PC is too large even at launch, and titles aiming for both are going to be severely kneecapped on PS5.
I like it. This game was just so damn good. I dipped into the tower mode the other day when I was getting those 1994 titles crossed off and wow, can’t wait to dive into that some more, better than I expected.
Interested! MH: World, MH: Rise have been some of my recent favourites for multiplayer. It's got its nuances when it comes to multiplayer, but when you get into the groove, it's sublime.
Why is everyone taking this as it being some big departure from the source material, it’s just an (absolutely necessary) effort to keep an actor’s performance as natural. If Pedro and Bella were just doing impressions the whole time, this thing would be a giant turd on arrival. They’re not making the community theatre version of TLOU. Watch Chernobyl and get excited, stop looking for things to be mad about. Of the Sony game to film adaptations, both released and announced, this stands the greatest chance at success in my opinion.
Actually a great month. I’ve almost bit at Hot Wheels a few times, and Injustice 2 is great, Superhot is great. Been a couple solid months recently, colour me impressed.
I have signed a few NDAs in my career with some biggg companies. There’s a big sense of “f*!# around and find out” to every single one of them. I’m very curious to see this play out.
Excited to try Deathloop, Spiritfarer and might revisit Rayman Legends at some point. Decent enough selection I guess, I dunno. I haven’t been putting much time into this service, luckily I have it until May to decide.
@OrtadragoonX agreed. I am going to have to check those out because I've been kind of curious about other good training modes. GG: Strive seemed like leaps and bounds ahead of most I'd seen and got me to thinking what else is out there. I want to recommend fighting games to people but it's such a turn off for most, and it's not the inputs, it's getting matched against people who know how to read and create openings.
I would rather a more fleshed out practice mode, something really, really deep that goes into the fundamentals in a gradual, gamified way, than just dumbing down the controls. Why have fighting games been so bad at teaching people how to ACTUALLY play fighting games?
People want to like Sonic way more than they’ll ever actually like Sonic. This game looks and sounds objectively bad, which is perfectly in line with an absolutely horrid track record of bottom of the barrel games. In its over 30 year history, I can count the actually fun Sonic the Hedgehog games on one hand, easy. I’ll never understand why people get excited, I’ll never understand the refusal to see a bad Sonic game for what it is. No other series elicits more “well maybe it won’t be THAT bad…” more than the blue blur, and it always IS bad. Sorry, end rant!
I am loving it so far. I don’t mind the combat myself, I think the dodge roll feels satisfying and the progression feels good so far. That’s usually all I need. Give me a good dodge roll and some levels to grind. I’m a simple man.
What’s in the guts of these things? I am assuming just some sort of emulator? If I’m going to devote a chunk of a room to an arcade cabinet, I want it to be the real thing.
THPS remake is so good. I remember when EA Skate came out I was like oh THPS is old hat now, but the game design is actually so clever once you really dig into it. The fact that it has the updated gameplay mechanics from 3 and 4 makes this a remake done right.

Re: Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration (PS5) - A Warts and All Celebration of an Industry Icon
Great review, this seems like a really solid collection.
Re: PS Plus Premium Members Bemused by Sony Once Again
It’s bad on purpose so they can point to it’s unpopularity when they eventually want nothing to do with their classics catalog.
Re: Messi, Neymar, and Paul Pogba Really Are Coming to Modern Warfare 2
Solid Neymar joke
Re: Free Classic Armour Pack for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Out Now
Still the best PS5 game currently out.

If true, I’m sure the community’s response to this will be calm and reasonably measured.

Re: Reaction: PS Stars Is Overdue Yet Appreciated, But There's Lots of Room to Improve
@Milktastrophe thanks for the head’s up!
Re: Sony Seemingly Scraps PS Plus Game Expiry Dates
It should be fully up front upon release on the service. It would really help people parse what games they interact with and when.

Definitely going to be a trend for games targeting simultaneous console+pc releases

lololol 200$ can you imagine?
