Whether or not GamePass is a good business proposition, I’m absolutely loving it as a gamer. I can’t keep up with as many quality day one releases are coming to it. And I’ll take advantage of it while I still can.

I honestly am going to cancel PS+ Premium when it comes up for renewal because I don’t find much benefit in it at all. It’s usually older games I’ve already played or games I don’t have an interest in playing. Everybody’s different and has different tastes so if people are happy with it then that’s great.

I just personally get far more value out of GamePass and it’s saving me a ton of money. So I’ll keep it until that changes if it ever does.

That’s it. I’m getting an Xbox sticker to put on my PS5 so I can have another Xbox!

All this is is a normal Quest 3 with an Xbox label.

Went back to the Death Stranding DC over the weekend to see if I could get any further and while it’s interesting at times, I’m still really struggling to get into it. Problem is that there are so many games I have that are grabbing me that I’m still not sure I can get through it.

Maybe someday when there’s a lull in my backlog (which may be never), I’ll try again but this series just may not be for me.

Wish I could vote for Expedition 33 three times. It was that good. Not only my GoTY at this point but probably my favorite game of all time. Just fantastic in every way.

I’m still interested. There’s only 4 reviews so far on OpenCritic and this is by far the lowest (the others are a 7.5, 8 and 8.5). Loved the original and, especially from the other reviews, sounds like I’ll love this too!

@Rich33 I think you’re wrong to think so many Xbox gamers would never buy another Xbox again. I know a lot of people who would (and read some of the comments on Pure Xbox if you don’t believe me).

After the initial shock of multiplatform games, there’s been a big surge of excitement for the games coming down the line from Xbox studios and GamePass is really firing on all cylinders. This sounds like it’s going to be a PC-console hybrid and that’s a good thing since many would likely jump ship if it wasn’t backwards compatible like they say it will be.

Or course, price will be a factor so we’ll have to wait for more info on that front.

Just glad they said it will be backwards compatible with current Xbox titles. Wondering if that will be an emulator or how it will work but if they took that away, that would lose a lot of Xbox players.

I’ll still be buying Xbox consoles as long as GamePass remains the deal it is now and I’ll also likely continue to buy a PlayStation but if they continue to be as lackadaisical as they are about first party, that may not be the case. Right now I have more reasons to want to play on Xbox (and I do) than I do on PlayStation. Sony needs to wake up.

First game was love it or hate it. It obviously did well enough to get a sequel.

Hopefully it’ll be on GamePass day one like the first two.

Know it’s a “alpha”, but the demo for this is not grabbing me. Part of the advanced tutorial also seems broke.

Wondering if this will be a live service / F2P game. Hope not

This actually already came out on mobile a few months ago. Pretty fun little game!

Happy to see Alone in the Dark. Had interest but not to spend much money on so free is good. I have Bomb Rush Cyberfunk on my Series X. Great game in the vein of Jet Set Radio.

Actually have been playing this on mobile. Pretty fun. Kind of a first person Hotline Miami but set in the espionage world.

Nice. Would have been sad to just let the series die.

I love how people are video game industry experts and can definitively say the game “flopped”. Things aren’t as simple as just sales anymore but, you know, everyone’s the expert.

How about let people enjoy whatever games they like and let the CEOs and shareholders determine what is actually considered a success for their bottom line?

Don’t care what the stats say, I’m absolutely loving it! That said I’m also still working on the brilliant Expedition 33 as well so there’s been a lot of great games in a short period so it might be eating into Doom’s numbers.

Look at the bright side, you don’t need to make difficult decisions like whether to play Expedition 33 or Doom: The Dark Ages tonight.

They need to just kill premium and roll it into Extra. Even then wouldn’t be a great month but definitely will drop Premium come renewal unless something major changes.

First season was outstanding (and both critical and audience reception was in the 90s on RT. It was far from just “passable”. Honestly think it’s the best video game adaptation on TV yet (yes, better than TLOU).

As an owner of both a PS5 and XSX, I’ve actually been playing my Xbox more than ever. GamePass has been killing it lately and it’ll continue to be a huge reason for me to still want to get an Xbox going forward.

Still enjoy my PS5, but contrary to belief there are people who still like their Xboxes and have reasons for it. And that’s okay.

Just Revenge of the Savage Planet for me but I’ll play it on GamePass.

@ChrisDeku Content and Services is a lot more than just GamePass. Games they published also are in that and probably other things.

All I know is 45% more revenue for PC GamePass is a way more important metric than sub numbers themselves. You can say whatever you want to believe but that’s pretty definitive to me.

It’s 100% making more money regardless. And that’s good news for Microsoft and GP. GP sub price hikes were not 45% so there has to have been more users to go up that much.

It’s revenue so how could that be “cherry picked”? It’s just a comparison of what it made last year to what it’s making this year. And it made a lot more.

Last part of the article is outdated. Microsoft did recently release some numbers on GamePass as part of their earnings this week. PC GamePass revenue grew by 45% and GamePass overall is up 30%. It was one of the big highlights of Xbox’s earnings report. Seems to be doing just fine.

Own Balatro on three other systems so might as well own it on PS5 too. Though my phone version will always be my preferred way to play (perfect game for touch screens).

Only problem I have with these remaster reviews is that they say it’s the best way to play a game that was highly rated to begin with but then give it an average review score. Makes it seem like it’s actually worse than playing the original.

Not going to happen but it seems like the best solution would be to have a rating for the game itself and then a separate rating for the remaster effort.

Honestly they’re better off. Stay associated with the game and not this POS.

I never even heard of the game and you can’t really blame that on the shadow drop itself. You should be promoting your game months in advance. I read gaming sites daily so the fact that I haven’t even heard of it at all says something.

I bet Sony will end up allowing PS Plus copies to get the $10 upgrade like SE eventually did with Final Fantasy VII Remake. Expecting sales, particularly with Oblivion and Clair Obscur the same week, aren’t gonna be great and they’re still going to need to recoup costs.

@FinneasGH If you only own the first game from PS Plus, you won’t be able to get the upgrade. If you did buy it outright, it should come up for you instead of the $50 stand alone listing.

I understand the differences with GamePass and PS Plus with Sony not wanting to do much of the day one stuff. But older first party games? Just does not make any sense why these have to leave. A lot of stuff leaves GP too of course, but at least there’s security knowing that all the first party games will remain.

Kind of odd that the game is also #1 in UK game sales. Bandai Namco can’t be too upset with that result.

It’s also the highest rated game of the year across all genres so far. They’ll have lots of console players with it being on both PS Plus Extra and GamePass.

I mean doesn’t mean a lot when the important specs are still undetermined.

It would be extremely petty of Sony to block them. But Sony has been known to be petty so…

@carlos82 They’re selling a paid DLC expansion that happens to also include two days of early access. Not sure why people aren’t looking at that.

@Max_the_German Well, you are getting a paid DLC expansion with that so it will still cost you more if you wait two days if you want it.

I’d love a side project that went back to the old style of God of War. Still prefer those games to the newer ones.

Honestly don’t see why it’s a bad idea to have it on a phone. I’d actually love to have it on the go. Games like this usually work really well with a touch interface.

BUT I don’t know why they feel the need to change it. Why ruin a masterpiece? As long as you can save the game when you want, it’ll be great.

Awesome! Definitely looking forward to playing this on GamePass when it launches. Absolutely my favorite Elder Scrolls game.

Not sure I understand why the headline says that PS6 may be the only high-end console. Why couldn’t a console that’s closer to Windows also be high-end? And MS is committed to backwards compatibility so it still will be operating as a console as well. It’s not going to be fully PC but it most definitely could and likely will be “high-end” so the headline is odd and misleading at best.
