Silent Hill, like many multiformat franchises, feels PlayStation.
That’s not to say the series has never released elsewhere, it has – last year’s Silent Hill F is an obvious example, which was available across the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC all on day one.
But it’s a series that got its start on Sony’s system, and it was no surprise when Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake initially released as a console exclusive.
It looks like Konami will be continuing that strategy with Silent Hill Townfall, as fans have noticed the game’s website only mentions the PS5 and PC versions of the game.
While this could change before launch later in 2026, it does feel like Sony has a particularly strong hold on the Silent Hill series right now, for all of the reasons mentioned above.
Townfall, for those who don’t know, is being developed by Glaswegian outfit Screen Burn, and takes the story to the Scottish island of St. Amelia.
Much like with Neobards’ distinctly Japanese Silent Hill F, we quite like how the publisher is exploring different themes and even gameplay styles for this series.
We’ll double check to see if this game really is releasing as a PS5 console exclusive, and we’ll update as and when we get confirmation.
