Interesting to hear that the English dub is that bad. Seemed okay on the demo but guess that was just a small slice.

Was a bit worried this may be the case when it looked nice and was an EA game for only $19.99. Something was missing. Apparently a lot was missing to make it a good game. Oh well, I’ll give it a try on Plus at least.

The PC version has by far the greatest number of reviews and it currently is a 76 on Metacritic. I think if you added in Xbox and PS5 it would still be around a 75 (would normally look at OpenCritic for exactly this reason but they haven’t added many reviews yet).

That’s not too bad. Still looking forward to it!

The three day one games and Miasma make this a better month than usual for me.

Know how highly rated the last two games were but I’m a bit worn out of the mopey Dad-Kid thing.

I’d LOVE to see a return to the old GoW format. But probably won’t happen.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Unicorn Overlord still neck and neck for me.

I’d much rather play a 30 FPS Dragon’s Dogma 2 than a 60 FPS Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Just sayin’ 😀

Seriously though, while I’m not saying I wouldn’t love 60 FOS in DD2, I’m still having a blast with the game and am not even thinking about the framerate.

Series X, 120hz and VRR on my LG CX helping to keep it smooth most of the time.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Unicorn Overlord are my frontrunners right now for GoTY. Both fantastic games.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is absolutely fantastic and the framerate has not bothered me (at least on Series X and VRR). It’s a GoTY candidate and I feel sorry for those ignoring it just because of the frame rate.

Yeah, the demo did absolutely nothing for me. Bored me to tears. But maybe the full game pulls things together better.

If the game got an ESRB rating, it’s got to be close to release with a final build submitted for a rating, right?

Absolutely love this. What other game can you hang on the back of a flying griffin, continuing to attack it while your pawns fight from the ground? The combat is glorious - the best and most immersive fantasy experience I’ve found in gaming. This and Unicorn Overlord are my GoTY candidates so far and DD2 is inching towards pulling away with it.

They’ve had a whole year to search for a replacement knowing he would be leaving. What have they been doing?

10 from me so far. This and Dragon’s Dogma 2 are neck and neck for early GoTY consideration. But this is one of the best strategic based RPGs I’ve ever played. So addicting to say “just one more stage” and find yourself still playing hours later.

I’ll pick it up when it’s dirt cheap one day. Going to take quite a while to get through Unicorn Overlord and Dragon’s Dogma 2 anyway.

The fuss about the micro transactions is overblown. Nothing to get that upset about and easily ignored.

Got an early copy of this on Series X and am absolutely loving it. With VRR, I’m not noticing the framerate dips at all. Very smooth.

I’m don’t know. If puzzles are the main draw of a game over combat and being scary, it fails as a horror game to me and that’s disappointing.

Need for Speed Heat, a 5-year-old racing game, is in the top 10?!? Guessing there must have been a deep sale on it on the European store.

Honestly have been playing this on my Series X and haven’t had many issues with servers and few bugs. I’d give it a 6/10 or even 7/10 but maybe I’ve just caught it during good hours.

Played it on Xbox and it is fantastic. Loved every minute of it and it deserves this score and the praise it gets IMO.

@3Above There’s so much strategy involved in creating squads, upgrading them, figuring out what skills they should priority (and that’s incredibly deep down to what type of unit, health and more), when to deploy them, watching your AP points, etc., etc.

It’s a very deep game and it’s also better to think of it as an RTS mixed with JRPG. Anyway, I wasn’t sure about that either but those concerns went away fast as I realized how much more there is to the game.

If you play the demo, you’ll understand and it puts its hooks into you (or at least that’s what happened to me).

Sad to see few people playing Unicorn Overlord. It’s fantastic and my early GoTY. Bloody brilliant!

Midnight Suns is the highlight but I’ve had it forever so not much to see here for me at least.

Glad to see Unicorn Overlord charting. Such a fantastic game. My early GoTY at this point.

@Grumblevolcano Honestly I was shocked the the DLC is being given away via GamePass. Usually expansions aren’t so that’s not something Xbox players are “conditioned” to. We’re used to paying extra for DLC even for first party games. Not complaining about this getting this one though!

I was under the impression that you can choose either 30 FPS locked or unlocked. Is that not the case? Because obviously unlocked is going to look at lot worse if your TV doesn’t have VRR to smooth things out.

On one hand, I’m okay with this but on the other, I’m really, really getting burnt out on remasters. Pretty soon this will be the generation most known for remasters.

Why is Bang on Balls on the list as coming this weeek? It’s been out for months. I own it.

I think SE secretly used the Xbox Series S as their base console with the ports of both games to be announced within the next six months. 😀

Really couldn’t stand how much padding was added to Remake so sad to hear it’s more of the same in that area. Don’t understand the need to make a game a billion hours long. I’d rather have a great 20 hour RPG that’s a banger from start to finish than a 40 hour game where half of it is boring AF.

Honestly more excited for this than Rebirth.

Phil also clearly said that the dam wasn’t about to break with exclusive games going to other platforms. And that he didn’t want to get gamers on other platforms hopes up. But the media will continue this endless, pointless speculation anyway they can and cherry pick quotes.
