With the established extract games on pc(arc, tarkov) will this have enough to pull those users away and attract new ones? An open play test(wasnt one announced) or demo would help to alleviate a lot of those worries.

They're not looking at the ratings of players and critics. They're just looking at the sales, which seems to have been enough. It has a lot of horn...dedicated fans, and they want to satisfy that fanbase.

I feel this game should've had mobs/pc enemies that you could shoot at for experience/currency, etc. And after breaking the enemies shields, the mobs would all focus their attack on the enemies base. The defenders could use lures/grenades to distract them from their base and go after the attackers for a short period, etc. And maybe make it more than 3v3. After the likes of MAG, battlefield, with battles of 32v32 and up; 3v3 seems like a real backwards fall.

From their great remasters/remakes to some of their newer releases, capcom is one of the great developers, as of late. Especially when it comes to the rate they release their games. REreq and pragmata both releasing soon, its crazy. Meanwhile es6 and gtavi are taking forever.

Yes, exclusives sell consoles. The reason I got a ps4 was horizon zero dawn couldn't be played anywhere else. Same for breath of the wild. The reason I got a ps5 was returnal. Knowing what I know now, I would've never bought a series x(might have still bought a ps5, maybe). Instead I would've put that money towards a pc, especially now that xbox AND ps are putting their games on there.

It's free on epic games. For those with pcs/laptops, and don't mind multiple storefronts.

Just look at what sells well on the ps. Gamers want downers, revenge, and graphics. Tlou, hfw, days gone, gow, gots/yotei, stellar blade, black myth, etc. Games like Lil gator game, a short hike, to a t, etc., arent it. Mightve helped if it released on the switch. Just saiyan.

They probably heard, "ps5 slim Japanese version is cheap." Went to go buy it and thought, "this is slim??" Living space is at a premiun in japan. And having a system that big take up a large portion of that space probably isn't enticing.

Could be the second coming of the wii. Everyone will want one because of the hype and word of mouth, use it for 4 months, that's it. But it will have done its job by selling tons.

Yakuza has done it. Sports/racing games have done it, etc. Its more of the same, and that can be a good or bad thing.

They took that persona 5 style and just ran with it, from remasters/makes to a new release.

A majority of steam users tend to play multiplayer games. Hence why helldivers did well and others not so much.

@Balaam_ I agree. I do enjoy his videos and interpretations on the fromsoft games, but id be a bit chuffed buying this book only for fromsoft to come out with their own that contradicts some points in vaati's book. Like you said if fromsoft endorsed this book then it would be different.

Depends. If they could do epics on mobile with existing licenses(not lazy ports), maybe charge $5-$10. Balatro sold 1M+ at $10. If they're gonna do the whole f2p thing with Sony ips, that might be a different story.

If there are casual people on the fence about a new console. And one comes out that can play pc, ps, xbox games cheaply and at a decent framerate and resolution, then yes it'll have an impact. If there are millions of ps4 holdovers and they buy the steam machine instead of a ps5, it'll have an impact. A lot of "ifs."

I don't know man. Free to play? So a lot of grinding for parts to upgrade stuff, or mtx, I presume. Looks like a monster hunter-like set in the horizon universe.

In all honesty, im really intrigued by what devolver digital might have. They are adamant about releasing a game alongside gta vi. They followed them to November. 🤣🤣

This is how I feel:

Multiplayer games on pc do not need another service to play(ie ps+, gpu), huge plus. Multiplayer games on pc are plagued with cheaters/hackers, etc., huge con.

Multiplayer games on consoles tend to avoid the pitfalls of pc when it comes to cheaters/hackers, etc., huge plus. Multiplayer games come with an additional cost of $10-$30 a month to play the game you just spent $70+ on, huge con.

I'd be happy with how it WAS on console and charge me $60 a year for online play only. I don't care about your rental catalogs or your lame perks.

Kind of. Time is finite. So anything with a screen is competing with other screens. Hell, other activities compete with other choices.

"..wanting to be everywhere.." and being wanted everywhere are two different things. Looking at most of the mediocrity being produced not many care whether they miss the games or not.

The good thing about steam is the 2hr playtime refund window. See a game, buy it, see how it runs. If great keep it, if not refund it.

I don't see how you make a service out of gow. Was it pvp, pve ala destiny 2? Was it a genshin-like with mp and gow aesthetics? Extraction? Create your own character? Set before, during, after the Greek saga. Just too difficult to do properly.

The ps4 is still getting releases. If this is any indication, the ps5 will have releases far into the ps6 lifecycle. So no rush.

That's fine. If this gen is anything to go by, the ps5 will last long into the ps6 gen. And for everything else I can just pc it. Building one doesn't seem that hard.

I still think ms should've gave 70+ devs/studios, including internally, $1B each for multiple exclusives for multiple gens.

Its a comedy of errors. $70+B cost for actiblizz; $300M loss for CoD on xbox; and now the mass xbox renewal cancelations. This will be a loss of massive proportions. May even lead to a change of management, investment strategy into the xbox division.

Don't know this guy. But has he said things about both sides? Has he commented how terrible ms has been to consumers(rising prices, canceled games) and devs(canceled games, closed studios)?

It's like xbox's play anywhere initiative, only works when devs buy in, and if they don't it's a worthless perk.
