Everything that I saw is fine. It looks basically how I would expect it to. I wish that things were bigger and easier to see. I have no real desire to do most of the online stuff, so that doesn't mean anything to me, and I don't take screenshots.
I'm a lot more interested in the deeper details about how things are going to work. Will it come with a play time tracker for each game?
@TimeDelayedGamer I feel the same way. In the last twenty years, there are probably only two or three games that I bought and didn't complete the story. And in those cases, I put time into it, but just realized that it wasn't fun or I didn't enjoy it, so I was wasting my time.
@TimeDelayedGamer I always laugh when there's a trophy for basically starting the game, but only about 90% of the people have earned it. Who loads a new game and doesn't even play the opening sequence???
@TimeDelayedGamer I cared a little more before so many games starting making the online aspect key to getting them. If I can get trophies through the normal method of playing the single player, offline aspect of the game, then it feels like I've done something interesting or made some progress when one pops up. Especially if it was a hidden one that I got for being really thorough about something that had meaning within the game.
But as far as chasing them, doing things that I wouldn't otherwise do for no real purpose, then no thanks.
ES6 is my number one game that I'm most interested in for the future, so if it became MS exclusive, that would really suck. If they made it a delayed release, even a whole year, I'd play it on the PS5. But if it were never coming to the PS5, I guess I'd figure out a way to connect my laptop to my TV, get a controller for it, and try to play it that way.
PC games always, always crash though, so I'm not excited about that prospect.
Regardless of whether they allow ES6 to come to the PS5, and I very much hope that they do....I want Sony to develop their own similar open world title. Its been nine years, and we don't really have any Skyrim clones, truly. Why doesn't someone else build a similar game?
Yeah "Don't worry about it". What about those of us who haven't even been able to preorder one yet? I'm thinking that this is going to be as ugly as the PS2 launch was, with a shortage well into 2021.
@Sknarfm They don't last forever, though. My second PS3 is ten years old now, after the original one died after four years. Once they one does go, I"ll have dozens of PS3 games I'll be unable to play. Same as how I now have dozens of PS2 games the same way, given than the slim PS3 won't play them.
Well, that's very contrite of them, which I always respect. Hopefully, they're going to do everything in their power to allow as many dedicated gamers to get one at release as possible.
I would love to preorder one right now, but they're all out of stock. I'm not optimistic that there will be enough to go around, sadly. I'll get it as soon as I can, but I worry that it will be well into 2021 before they are available for everyone.
Not a shock. However, given that the quality of the controllers for the PS3 and PS4 sold near the end of their lifespan is far lower than the ones sold at the start, I might end up buying two more of the things and just storing them away until I need them.
I've only been getting about a year out of the last two DS4s that I bought, while I got about five years out of the two I got at launch.
The game IMMEDIATELY felt, looked and sounded like a FF title, which was cool and great. I knew from the start thats what we were looking at. They have their style, which has evolved gradually since the days of the PS1 for what characters look like and how they move.
However, what stuck out like a sore thumb was that the scenes seemed to feature a single character fighting, and not a party. That could of course just mean that its from very early in the game or was created for demo purposes, but I found it odd, and a bit worrisome. As a FF lifer, I'm still super eager for AAA party based RPGS, of which there are so few these days. I love single player action open world titles too, but we've got some of those in the pipeline.
They've found the absolute perfect formula for AC games. Keep making those at the same quality and scope every other year, and I don't really care what else they do.
95 was my freshman year of college, but I was honestly happy with my SNES at that point, and not very interested in the games on the PS. I ended up buying mine used off of a friend two years later when he decided he'd rather have a Dreamcast. I've been a Sony guy ever since.
@Juanalf Blue case for Blu Rays, which Sony strongly supported with the PS3, and helped that format win as the next standard. The PS2 used the standard DVD case, basically.
So, will we be able to download upgraded PS5 editions of the DLC for those of us who bought the disc as soon as it came out? I've already played through the entire game twice, but for free, I guess I might go through again to see it all.
ME2 is one of my favorite games of all time. ME3 was good, not great. I never played the first one, since it didn't release new on Sony systems, but if they remake it all at PS4 level and it can be played seemlessly together as one big game, then I'm 100% in.
@Northern_munkey The extreme futility is what bothers me. Wondering around, zapping trees and rocks all day. Finding hundreds of words from alien languages, but never having that mean anything. Getting murdered by sentinals any time I got too close to anything interesting. Finding things to buy that cost in the millions of credits, when I myself never had more than the thousands. There just didn't seem to be any real path towards anything. I put a lot of time into it and just couldn't make my way to anything beyond the basics, and left confused if there really was anything. I felt very powerless and lost.
I got NMS about a year after launch, hoping that the bugs were worked out. I got it cheap, but was still sad with the whole experience. I put it down for about a year, came back to it after some bug updates, and then put a bunch of time into it. It was playable, but still incredibly user-unfriendly. The game is not intuitive at all, and even after playing for over 50 hours, I never felt like I truly understood what was supposed to be happening. There seems to be an enormous amount of luck involved, and 80-90% of the time, its nearly impossible to succeed at anything you try. I gave up. And I"m not sure that I'd buy another game from the studio.
@Sknarfm What about those of us who still own tons of old games? Am I wrong to be able to want to use what I've already paid for, rather than paying again to use the same product?
@playstation_king The original ones sold in 2006 could play PS1 and PS2 games. When I got mine, I didn't even own any PS3 games for about six months afterwards because I wasn't interested in the launch titles. I played several PS2 games that I loved during that time on it.
My replacement PS3, which I bought ten years ago now, has been an extremely solid machine. Zero troubles and used all the time as both a game system and a blu ray player. But I miss the fact that it can't play PS2 discs. I've had dozens of them sitting in my entertainment center since then, unusable.
@playstation_king PS3 was in fact backwards compatible, and it worked great. I loved my first one. Sadly, when it broke after four years, Sony refused to fix it.
@Anti-Matter My 9 and 6 year old daughters would love it. They do more time with character creation than anything, no matter what they play. I might look at it if its on clearance later on.
That's a really long list of games that I have absolutely zero interest in, lol. I'm probably out until the PS5 gets released, honestly. Had either AC Valhalla or Cyberpunk gotten released in September like they were supposed to, I'd like likely bought one of them. But as it is, I'll just wait.
I've played the Lego games since the days on the PS2. At one point, I was a huge fan, and my wife and I loved playing them together. Later, we introduced our kids to them and they love them too. But then the quality started to suffer around the time the PS4 came out.
Lego The Force Awakens and Lego Jurrasic World are both solid games. But Lego Hobbit was left unfinished, but released that way for some reason. Lego Marvel Super Heros 2 was really poorly made and has tons of game breaking bugs. And the games for the Lego Movie and Lego Ninjago feel like they were outsourced to a different company.
I've basically given up on the series, unfortunately. From the highlights here, it looks like the gameplay is a lot like the Ninjago game, which is a big step down from older titles.
I wonder with things like this, do they have to get any more special permission to use his likeness than they would someone like George Washington or Abe Lincoln? Or as a deceased former president, is it all fair game? Are there rules as to how someone like that can be portrayed?
The saddest thing is that Bioware was working on DA4 at least as far back as 2017, and maybe earlier. (DA:I came out in 2014). I haven't downloaded any of the free games in months. I might give Street Fighter a look for the single player aspect, given that I'm not playing anything else at the moment. @Kienda Yeah, I don't do anything that's horror, and I dislike gore. There are games that I enjoy that involve it sometimes, but I wish that they didn't.
I do single player RPGs that I can take my time with mostly.
These lists are always interesting, in a way to see how different we all are. I'm a PS4 exclusive gamer, and have been for six years. However, I've only played ten games on this list. And if you exclude sports games, I own about 40 PS4 games, and a couple in this top 50 that I do own wouldn't be in my own personal top 20. But again, we're all different.
My own top 10
The Witcher 3 AC Odyssey Horizon Zero Dawn Dragon Age Inquisition Ghost of Tsushima Uncharted 4 Jedi Fallen Order AC Origins Final Fantasy 15 Ni No Kuni 2
*FF 12 is the best PS2 game ever made, and in my personal HOF, but I'm not going to put a remaster on this list.
@Tulio517 Does Nintendo keep track of the total time that you've played on a game, across all save files? That would be so awesome. I'd love to see my list on the PS4.
@ShogunRok I guess I get that. I would just never have any use for it myself. I finished Tsushima yesterday, having taken my time, gotten nearly every item, and completed nearly every task possible. But I still only really changed armor when I was in the Ghost set and was going into either a duel or big battle, where I'd put the Sakai armor back on. Early on, once I got the Samauri set, I just wore it all the time.

I'm interested in NG+ and more cosmetic options, but I'm going to wait for story DLC before I play it a second time through.

270. But nearly all my golds are from sports games, and I've never gotten a platinum one.

If so, this is the quickest that Square has moved on anything in about 15 years. That's great, and I guess we'll see what the end result is.

I'm definately going to do NG+ eventually, but I want to see if there's story expansion DLC first.
