If you haven't managed to get your hands on a PlayStation 5 pre-order just yet, your chances of doing so have just dramatically increased. Sony has today taken to Twitter to confirm that more PS5 pre-orders will be made available through various retailers in the coming days, as well as even more next-gen systems that'll be purchasable through until the end of the year.
In a surprisingly sincere and candid tweet, the Japanese giant said: "Let’s be honest: PS5 pre-orders could have been a lot smoother. We truly apologise for that. Over the next few days, we will release more PS5 consoles for pre-order – retailers will share more details. And more PS5s will be available through the end of the year."
The statement follows a flurry of pre-order listings that broke some records for certain retailers as they sold out in mere minutes. The likes of Amazon now list the PS5 console as unavailable, but that should change in the next couple of days. For more information on where you can pre-order a PS5, head on through the link. We'll be sure to keep it updated as the new batch of pre-orders are made available. Are you still on the lookout for a PS5 pre-order? Let us know in the comments below.

I was able to pre-order my digital edition yesterday through Sony directly. That process was easy and straight forward . Hope all my PS brethren will be able to get theirs as well during the next wave .
Well, that's very contrite of them, which I always respect. Hopefully, they're going to do everything in their power to allow as many dedicated gamers to get one at release as possible.
Glad they finally acknowledged the s#$& show that was the pre-order launch. I am a little sour about it but I already knew that there would be more available plus stores will definitely have in store stock for parents closer to Xmas. Most parents have no idea about pre order dates and stuff etc
@PSfanboy1992 Did they email you? I signed up for that as soon as it was popularized, but I never heard anything from them.
@I_Like_It tell me me about it , I was waiting in the queue for 45 minutes just praying there was still Digital Editions left .
@Unlucky13 yes I got the email Wednesday night . It was basically a raffle who got the email saying you where chosen for a chance to pre-order .
“The way we’ll make it up to you is by giving you the chance to give us more money.”
Wow, I’ve never felt so loved!
hoping to pre order it on Amazon in a couple days
Sony really dropped the ball with pre orders, it was a disaster.
But I got mine locked in. So we're cool.
Hope everyone who is still trying is able to get one now, or in the coming days. I'm holding off this time but I've been there. Seems like there's some way they could make this less stressful.
Yes I'm still looking for your PlayStation 5
Good. I knew there would be more pre order.
Good luck guys
Already notify my local games store, I hope I can get it on launch
It was a crazy moment, I was very lucky but some friends were not. Kudos to Sony though, I'm not bothered about all the flack they have been getting. I think the Xbox will go through the same issues on pre-order, but hopefully everything will be ok for both fans. Good luck to all
@I_Like_It Probably To Get Ahead Of The Scalpers.
Rich at reviewrech has an interesting video. He theorizes that Sony wanted the chaos at the pre-orders to prevent scalpers from scooping up all of the PS fives - the best way to get the items into actual gamers hands.
Who knows if there’s any truth to that, but he contrasted that scenario with the one for the 3080 cards, where the time and date were announced and all of them got purchased by scalper bots.
I like the part when they said, "Let's be honest." 😋
I picked one up from Wal-Mart Thursday evening, but I may switch over to Amazon if I see one available. For some reason I trust them more to actually deliver on launch day.
So what are they gonna do about the bots?
It’s a decent apology, but I’m pretty sure that the Sony execs are relishing this success already.
All I can picture is the South Park We're Sorry scene lol
Well, I feel sorry for the person that bought this now... That £20 for postage is ridiculous!
Well it's good that Sony gave us an apology.
[insert Logan Paul Joke Here]
@Bentleyma-
That’s absolutely hilarious.
But it’s sad that it has 11 bids already.
@NorrinRadd The idea that customers were able to get to them quickly while scalpers, who pretty much do this for a living, just sat around dumbfounded seems like some real wishful thinking.
Well one more shot for my sister & I to get ahold of disc versions
@NorrinRadd Hahaha... That is preposterous.
This is the most human statement from Sony in 6 months. Refreshing, even if days late.
Admitting artifical scarcity, wow.
@TheNewButler Us PC gamers fight for the little guys (console gamers) because we can and they can't.
I feel guilty from talking from a seemingly privileged position of having several pre-orders confirmed (not for scalping, for family members) but this genuinely was such a mess that as much as I wanna say "hopefully they'll learn for next time", next time will be in about 7 years so I'm guessing this mess will be forgotten and it'll be a mess again. Sony seemed to wait so long for literally any details that now they need to realise they should be more open about the whole thing. Maybe not the price, as that would impact Microsoft aswell, but atleast say a few months in advance "look, October 1st is when it goes live" not matter all the other details, reveal them over time leading up to that, but give us an actual date properly next time!
@Menchi PC PC PC
@Robbirtles what do you think would happen if they gave such a notice? Scalpers would be all over that and how many genuinely interested in buying a ps5 more would actually get to preorder?
@Bentleyma- But, you're missing the bigger picture 'Brian'...
It clearly states there's a fiver off, score! Lol.
@naruball I’ll never understand how people don’t realize this is why these companies do it they way they do it.
They can't just magic up more launch day PS5s... Unless they were holding allocation back for some reason?
I'm guessing this is just, 'You'll be able to preorder again soon! (but not for launch)'
@naruball yeah you're spot on scalpers would be all over it no matter what. It's just that I feel that'd be the situation no matter what, so leaving that aside, they should have stuck to the whole "we'll give you plenty of notice" thing and set a proper date. You'd still have all the scalpers grabbing whatever they can, but in between that you'd have the decent fans who just want a shot at getting one too. Hopefully many have managed to get one and not too many scalpers have. I'm hoping the number on eBay at the minute is a small percentage compared to those who genuinely just want to buy one
I got mine from Amazon uk, I tried to get 2 but it would only let me buy 1. All retailers should have to cancel any multiple orders to the same customer, at least this would give others a chance. I know VERY in the UK let me add 1 of each type of console to the basket but i ended up going with Amazon instead. Anyone who complained about this would obviously be someone who had multiple orders 🤷🏻♂️
I hope I can get one. I’m gonna be checking in with GameStop a lot in the morning now. I also hope this site has news for it because I’ll likely see it here.
This site helped me get mine in the UK. It sets an alarm off on your phone when it finds stock. Work a treat for me anyway.
https://www.stockinformer.co.uk/checker-ps5-playstation-5-console
Hope it can help someone out 👍🏻👍🏻
Guessing it went wrong with they lied and said there would be lots of notice. Then for UK it was 10pm to say it's 8am next morning.
Retailers then didn't help with starting at 10:01pm
They could have done a lot lot better
Mmm... Isn't this how console launches always go? They're supposed to be chaotic - it's part of the fun.
@I_Like_It my guess would be that it was actually the retailers that broke the street date . So rather then through them under the bus by calling them out they just took responsibility for it . Im just guessing though.
This is a step in the right direction. Be open and honest and most people will meet yo half way.
Yea, na. The damage has been done for me. I'll not be touching the PS5 until near the end of this generation.
Yeah.....after that little stunt Sony pulled I frankly don't believe a word that comes out of them now. There could just very well NOT be anymore preorders coming and it wouldn't at all surprise me
When will they apologise for their greedy first party game prices?
@Woogy Brian is my friend and that £5 off was the deciding factor for if he would bid or not. £40,600 was a bit out of his price range, but he found £40,595 acceptable.
Something tells me that "over the next few days" probably means Sept 22 at 8am EST. Just a guess. #ProjectNimble
@Tchunga I think you mean retailers. Sony has no control over them. Lol.
@InsertUsername No, I don't
Impossible in Europe. Had no chance from the get go. Really sour about this to be honest.
Feels like an exercise in hype by Sony.
@NEStalgia
Atleast Microsoft has given an exact time when consoles go on sale
@blacklivesmatter You think that will hold back the scalpers. 😆
@Tchunga Then you're taking your anger out on the wrong people. Either way, I'm done talking about it. Have fun with that.
I get why people are a bit upset, been there, done that. What I don't get is the apparent need to vent so much about it. If you really think Sony have somehow screwed you over, just buy something else and quit any Sony based forums. Life is too short.
Personally I don't think this is all part of an evil Sony masterplan to screw us over, it's simple capitalism at its best/worst. Everyone in the chain, especially now, want to make as much out of it as they possibly can.
If all pre-orders started at 9am on Friday morning it would have made absolutely no difference to most people.
While they're at it, they should apologise for the abysmal communication around their new console. But they are probably paying themselves in the back because of pre-orders already running out thanks to scalpers. I hope every single scalper gets hit by a bus (and before anyone asks, yes I am wishing them dead, or at least unable to buy anything ever again)
@InsertUsername We were told that they would give everyone fair warning, that they wouldn't drop preorders at a moments notice. And that's exactly what happened. But if you want to give Sony a free pass (for some reason) and blame it on the retailers then preorders would have still went up less than 24 hours after their showcase (which had no mention of preorder information at all). If you didn't happen to go on Twitter you could very easily have missed it. Either way you look at it Sony ****ed up. Apologising for them just makes you look like a fanboy
***** Sony
@Tchunga I really don't understand your anger. If they'd said pre-orders start at 1pm on Friday, and retailers waited until then, how would that have been better? Maybe for you, but not for the person at work with maybe no access to a phone or the internet. An hour later, all gone. Whatever date and time they made it large numbers of people would miss out.
You'll get one at some point if you want one, it's not life or death.
@blacklivesmatter yeah. I'm still torn on if that will make the scalper bots more or less of a problem... But it's still the better way to do it!
@SJBUK I'm not angry, I just don't like how Sony handled their preorders.
But so the situation isn't life or death that means I no longer have the right to complain about it? What kind of logic is that?
So no one should ever complain about loot boxes or microtransactions then, since they're not "life of death"
I just really don't get you corporate apologist types. These companies aren't your friends. They won't sing your praises for going to bat for them
@SJBUK If they set a time and date where you know you'll be someplace you won't have access to phone or internet, it's possible you can make arrangements. If they just drop it on everyone, there's very little you can do.
And to the point @Tchunga is making, Sony basically straight up lied. Their control, or lack thereof, over retailers is irrelevant. They assured us the thing that happened, wouldn't. Why would this be excusable to anyone but the most rabid of fanboys?
Wow. I'm neither a corporate apologist or fanboy. Had you both got your pre-order I doubt you'd be calling people liars, corporate apologists or fanboys.
Not sure where loot boxes or microtransactions come into it.
I'd just really, really like to find a forum where people can have a sensible conversation about issues without name calling. Seems I've not found one here!
@SJBUK Loot boxes and MTX come into play to show you that your path of logic is flawed. Not every problem in life is "Life or death" It's an over simplification of the issue and comes across as hand-wavey
@Tchunga Sorry my friend but you've completely lost me. I think we should just agree to disagree. Good luck finding a PS5.
@SJBUK Lol, it's really not that complicated but alright, sure. And thanks, I'll need all the luck I can get thanks to Sony's efforts
Great news, I'm still trying to hunt down a Standard PS5 for myself.
I'm seeing on ebay people are selling PS5 launch editions for stupid pricing. They even include a screen capture of their preorder receipt. Cannot stand people that do this , since the console itself is of no interest to them whatsoever. The world has a lot of selfish people.
I am lucky enough to get one for pickup on Nov 12th.
I honestly see myself being digital only next generation. But I am still holding out hope for the disc version just to replay my PS4 games. Maybe I'll get lucky one of these days...
Glad to see Sony trying to make amends, hopefully the next wave of pre-orders goes a lot more smoothly. I haven't decided yet if I'll pick one up at launch or not, we'll have to see.
I think loyal playstation users and ps+ people should have got emails for first pre-orders.
Game & Amazon uk are clean sold out and everywhere else within a day of listing the PS5.
We all knew preorders would be a fight. Even before they opened i had a plan to ignore the online stores and wait for brick and mortar in the morning. Cant sell out if the shops shut. I called in late to work and was outside the store at 9am, 8th in line. I got 3 disc PS5's. More will come.
@chadders As if. I preorderd 3. One for me and one for each of my sons. They should miss out because why exactly? Because I was better prepared than others.
@starbuck2212
Oh, sorry sir, yes sir, what ever you say is correct sir, your the better man sir cos you can afford 3 PS5 sir????? You tool 🖕🏻. With an attitude like that, I hope you loose your job on Friday for calling in late and can't afford to pay for any of them and you and sons all miss out. Or better still, the shop goes bump and takes your money and you cant get any more to replace them because others have order them all 😂😂👍🏻 you cu*t, give your head a wobble will you.
@chadders lol keep crying. I guess you're just so miserable that you don't deserve one. Better luck next time.
@starbuck2212
What you on about? I got one? Get back in your box and I'll see you in the playground after school 🔔🔚
@chadders oh my bad. Why so bitter and miserable then? Just the way you are?
@LiamCroft Any updates regarding PS5 console pre-orders? I missed my chance to get mine due to payment issues.
I know Sony/PlayStation said they were working with the retailers to speed up restocking...but anything since then?
I was truly hoping to lock in my PS5 console pre-order before I go back to work tomorrow.
