Sucker Punch Productions has today confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, a new online co-op mode for the PlayStation 4 exclusive, will launch on 16th October 2020 for free. It will also release alongside update 1.1 which contains some major new features for the single player story, including New Game +, another merchant, and armour loadouts. There's even a new set of Trophies you can earn during a second playthrough.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will include story missions designed for two players and four-player survival missions that act similar to a Horde mode as you battle waves after waves of enemies alongside your friends. A raid named Iyo's Realm will also launch a couple of weeks after the release of Legends and is said to be an "epic three-part adventure that will require excellent teamwork and communication to overcome". Over on the PlayStation Blog, you can also learn about the four classes. The Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin classes all come with their own abilities, skills, and traits to allow you to create the ultimate fighter.

Those still experiencing the single player story haven't been left out either as New Game+, a new merchant that's exclusive to a second playthrough, new Charms that are more powerful than ever before, and more Trophies have been added. "You’ll start New Game+ from the release to the open world, shortly after Jin’s initial confrontation with the Khan. You’ll keep all of the Techniques, Gear, and Vanity items obtained in a previous playthrough, and difficulty will be increased to provide a new challenge (but you can still adjust it down in the menu)."

Armour loadouts can now be toggled between in the pause menu, there are new armour dyes and vanity gear, and you can now finally check your playtime by selecting a saved game. Hallelujah! This appears to be a seriously significant update that will have Ghost of Tsushima players returning for some co-op action and another reason to play through the campaign all over again.
